was this medication recalled. how dangerous of a drug is it ## I haven't found anything listing it as having been recalled and I also checked the FDA recalls listing. And the last thing from Wockhardt that I found listed as a recall was a narcotic pain medication over a year ago and that wasn't in the U.S. Learn more Metoprolol details here. I am taking Lisinopril HCTZ 20/25 and I itch from head to toe 24/7. I have no rash. Could the medication be causing the itchiness? ## According to an article on Livestrong.com, "Lisinopril may cause itching or a mild rash on the skin. This is usually a minor side effect that will clear up on its own." However I have also read numerous reports stating that the itching can become pretty unbearable for some individuals, to the point of itching all over. Other people note that there may not be a visible rash accompanied by the itching, but I would still take this as a sign to talk to your doctor about switching medications or using something more natural with less side effects. For the last 2 years I've been taking Losakind 50 mg (1 tablet in the morning) and 25 mg (1 tablet in the evening) daily. After taking first dose of Bystolic 20 mg., 15 hours later had red cheeks lasting all day, no discomfort or other symptoms. Had been taken off of high dose of metoprolol, so put on high dose of Bystolic. Called Pharmacy, They advised me not to stop med. ## Hi Sue, I'm not finding any information listing "reddened cheeks" as a side effect. I did read that some people may experience an allergic reaction that causes the blood vessels to swell, maybe you are having an allergic reaction of some sort? can the change from metoprol 40mg to metoprolol ER50mg cause a persistent cough? ## HI Lois, Based on my research, persistent coughing isn't listed as a side effect of Metoprolol, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen to anyone. My 69 yr old aunt was on 20mg Lisinopril for a month, but her diastolics still ran over 90. Benicar was substituted. are they going to stop production of nadolol ## I haven't come across any specific details stating whether or not Nadolol or any of its brand names are going to be discontinued. Did you hear this news from your local pharmacist? I would probably recommend contacting the manufacturer directly if you are wondering whether or not they are going to continue making that drug.
