I had such a hectic day, got home at 7 and took it again forgetting I already took it. Will I be ok? I'm a little scared... ## How are you doing? Did you experience any adverse effects? In most cases, unless someone is allergic to a medication, accidentally taking a double dose, just once, will usually only cause worsening of some of the side effects, which the FDA lists as possibly including nausea, dizziness, sedation, lowered heart rate, and lowered blood pressure. But in some cases, this could put some people in danger, so in such situations, it is always best to seek emergency medical advice, via an ER doctor, or urgent care c...

I've been taking the Reaptan brand of Perindopril/Amlodipine (5mg-5mg) & now I am experiencing side effects as such as dizziness, mild headache, stomach pain, hypotension and finger cramps. I fear it may cause more risks to my system. Should I stop taking this medication? ## How long have you been taking it? How are you doing, now? Has there been any change? If you have high blood pressure, or a cardiac condition, it is far more risky for you to let such a condition remain uncontrolled, since they have the potential to be fatal. They could result in a heart attack, stroke, or congestive heart failure. I'm having surgery and need to know if any of my meds are blood thinners: Guanfacine, Isosorbide Mononitrate ER, Metoprolol, Metformin, Losartan/HCTZ, L-Thyroxine, Atorvastatin Calcium, Meloxicam. ## No, but many surgeons will tell you not to take the Meloxicam, before surgery, since it can cause an increased risk of bleeding as a side effect, according to FDA reports. Thus, in most cases you have to stop taking it several days before surgery. It is best to make sure they know everything you are taking, including the dosages, so they can advise you on what you should, or shouldn't take. Is there anything else I can help with?

after 20 months threatment for high bloodpressure (Valsartan comp 160/12,5) I got gallstone and jaundice. Newer had this before. Having high bilirubin, you should not use more than 80 mg Valsartan/day.But if I reduce Valsartan , I must use some other medication to combine with Valsartan, not having increased Bloodpressure. Which combination is possible? Thiazid ?

Carvedilol is prescribed by US doctors, but I would like to know if there's an Indian medicine equal to this US version? ## From what I could gather, there's an Indian brand of Carvedilol that goes by the name "Caditone". This medication is reportedly manufactured by a company called Kopran ltd. based out of Mumbai, India. There is also a brand called Carviflo made by Ajanta, out of India. If I come across any other brand or generic versions I'll be sure to post back. Until then, I hope these two options will suffice. Best of luck to you!

I was diagnosed and given amlodipine 5mg per day. ## My blood pressure is 100/65 when using medicine..but if I don't is 130/80..should I continue using medicine... ## You should take it, as long as your doctor instructs you to do so. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, hypotension, and increased urination. Hello There, Would appreciate if anyone could please answer my question whether my Mom who is 64 years of age now needs to take Concor 1.25 mg once a day at all please. Truth of the matter is that her heart rate is way too low as a result - it`s only about 40 per /minute and blood pressure is about 100-120/50-60. Cardiologist doesn't seem to believe that heart rate is that low and keeps prescribing it. She was prescribed 2.5 mg per day and had a heart rate of 30 per / minute so had to decrease it to 1.25 mg and now it`s about 40-50. I wonder if she should be taking that particular medication at ALL giving the fact of such a low heart rate. She doesn't feel well which is quite obvious isn't it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks in advance. Best Regards...
