Camber Pharmaceuticals Generic Percocet (Page 6) (Top voted first)

Just got Camber Pharm generic Percocet at Walgreens instead of the Actavis brand. It's giving me an upset stomach and causing me to feel weird. Has anyone else had a similar reaction?

My pain specialist did as I requested and didn’t send in to Walgreens the electronic prescription for my Percocet generic so that I can shop around to find a pharmacy that carries anything but Camber. I’ve been sick from the Camber generic ever since my first prescription fill with it on January 10th. I had to go through stool sample tests at the hospital — all of which came back negative for bacteria and parasites. I took a round of antibiotics to try to clear up the gastrointestinal problems I’ve had from it from the onset. And I’m now on an inhaler to deal with the wheezing and creaking the Camber causes me.

I wrote to the corporate office of Walgreens yesterday to tell them what this generic has cost me big time both physically and financially, along with how it appears that my twenty-year, four-state loyalty to them is now at a crossroads. If I can find a different Percocet generic in this area I’m in, I’ll be taking my new prescription there, followed by my seven other prescriptions. When what they carry damages the quality of my life, rather than improves it, it’s an absolute no-brainer about what I have to do. I have no choice but to move on. My job now is to track down a pharmacy which I can rely on not to sell me poison.

Bella here. I kept the old camber pills and just checked. Mine have a scored line and little blue speckles.

In AZ. Same side effects. Also bottle smells like vinegar. I thought they gave me the wrong medication. Headache, lethargic. Reminds me of when you take Prednisone. Have been on a low dose 2 pills 5/325 per day. Filled on March 5th at Walgreens Blue speckled pills. Called Walgreens. They said they cannot give out information about manufacturers over the phone and cannot order anything specific. The only thing they could do was put a note in my profile that I can only take Activis. So I’m stuck until my next refill on April 4th. I have to go in the store and ask before filling. They also wouldn’t tell me if they would be only carrying this brand in the future. Trying to fill at Kroger was a nightmare the month before. Tech kept telling me they never received the electronic script. Called my doctor back said they sent it over. Called Kroger still said they didn’t have it. Called the dr. office back. She told me yes they do have it. The dr office knows because she said they get a confirmation from Kroger when they receive it. She put me on hold and called the pharmacy. She said the pharmacist said they were already filled and ready. No joke called Kroger (store is called Frys in Az) and once again she told me they never received the escript. I told her I called the dr and they told me not only did they receive it but it was ready. She put me on hold then low and behold came back on the phone and said yes their ready. What the hell was that. Now I’m afraid to go back there although I have a hard prescription this time for April 4th. Sorry for the long post but I am so fed up trying to get these pain meds every month. Now to get something that doesn’t work and bad side effects is ridiculous. I swear the government is trying to kill the older population. I’ve never posted on any site in my life but thank all of you for your information regarding these awful pills.

Re: Lildarlin (# 301) Expand Referenced Message

Lindarlin, I got the results from my MRI I had yesterday at UCLA; Chest, abdomen and pelvis. I had lung cancer surgery Sept. of 2016 (no chemo or radiation) and my scans were clean for all Organs, lungs, gastrointestinal, etc; until Sept of 2017. No esophagus ever mentioned in 5 ct scans and 2 pets in the last year. Now I started Camber the end of December 2017; that's when the burning throat, sternum pain started and squeaking sound in my throat. Still going on but not as severe. The only thing my current MRI (I did get contrast) shows is a esophageal nodule. From what I can tell it is not small. Endoscopy is highly recommended and biopsy. Also, from what ive read it is very rare for lung cancer to spread to the esophagus. Usually lymph nodes, bones, liver, adrenal glands. Ive made an appt with Gastro doctor but going to try to get something sooner. I will be checking in to see what you learned today. Lots to do and think about tomorrow. I'm sure your resting after your procedure.

Re: Bella (# 304) Expand Referenced Message

Bella, I am so very sorry to hear all of your news. Bless your heart and I'm overwhelmed with all u are going through. Remember when we both talked about both of our throats burning and u mentioned it felt like it opened your ulcers? Well i did post one post here yesterday before I went back to sleep 5 hours after my procedure. I posted the Ascent phone number, address, and the woman's name on my letter and packet. I posted this because my stomach in photos after I woke up my doctor could not believe. I had told him "gastroinionist" about the camber percocet way before and that's why my procedure was set up due to my throat burning and nothing would help my stomach and couldn't eat normal foods. Well my pictures were bright red. It was truly an open huge sore. My whole stomach. Said he has only seen few of these in his practice. My stomach lining has been eating away, it's not making the correct acid amount, or making too much. It's very unbalanced. He found 2 spots. They looked whitish with blood veins through them that concerned him. One is to the right of the bottom of my throat which is raw and very red as well. Not near as bad as my stomach. The second spot is in the middle of my stomach under where some of my stomach lining is GONE. His explanation after millions of questions before the test. I don't smoke, I don't drink, and none of my answers of food could have done this at all.

Then came the questions about toxins. He had already smelled the strong vinegar smell of the camber Percocet 10/325 in bottle I took with me, he said the same thing my pain doc said. The color was in consistent. The camber 10/325 are supposed to be yellow. Some of mine are almost white. The dye was mixed incorrectly he said as well as pain doc. He's having one of my pills analyzed by a toxicologist. The inactive ingredients can do no harm if it's the correct amounts in medication HOWEVER his concern is how much Cosprovidone and Providone was used. Usually one or the other is used but rarely both. It's a form of Formaldehyde, and even breathing too much of this is very toxic and can do a lot if harm. Cancer and other diseases. He can't formally put down that's what caused my stomach to change so bad so fast, but his finding was "toxins" it takes a little while to get the text on the camber Percocet back, but I'm grateful we will have an answer. I believe in my heart he knew it was this camber Percocet 10/325 or he wouldn't have gone ahead and have it analyzed by a toxicologist. The different color of dye, the strong smell of vinegar, what has happened to my stomach, it's too much to leave alone. Medications and a diet of foods I have to give up. I'm so angry at what has happened to all of us from Camber and Ascent who makes the pills for Camber. I posted Ascents information in a reply to bulldog. I was thinking I was replying to Jen but I was a bit still woozy.

OMG! Same here! Picked up Perc 5-325 Wed 3-15 Walgreens. Been taking for chronic ddd osteo spondy 2xd since 2015 prev manf ACTAVIS no issues until...vomited immediately after Wed pm dose. Didn't even think to check pill/manf until next day, when vomited again after Thurs am dose. Became disoriented, sore throat swelling, ears clogged/ringing/runny-nose-like allergies: WTH? MANUFACTURER CAMBER PILL STRANGE PALE BLUE-WHITE COLOR WITH DARK "PEPPER" SPECKLES STRONG "VINEGAR" SMELL. Called my local Walgreens right away described problems to pharmacist who gave me the run around no, it can't be CAMBER...until I said I was filing an online complaint. Then said he COULD get Activas again, but I would need a new 'script from doc writing specifying NO CAMBER. So now no meds for 28 days? Googled "camber perocet vomiting" the web sites exploded with complaints. What the hell is going on?

I took one today from walgreens (camber) and I started getting what seemed like really bad heart burn almost like I needed to take a zantac or nexium. The rest of tonight I've been getting weird chest pain off and on. I've always lurked around these sites for years reading everyone's experiences with new meds to try and get an idea of what I was in for. It wasn't until today I felt like I had to say something. The strong vinegar smell is horrendous. I didn't feel any relief which is weird because over 10 years I've managed to have some kind of a life being able to function with different brands this is the first one I immediately felt sick in multiple ways after taking just one I'm seriously worried about taking another but I have to because I have fibromyalgia, degenerative discs, spinal stanosis, and arthritis. None of this is an exaggeration I got messed up in a car accident October 2006 Friday the 13th. I have 2 kids on the way I need to be on my A game for them. This was my last fill at Walgreens.

I can’t understand why the law firm‘s that I’ve contacted for class-action don’t want to touch this and what the hell was the FDA doing?

Everyone is saying that they changed the strength of the Perc 10's. And I'm sure they did their tampering with everything to try and ween all of us ("addicts") of pain pills completely... But why do that? It's just gonna make big Pharma lose billions of dollars. Check my other post (Opiods Getting Weaker) and tell me if I'm wrong. Please give your own opinion and share your story. They won't post my story unless people reply and I think there's a lot of us out there who have a story to share, so please go to keyword: Opioids Getting Weaker and let me know what you think. Thanx

Re: MAT (# 330) Expand Referenced Message

Please share with us what brought you to this site. Maybe you haven't taken the time to actually read all the comments or possibly you have problem retaining what you read. One thing I'm sure of is; you do not understand the limitations of over the counter pain medications in chronic pain or how damaging they can be to your health. If you're ever in a position to not give a damn if you are addicted to opiates in order to function daily; you will think back on your comment. Now if the health insurance companies would start covering the cost of cannabis, acupuncture, massage etc., then they could stop the witch hunt on opioids. When pigs fly!!! If they ever did cover cannabis, you can bet it would be generic poison for the less fortunate.

Rawdog (# 345) --

I personally cannot take Vicodin. It causes urinary retention. I had to take it after shoulder surgery and ended up with a catheter for 3 days while they switched my meds. So it is actually listed as an allergy in my medical information. I was given the option to switch to Dilaudid but it is stronger and I didn't need anything stronger. Camber makes generic Percocet. Among the many problems I had while taking them was the dye. Turns out i'm allergic to blue dye, brand name Percocets use blue dye as well. I made a lot of phone calls and between myself and my doctor we were able to find a pharmacy that carried something other than Camber.

I'm SO sorry to hear about your situation. Since your new to this site n to answer your question about how to find my page of OPIOIDS GETTING WEAKER just go to the top of the page and where it says keyword search type that in.

Now I can't believe you even got to speak to someone from Camber Pharmaceutical. May I ask how you went about it so me and everyone else can call and complain?! I did not know they were produced in India. That right there is a red flag!! And I also can't believe how Walgreens treated you after years of being a customer. I also have been filling there for 2 plus years and know all 3 pharmacists on a first name basis. They ALWAYS have my meds n never give me a problem. Now I've heard that when you drop off your script you can ask for the name brand Percocet or request an alternative brand. And when you go to pick up before they ring you up you can ask what brand they gave you and if it's not the one you want you again can ask to have a different brand ordered. Now I don't know how true that is cause I've never had to personally do it but it sounds like it should work. That's just some of my input and as far as your doc not wanting to write you morphine you mist not be going to pain management, you must be going to a general practitioner and need to get referred to PM. PLEASE write back n let me know what you think. Thanx.

Got my script from Frys (Kroger) in Az. They were 5/325. After taking the Camber Percocet for 3 weeks I wasn’t sure what to expect. They are better for sure. No headache or that weird think your going to have a heart attack feeling. Not lethargic. I do have to say I don’t think they are as strong as the Actavis I was taking before Walgreens switched to poison. Another thing was they took an RX coupon which dropped the price to $16. The chain pharmacy’s won’t let you use the discount cards on controlled substances. Anything to make it harder for chronic pain people to get their meds. So tired of this fake war on opiates. I guess we’ve gone back to the dark ages. Or the old adage well your getting old. So in the 21st century because we are older we should take pain. I call BS. We shouldn’t have to be in pain. Sorry for the long post again. You guys have been so helpful in our ongoing struggle against big pharma.

Re: Bella (# 387) Expand Referenced Message

I will be looking this up. I switched to CVS as they were the only pharmacy within a reasonable distance that doesn't carry Camber. My PCP believes my reaction to the Camber pills stems from dye allergies and an inability to handle certain additives. I have a lot of issues with food for these same reasons. CVS carries Rhodes (at least the one local to me does). It doesn't seem to have the same effectiveness controlling my pain and I had to do a dosage increase. But lately every time I go to pick up my prescription they give me a hard time. Once the error was completely theirs and they still gave me a attitude when I pointed it out. They put it through my insurance at double the days supply it really was. Then when they fixed it they dated it as filled on the day they fixed it and not the day it was actually filled. Then turned me away saying I was trying to fill my next prescription too soon. They also round up days supply. For example post op my surgeon would only supply so many at a time. Unlike pain management, who would always prescribe it as a 30 day supply. What I was getting was enough for 11 full days plus 1 dose (at that time my instructions were to take them 4x a day. But they would input it as 12 days supply. I would always go after work (around noon during the 2 months i was on restricted duty) on the 12th day to avoid any issues. This also meant i had no meds left when I showed up. But by the 3rd fill they turned me away stating it was too early to fill. That filling early every time adds up and that i should have 6 doses left so they wouldn't fill it until the next day. And now that they're claiming my insurance will no longer override it. I'm currently tapering back down to my pre-surgery dose and the pharmacist literally made my dr specify the day by day dosing and changes. She did as he asked and they did fill it but after making her send the specifics didn't include any of that in my instructions and listed the instructions for the full qty as what it is supposed to be on the last 2 days, meaning yet again my days supply is incorrect. And he even came out to tell me that regardless of my dr's instructions they wouldn't fill it "early". So i'm going to be back to trying to find a new pharmacy again since this one can't properly do math or list the dr's instructions as she wrote them. I hope that once i finish my taper that my surgery will have worked so well I won't need them at all anymore. It's wishful thinking but i'm tired of being publicly shamed each time i pick up my meds. Just the other day when i saw my dr she commented on how ridiculous and exhausting it is that she has to constantly call them to explain why they are wrong. But based on your post i'm beginning to think they're doing it purposely.

Re: bubblewrap (# 378) Expand Referenced Message

Camber uses Hetero labs in India. The drug was fast forward on the quick pathway for drugs. The Fda has twice sanctioned camber in India with a 483 penalty bad manufacturing. The Fda inspector also captured on video the shredding of documents the night before the Fda inspected their facility. This outsourcing using blue dye and adding a thicker so it cannot be insects is making chronic pain users sick. Walgreens does not carry any other brand.
