Impotence Caused By Gabapentin

I started taking 300mg/day Gabapentin and through my doctors recommendations upped the dosage to 900mg/day - this was about 4 months ago. I very recently noticed a marked decrease in sexual desire and difficulty with ED ( hard to get going and goes away quickly ). In the rare side-effects section for Gabapentin I saw that it could be the cause of this, my question is if I stop taking the medication will things go back to the way they used to ( or are these side-effects permanent )? Thanks!

Since Gabapentin is an anticonvulsant, it works on brain chemicals and there have been some rare instances where such medications have cause this type of thing as a permanent problem, but as I said, it is very rare.

Normally, such symptoms do reverse when the medication is discontinued.
