can i take 4,300mg gabapentin at one time instead of 4 times a day ## No, it should be taken at the dosing intervals that your doctor insructed. The reason this is done is to maintain a constant level of the medication in your body throughout the day. I was prescribed Neurontin for peripheral nerve pain in Dec.2008.I only took 2 100 mg. capsules,one per day for two days.The 3rd. day I feel very spaced out,disconnected from reality,developed poor short term memoryand got headaches in my fontal brain.I stopped the med right away but 16 months later I still become spaced out every day.My GP has sent me to some specialists for tests.These tests included a shrink(for the standard Alzheimers and dimensia test,results negative),a neurologist(again,memory tests and anEEG(results negative),a brain MRI(results negative),anti-depressant meds,all with no positive results.Mostly, these doctors,once they here my complaints,clam up and drop me like a hot potato!I know from researching the web that neurontin has resulted in many people commiting sui...

I started taking 300mg/day Gabapentin and through my doctors recommendations upped the dosage to 900mg/day - this was about 4 months ago. I very recently noticed a marked decrease in sexual desire and difficulty with ED ( hard to get going and goes away quickly ). In the rare side-effects section for Gabapentin I saw that it could be the cause of this, my question is if I stop taking the medication will things go back to the way they used to ( or are these side-effects permanent )? Thanks! ## Since Gabapentin is an anticonvulsant, it works on brain chemicals and there have been some rare instances where such medications have cause this type of thing as a permanent problem, but as I said, it is very rare. What are the active and inactive ingredients? Can any of the ingredients cause stomach aches? ## Gabapentin is the active ingredient, the name brand would be Neurontin. I took neurontin for approx 5 days - 100 mg for 2 days, 100 x 2 for 2 days and 100 x3 for 1 day. It was prescribed to me for post herpatic nerve pain related to shingles. In the middle of the night after my 5th day of medication, I woke to use to the bathroom. When I sat up in bed, I nearly fell over to the right side. After sitting for a while, I stood and walked, also staggering to the right side. I then had tingling and numbness in right arm, right side of face, lips. Went to ER and had CT Scan, MRI, echo, ekg, and neck vessel study, blood tests; and was admitted for observation. All tests negative. I thought I had a stroke. TIA cannot be 100% ruled-out, but I do not have any risk factors for stroke. I am 50 yrs old female, non-smoker, not overweight, have low -to-normal blood pressu...

I've been taking this medicine known as Desval Er 250 mg for the past 3 months every night. Is it safe to get pregnant while taking this medicine? ## Deval ER contains the active ingredient Divalproex Sodium, also known as Valproate Semisodium. It is not safe to take while you are pregnant, but it does not prevent you from getting pregnant, so yes, you still need to use some form of contraception. You can still get pregnant while taking this and it can cause severe birth defect to the child. ## I have been taking Desval ER 500 for more than 2 years now. Since the last 3-4 months, I have noticed dizziness whenever I sit after a night's sleep or when I lie down from sitting position. Nerotin look like??? ## Neurontin contains the active ingredient Gabapentin, which is an anticonvulsant that has also been shown to help with certain types of nerve pain and mood disorders. It is available as both a name brand and generic, which means it is being manufactured by several different companies and in quite a few different doses, so I couldn't possible describe them all for you. hi grant here. i am on epitec 200mg twice daily aswell as seraqual 50 mg twice a day and at night i double my dose of seraqual. i find myself hermit like and very aggresive most days, while the rest of the time im not interested in anything. i also have lost my sex drive and can't find it.. im more of a hyper maniac than depressed. pls advise. ## Hi grant, The truth of the matter is that both of these medications have a disturbingly long list of unpleasant side effects. It is a circular orange pill with 50 on one side and g on the other. i am cleaning and found a bunch of small (tiny) white round pills. They are not scored. they have a letter "G" on one side and the letters TO 25 on the other side. i think it was one of my old anti depressants but im not sure. any help would be greatly appreciated :) ## Hi Addison, The closest match I've been able to locate has the imprint "G" on one side and "25" on the other; as opposed to "G" on one side and "TO 25" on the other. I've been taking 300 mg of Gabapentin for a while now in the evenings for a couple of pinched nerves. Recently though the affects are not as noticable so I've not been sleeping very well. Is there any reason why I couldn't start taking two pills for 600 mg instead? ## Doubling to go that high is really not advisable, it is usually only increased by 100mgs each time a dosage adjustment is required, this helps you find the lowest effective dosage for you, while still minimizing the side effects.
