My mom just started taking diovan for her hp and she has diabetes.Sence she has started taken it her sugar level has gone up to 200. Is there anyone else who is on diovan and has diabetes? Any input would be great!CArrie ## Diovan should not cause your mother's blood sugars to go up. Diovan works to protect her kidneys from renal failure, a common disorder with diabetes when not in tight control. She should be monitoring her blood sugars four times daily if they are high and be careful of what she is eating. ## Yes my Mother takes Diovan and has diabetes, since she started her pressure is really low(confused on that). she's 90 ## Yes, I called the company & they stated it should not affect my blood sugar, however, it was 200+ for the 2 days I took it. I just received my first mail order for perscriptions. In the past I received a generic (Amloddipine-benazepril) from the pharmacy that was a hot piink and white capsule. In the mail I received I received the same name different color capsule yellow/orange (348/RDY) respectively on it. Is it the same generic but a changed color because it is mail order? Both are provided by CVS and CVS.com. ## Hi Michele, The color of a medication doesn't usually have anything to do with its formulation. This one could possibly be from a different manufacturer. As long as it contains the same amount of ingredients as the last one you had, you should be just fine. If it really concerns you, you can always ask your doctor or a pharmacist. I hope this helps!

My doctor just changed my prescription of Benicar 20 to Losartan 50 because my insurance won't pay for Benicar. Plus I was having irregular heartbeat. Is this a good change? Or am I going to have problems? ## @Lee, I wish I could tell you, but honestly there's no way to know ahead of time how any drug might end up affecting you since everyone reacts and responds differently. As far as potential side effects go, Losartan does still carry the same/similar risks as Benicar. But this doesn't necessarily mean you'll still be experiencing them. The switch from one medication to the other shouldn't be too far off the edge, since both medications are in the same class of medications called angiotensin II receptor antagonists. They both work by blocking the action of certain ...

I've started bystolic a few weeks ago. My Dr changed the dosage and I am now on 15 mg a day at 8 hour intervals.
