i am in us for a short stay. I take telsartan 80mg twice a day for hypertension and i am 55 years old.By mistake i misplaced my medicines and in short of this tablet for a week before i go to india. kindly suggest me some equivalent one available in us or shall i reduce the dosage to cover up one week. ## The active ingredient is Telmisartan and it is available here, but requires a doctor's prescription. But what you'd want to look for is a medication that contains this same active ingredient. And no, it is not safe to miss tablets or reduce your dosage on your own, because it may cause dangerous rebound effects, which could result in severely elevated blood pressure or heart rate. Have you tried consulting a doctor here in the U.S.?

I left my medication at home while traveling. If I miss my amlod/benazp cap 10-20mg dosage for three days...is this okay? ## No, it may actually be very dangerous, missing several doses of blood pressure medications in a row might result in a rebound effect, which could cause severely elevated blood pressure and heart rate. You should contact your doctor, or a branch of your pharmacy if there is nearby and see about getting the medication for the days you need while away. Is there anything else I can help with?

I take Lisinopril for moderate high B.P. sometimes still too high ... would Bystolic be compatible with Lisinopril? ## What has your doctor advised? When and how long are the occasions when it's too high? It is perfectly normal for your blood pressure to fluctuate throughout the day and to be elevated at certain times, the only time this would be considered dangerous is if its going extremely high, such as 220+/130+, or if it is hitting elevated levels and staying there for long periods of time. If the elevations are due to the natural fluctuations that occur throughout the day, such as from exercise, activity, or such things as smoking, then it likely isn't staying up and wouldn't require additional medications to be added. That's why you really should consult your doct...

I used to have good blood pressure relief with Atacand HCT 32 strength . The doctors now seem to prefer lisinopril. I thought they were very similar and am thinking of asking to switch back. Has Atacand fallen out of favor for some reason? ## No, it hasn't fallen out of favor, per se, but doctors do tend to prefer to prescribe the medications they are most familiar with. I've been in the ER before and had a doctor give me an attitude questioning the medications I am on, because one is Atacand and it's just not the first choice to be used, anymore. However, I refused to let them make changes or carry on about it, figuring that my cardio doc knows best and she really worked closely with me for about a year, until we found the right medications for me that worked, without makin...

what is the difference in the pink pils with c 74 on them and the white pills I have always been given? ## I can't really say anything with certainty, without knowing the markings on the white tablets. However, it is most likely that your pharmacy has just provided you with the same medication, but the tablets look different and have different markings, because they have been manufactured by a different company. Metoprolol is a generic medications, so it made by several different companies and it is normal for your pharmacy to change which one they carry, depending on who was offering the cheapest price at the time they needed to restock their supply. Did you try asking as the pharmacy?

I am 24 years of age and my bp is 160/80 hg my doctor recommends me aten 25 please send me the detail of the mecine side effects in the long run... and is it good for my age group. ## Well, except for children and the very elderly, medications aren't really specific to any certain age group, even then it is usually just necessary to make dosage adjustments. Atenelol is a selective receptor agonist, most commonly used in the treatment of high blood pressure. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and headache. i think i took two of my ic lisinopril-hctz 20-25mg tab by accident ## Have you contacted your doctor? Are you experiencing any nausea, dizziness, or other symptoms? You should contact your doctor, or some type of emergency medical services any time you think you may have taken too much of your medication, just to be on the safe side. Both of these medications can be used in higher dosages, but it can cause more side effects and may cause your blood pressure to drop much lower than normal.

My sister is on a BP med "Enalapril" for the past couple of years. She has recently started taking Tylenol Arthritis tabs. Are there any indications of drug interaction from this combination? She is 72 years old. ## She should check with her doctor, or pharmacist to be certain, but there are no interactions listed. The Tylenol Arthritis just contains a time released formulation of Acetaminophen, which is actually one of the safer medications for a high blood pressure patient to use. ## At age 60, I am concerned of the risk of organ damage (liver / kidney) from long term use of tylenol or ibuprofen for arthritis pain. So much so that I generally take good old aspirin, 3 tabs two or three times a day. My stomach is fine, I don't bleed easily. My blood pressure med is Atacand 3...

Side effects may include: nausea, dizziness, headache and dehydration. ## I am 61 years old. Taking Telma H 40+12.5 mg for BP control last 2 months. I am not diabetic. I am having difficulty in passing urine. Also sleep has reduced. Somedays in night I wake up at 2 or 3 or 4AM. Sometimes my foot has burning sensation in night or mornings. Feeling very thirsty. Please help me, I am gluten intolerant and do not know what binder is used in this Rx medication. ## Hi Joe, Since each company puts different fillers or inactive ingredients into their tablets, the answer to this question is largely dependent on who the manufacturer of the pill is. Would you happen to know this information based on your prescription bottle? One source I found suggests that it is Par Pharmaceutical Inc.; however it is likely that there are more than just one manufacturer and distributer of the medication. I would encourage you to post back with a pill imprint and/or the name of the manufacturer so I can look up their contact information and get back to you with more details.

I found a small round pill that's sky blue with p 20 on one side and blank on the other side. The p is located over the 20. I couldn't find out what it is I googled it with no luck. Some say its oxycontin 20mg. But how do you know for sure? Does anyone know??? ## Hi renee - the pill which you are describing (round, blue with P over 20 on one side) is Propranolol 20 mg, which is generally used to treat anxiety and panic. It can also be used to treat a variety of other things such as migraines, tension headaches, hypertension, and angina. So, no, it is not Oxycontin, nor even a narcotic / opiate drug. You can read more about this medication on the page for Propranolol Details. I hope this helps! Do you have any other questions or information to add? Please post back if you do...

I started taking above subject drug for blood pressure & a-fib several months ago. Now, the last 2 weeks I have very loose bowels early morning, Then it goes away til the next morning. No stomach gas pains, etc. But I'm concerned about this. ## Have you consulted your doctor? Usually, when you start a medication that side effects hit their peak at around 4 to 6 weeks of use, then start to taper off. So, if you have been on it for several months, there is a chance that the medication may not be causing the problem. However, only your doctor is going to be able to help you get to the root of the problem and discover what is causing it.

I am sorry, but our website and any knowledge of my own is geared to the use of medications and their effects on humans, we really don't have much information on their use in canines.
