False Positives For Benzodiazepines On Drug Screens

Can Clonidine, Baclofen, Seroquel or Prozac make you test positive for Benzodiazepines on a drug screen?

please help im on probation and take methadone and seroquil xr as soon as i started taking the seroquil xr i started testing positive for benzos so they did a ms/gc and it came back with positive for benzos, I DONT TAKE BENZOS now looking at going to jail anyone have info, as soon as i took myself off of the seroquil xr 6 days later giving clean test for benzos, class action lawsuit anyone who has given up there freedom in regards to this

I am an alcoholic in recover and have now tested positive for Benzodiazapam. I was given Valium in rehab 2 months ago, and until a week ago I was taking Nuzak and Lilly Fluoxetine for depression. My blood pressure meds, new anti-depressants and anti-histamine's are all listed as not likely to cause a positive Benzodiazapam urine test. PLEASE can anyone give me advice? I am in a halfway house and it is becoming a problem now that I have tested positive twice. Thanks, Ellie.

I read about Valium just the other day. Toucan stay in your system for up to 14 or more days so if you were on for quite a while it is probably going to be in your system for a while. I believe it said up to six months I hope this helps good luck!

I haven't had any luck finding out what could cause false positive for Diazapam. When I had 2 consecutive positive screens at the pain clinic, my pain mgmt doc said there are really only 3 or 4 drugs that show up as that......
1-Ristoril (most likely)
2-Valium (next most likely)
3-.....something really hard to pronounce/spell (but he said it's a fairly rare prescription & therefore not likely)
4-Xanax (also very unlikely & in my particular case; he said it would not be the Xanax I'm prescribed bc it was already showing positive for benzo and the 1 drug would not show positive in 2 places on the urinalysis)

VALIUM IS DIAZEPAM!!!! it will always test positive if it's still in your system . Restoril ( temazepam ) and Xanax ( Alprzolam ) will Also test positive for benzo's if still unmetabolized In essence all 3 meds you mentioned should cause benzo positive results IF THEY ARE STILL IM YOUR SYSTEM.

My doc said the Xanax showed as 1 thing (as it should bc I'm prescribed it & take 8 mg/day), but that a separate drug caused the positive for Diazapam (which should NOT be the case bc I've never taken Ristoril or the other drug he named & haven't taken Valium in years). Thankfully, whatever the problem was seems to have straightened itself out. It just concerns me that I have no explanation for how a prescription drug showed in my system 2 months in a row then disappeared.....
I've had no luck with my search for some combo of my meds or ANYTHING that can for sure be blamed for a false positive. Thanks

Restoril....it's a prescription sleep aid but is non-narcotic

I do believe the culprit is seroquel, unless the clonidine is actually clonazepam/klonopin

I take Cymbalta, Wellbutrin Nortriptolyne and Buspar for depression/anxiety.
I take Metformin for Type II diabetes.
I take Meloxicam for inflammation; Gabapenten for nerve pain; Trammadol for pain; tizanidine for muscle spasms; and Arthritis strength Tylenol and BC powder for back and leg pain.
I take Simvastatin and Lisinopril as well as 80 mg aspirin.
I take oomeprazole for acid reflux

Would any of these cause a false positive for bentos on a drug urine test?
