The usual adult dose of Ampitrex (ampicillin) for these types of infections are 250-500 mgs orally every 4-6 hours, depending upon the nature and severity of the infection.

-Taking it every 4 hours would come out to six pills a day.

-Taking it every 6 hours would come out to four pills a day.
