Plendil Vs. Norvasc
UpdatedMy doctor is transferring me off of Norvasc (which has worked great to keep my blood pressure under control) to Plendil because of a change in medications covered by my HMO. Has anyone else changed to Plendil and would you share with me if it worked as well as your former medication?

Same thing happened to me, except in reverse. I had been tanking Plendil for years with great success. The Military Pharmacy switch to Norvasc. When I asked my Doctor, he said they were interchangable.
You can safely switch from one to the other, as long as your doctor approves, and the dosage has been taken under careful consideration.
The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension.
I've had to change medications multiple times, depending on affordability, and which ones worked best for me. Just make sure to keep your doctor updated on how well it is working for you.
How are you both doing?
