I have been taking Bactrim ds from a local pharmacy, generic manufactured in US for 14 days, no problems. Just refilled rx last night from CVS, pills are from Aurobindo Pharma. After first dose of new rx I am soooo sick, vertigo, headache, diarrhea. I had a problem a few years ago with same manufacturer (difererent med). Anyone else with Bactrim ds vertigo? ## Hello, Pkeye! I have interpharm 800-160 antibiotic. Was wondering what that dosage would be for my 6 year old? My child was prescribed one for acne, the other for an upper respiratory infection. I had a treated uti two weeks ago I was fine until now. I have constant burning in my urethra but not when I urinate. I did a follow up with my gyno and uti was negative. Also negative for sti yeast infection and bv. She gave me bactrim just in case. I dont know if I should take it or consider I might have post infection inflammation which I dont need a anti. I used Bactrim; it takes more time to work than clindamycin. It has taken four days for the swelling to go down, but it has gone down and is almost normal now. I have double strength pills and will take them 2x a day for ten days. I also used the clove oil on my gums and that is working very well. They are going from red to pink again. That said, it will not do anything to relieve pain. The only way it can do that is by starting to work to eradicate the infection and it would take several days for it to do that. Have you consulted your dentist? You are going to need to have the underlying cause treated, to prevent the infection from recurring over and over.

Looking at all the allergic reactions to Bactrim. If there is any way you can use another antibiotic, do so. This medication is seriously dangerous. I say this as a nurse, and also as a victim of a sulfa allergy. I was put on Bactrim for a MRSA infection. Long story short... Developed aseptic viral meningitis for the Bactrim. Ended up in the hospital for four days. Worst illness ever!!!! Look for fevers, severe headache, stiff neck. It will also cause "thrush" or yeast in your mouth. Painful. Rashes, vomiting, and loss of appetite are also common side effects. Avoid this medication if at all possible.
