can the change from metoprol 40mg to metoprolol ER50mg cause a persistent cough?

Based on my research, persistent coughing isn't listed as a side effect of Metoprolol, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen to anyone. When taking any medication, or especially if you're increasing the dose of a medication, you may experience some rare side effects while your body adjusts. Are you taking any other medications that might interact with the Metoprolol?
