If your sinus infection is caused by bacteria, then yes, it could work. However, I have read that sinus infections are usually caused by a virus, and in that case the medication would most likely have no effect. I would seek the advice of your doctor if you try the Penicillin V and nothing happens. If I can recommend anything else, it would be to make sure you avoid mucus-forming foods such as: flour products, eggs, chocolate, fried and processed foods, sugar and dairy products. I was given a white and purple box of generic azithromycin from india, I'm trying to find the manufacturer's name so I can tell my doctor. ## I find it strange that the manufacturer's name wasn't on the box of their own product. Is there a logo of any kind on there that may be of some help? If not, the only other thing I would look for on the packaging is the name of the company from where it was purchased; perhaps even a phone number or address to look up. I would think that the person who gave it to you would have some prior knowledge of where it was bought, no?....Just trying to cover all possibilities here.

I am trying to find the manufacturer of generic zpack, it was made in India and came in a white and purple box. I have a lousy cold (heavy coughing, headache,very weak,). Doctor gave me this medication. I take meds for HBP, cholestorol, thyroid. Is this ok to take for this. Im 79 ## He gave you an antibiotic to treat cold symptoms? That really makes no sense, a cold is caused by a virus and this will nothing to clear it up or treat the symptoms. I currently have a tooth abcess that my endodontist is trying to treat. The problem he is having is that I am allergic to the antibiotics that are best at treating this. I am allergic to penicillin, erythromycin, cephalosporins. We tried cipro but that did not do much after 2 weeks. Is there another antibiotic I can try? ## Are you able to take the sulfa based ones, such as Bactrim? It can cause some nasty side effects and there is the risk of being allergic for about 3% of people, which is why I don't usually recommend it to anyone, but it may be your best option. my tongue became scarlet in color taking it. ## Do you think it may be a rash of some sort? I've read that this medication can cause an allergic reaction in the form of a skin rash. It can also cause your tongue to be painful or swollen. I don't know how common it might be for your tongue to turn red, but I would definitely contact your doctor as soon as possible to assess what it might be and take appropriate action for getting it to go away. My friend took his dad's keflex to get rid of a sinus infection because he doesn't have health insurance. He has to do an employment drug test now. He is worried that it will show up and it wasn't prescribed to him personally. ## Keflex will not show up on an employment drug screen. It is an antibiotic.
