Thank you Verwon for your quick response.

Hello all......I have Ocular Toxoplasmosis that requires rather high Prednisone treatments. The last time I took it - 2013 - I had high blood pressure - 180/100. This is a scary side effect and I am very afraid that now that I have a recurrence of the Toxo and have had to start Pred again that the BP will shoot up. Has anyone experienced increased side effects the longer you are on Prednisone or should I just expect the same? ## Hello, ASed! How are you? There's really no way to predict anything with high doses of steroids. According to the NIH "Misoprostol is used to prevent ulcers in people who take certain arthritis or pain medicines, including aspirin, that can cause ulcers. It protects the stomach lining and decreases stomach acid secretion." I have also heard of it being used as an abortifacient drug but not in the United States.

Hi past two or three days I am suffering from fever My Doctor prescribe me Nise tablet, Uneek Tablet. but i heard that nimesulide affect the liver so any alternative is available for nise tablet.. ## Nimesulide is a selective Cox-2 nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory used to treat pain and fever. When they say it is effects the liver, the is because most medications are processed through the liver and long-term usage can lead to some harmful effects, however, if you are only using it for a short period of time the chance of it having any ill-effects are minimal. How long did your doctor prescribe it for? Almost all of the current NSAID medications carry this same risk, so there aren't really any alternatives that you can use. Have you discussed your concerns with your doctor? ## My wife ...

I've taken Excedrin for 40+ years, to get rid of a caffeine headache that coffee can't. How long should I wait before taking a Naproxen after taking Excedrin? Thank you for any feedback. -Ella ## I can't believe that NO ONE would have an answer for the above question. -Ella ## Hello, Ella! How are you? I'm sorry that you've not received an answer, yet. Doubling up on a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory increases your risks of bleeding and developing stomach ulceration, which is why you are instructed not to take them together. It may also cause overdose symptoms in some people, that the FDA lists as possibly inclu...
I finished taking the medicine as prescribed on Sunday mar 13th. Now this morning I'm having some side effects. I have cramping in my abdomen, and diarrhea that looks like coffee grounds. The doctor want to see me tomorrow. Why am I having the side effect after taking the medicine? And now I'm in more pain than before taking the medicine. What's going on? ## Hello, Laurie! How are you? Diarrhea that looks like coffee grounds could be due to internal bleeding, such as a bleeding ulcer, as reported by the NIH, which this medication has been known to cause. That's not a typical side effect and not something that's likely to go away, once you stop taking it. You will most likely need to be evaluated by your doctor and then take something to help it heal, such as an antac...
