I'm taking Metoprolol Tartrate 50mg since June 2012 and it says I can't take multivitamins while I'm on these. I've been having menstrual cramping but when I was taking multivitamins I really didn't have them. Is there a way that I can take multivitamins without interfering with the metoprolol? ## Hi Ann, I find this interaction to be odd, simply because there are vitamins and minerals in all of the foods we eat. I have a matroplol prescription I've been taken for a few months since I had a stent. I have been getting anxiety and my family doctor told me to double my dose from 50mg to 100mg. A week or so after increasing the dose, I've been experiencing dizzieness daily. Could the added motropolol be causing the dizzieness. ## Yes, it certainly could be causing it and it can do so in a few different ways. Sir, i am on Losacar H from 8 months one daily, My bp was 135/90 to 140/100 range always and is still same . its not coming down to 120/80. Now my doctor advised to switch to Envas 5mg. Is this OK. wat may be possible reasons for failure of Losacar H. I take Metoprolol Tartrate 12.5 Mg twice a day and every time I have my PM dose, within one hour I endure the feeling of an irregular heartbeat or palpatations and panic attacks. My doctor prescribed 25 mg at bedtime. It caused terrible nightmares and I was unable to fall back asleep after. I only took it for 3 nights then threw the rest of the pills in the garbage. ## I don't blame you for wanting to get rid of the rest of those pills. I have been taking a half tablet of Amlopress-AT daily for several years. It used to keep my blood pressure (BP) at 130/80, sometimes even less than that. A doctor friend of mine advised me to avoid this medicine, as it contains Atenolol, a beta blocker; as per him, it's not suitable for someone of my age (62 years). He suggested that I switch to Ramcor 2.5 mg. So, for the last month, I have been taking Ramcor daily instead of Amlopress-AT. However, over the last few days, I have found my BP to be quite high - it was 160/80 a few days ago; today, it was 170/80. There has been no change in my lifestyle, diet, or exercise regimen. My doctor has advised me the Embeta Xr 25 extended in place inderal 40 mg which I was taking twice daily as I was having some palpitations of the heart. I am suffering from mirital stenosis of the heart, but the valve contraction is very minimal and i am having this for the past 30 years. My echo was taken, there also it was pointed that every thing is under allowable limits. I am 66 yrs and for the last one year taking Amplopres 5 to control my BP. Recently I developed Tinnaitus ie a mild sound from ear comming all time. ENT Doctor says could be the side effect of Amplopres 5. As prescribed by Doctor I am taking Cardace Am 5mg medicine for the last 2/3 years for blood pressure.The blood pressure is usually within limits of 90-95 and 120-130 and sometimes it reaches 140. I get sound sleep.But onething I observe that I feel drowsiness while working in office or while viewing TV, inspite of sound sleep.Is it due to the effect of the medicine? does this medicine cause arrhythmia and palpitation ## i am 62 years. Having DM Type II but under control. BP ranges from 150/80 to 110/60. Pulse irregular. Recently also started taking Telma 20 with Triglynase 2. Is this a proper treatment. ## To the original poster, yes it can cause those types of issues in some people that take it. After bypass surgery on July 2009, I have been taking SELOKEN XL 25 alongwith other medicines. .Now Doctor has prescribed BETALOC 25.instead of SELOKEN.
