I have been taking Bactrim ds from a local pharmacy, generic manufactured in US for 14 days, no problems. Just refilled rx last night from CVS, pills are from Aurobindo Pharma. After first dose of new rx I am soooo sick, vertigo, headache, diarrhea. I had a problem a few years ago with same manufacturer (difererent med). Anyone else with Bactrim ds vertigo? ## Hello, Pkeye! How are you? That is actually a normal side effect of this antibiotic, as listed by the FDA. Other side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you for your reply. I stopped the meds per Dr, still dizzy after two weeks, but slowly better each day. Didn't realize Bactrim DS caused such an awful reaction.
I have interpharm 800-160 antibiotic. Was wondering what that dosage would be for my 6 year old? My 14 year old took I tablet twice daily so was wondering if I could just cut the tablet in half? ## Hello, Denise! How are you? Has your child's doctor prescribed this for them? Antibiotics shouldn't be used, unless a doctor confirms the presence of a bacterial infection, because improper use creates the risk of developing antibiotic resistance. Additionally, when an antibiotic is prescribed you need to be sure that you or your child finishes the entire course of treatment to ensure that the bacteria is completely eradicated. Side effects to this medication may include nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. ## I was wondering if there is anything in it that would he...

Have been on bactrim for at least four days. Blood showed up in my urine today. Have a very bad irritation. ## @irritated, Sorry to hear about your experience on Bactrim. From what I could gather, the following symptoms are listed as side effects of Sulfamethoxazole + Trimethoprim (the two active ingredients): - black, tarry stools - unusual bleeding - blood in the urine or stools Ref: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0045169/#DDIC602685.side_effects_section They go on to note that you should check with your doctor immediately in the event that you do experience such symptoms, since in some cases, they may require medical attention. I hope this info helps and that you're able to find an alternative means of relief through something much safer.

i have infection in my legs they gave me amoxicillin then bactrim what is the next stronger anti biotic they may order ## Hello, Wayne! How are you doing? When it comes to antibiotics, it isn't necessarily strength, but rather their effectiveness at eradicating whatever bacteria you're dealing with that matters. That said, I have no way of knowing which one they may try next, if this one doesn't work. They may even prescribe a combination, or decide that you need some high doses administered via IV. Have they cultured the bacteria, so you know what it is? The FDA lists the typical side effects of antibiotics as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
I used Bactrim; it takes more time to work than clindamycin. It has taken four days for the swelling to go down, but it has gone down and is almost normal now. I have double strength pills and will take them 2x a day for ten days. I also used the clove oil on my gums and that is working very well. They are going from red to pink again. You can buy this a CVS or Walgreens in the toothpaste isle. I also have been taking four advil 2x day for the swelling. ## Hello, KLF! How are you feeling? I'm glad the antibiotic worked for you. I recently went to see my doctor for a bladder infection and was prescribed Bactrim Ds 800-160 tab but wasn't prescribed any pain meds to relieve me of the pain and pressure this is causing me. Not getting any sleep at night. ## Hello, Bessie318! How are you? There are actually several products available over the counter that can treat the pain of UTIs, as long as your doctor says it is safe for you to take one. The most common one used is Azo. The side effects for Bactrim may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?
Do it help for a toothache cause im in alot of pain here lord help me ## Hello, Bella! How are you doing? I'm very sorry that you're in pain. This is a generic for an antibiotic called Bactrim that's manufactured by Aurobido Pharma. The FDA lists it as being used to treat or prevent bacterial infections and its typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. That said, it will not do anything to relieve pain. The only way it can do that is by starting to work to eradicate the infection and it would take several days for it to do that. Have you consulted your dentist? You are going to need to have the underlying cause treated, to prevent the infection from recurring over and over.
Looking at all the allergic reactions to Bactrim. If there is any way you can use another antibiotic, do so. This medication is seriously dangerous. I say this as a nurse, and also as a victim of a sulfa allergy. I was put on Bactrim for a MRSA infection. Long story short... Developed aseptic viral meningitis for the Bactrim. Ended up in the hospital for four days. Worst illness ever!!!! Look for fevers, severe headache, stiff neck. It will also cause "thrush" or yeast in your mouth. Painful. Rashes, vomiting, and loss of appetite are also common side effects. Avoid this medication if at all possible. Especially if you are immunocompromised! ## From what I've researched online, Bactrim does have quite an intimidating list of side effects / allergic reactions associated with ...
