Blood In Urine Since Taking Bactrim

Have been on bactrim for at least four days. Blood showed up in my urine today. Have a very bad irritation.

Sorry to hear about your experience on Bactrim. From what I could gather, the following symptoms are listed as side effects of Sulfamethoxazole + Trimethoprim (the two active ingredients):

- black, tarry stools
- unusual bleeding
- blood in the urine or stools

They go on to note that you should check with your doctor immediately in the event that you do experience such symptoms, since in some cases, they may require medical attention.
