Ive been having back spasms. Can you take Naproxen & Cyclobenzaprine together? ## Hello, Dee! How are you? You can, as long as your doctor approves, they are often prescribed together to treat pain and spasms. I am being given pentasa 500mg.. 6 each day, rejunex.. 1daily, velgaut.. 1daily for ulcerative colitis in my colon. Is it ok? I am not finding desirable relief. What may be the duration of treatment? ## Started with Amebia for over 6 years, which turned in to ULCERATIVE COLITIS IN COLON FOR OVER THREE YEARS, Whereafter lot of mucus started coming out with stool or with passing of gas. If excedrin pm and aleve are combined, what happens ## It depends on the amount that is combined. Large amounts of it could cause severe organ damage and/or a fatal overdose. However, a normal dose will usually just result in upset stomach, headache, vomiting and stomach irritation. You may also get really drowsy and dizzy. In general, they really shouldn't be combined, because you are combining medications that all do the same things, so it isn't necessary. The Excedrin PM contains Acetaminophen and Diphenhydramine: and the Aleve contains Naproxen: Also, combining them regularly can result in organ damage, or stomach conditions such as ulcers and gastritis. On Monday night I forgot to take my diclofenac at 5:00pm and remembered it at 11:00pm that night. I usually take it at 5:00am and 5:00 pm. I was in the hospital and receiving prednisone I.v., morphine I.v., flagyl I.v. and phernergan I.v., zofran, and then compazine suppository. Also four antibiotics I.v. I left hospital on Sunday night went to regular appt at pain management Monday morning and failed it for suboxone which I had to google because I didn't even know what it was and when finding out knew for sure I had not taken something that would make my pain meds not work. After being kicked to the curb I poured over hospital papers and wondered if prednisone could cause a false positive. The reason she told you to skip the Naproxen is because it and Prednisone both increased the toxicity of each other, which could result in overdose issues.
