Hi Loana - To the best of my knowledge you need to get a prescription from your doctor for this medication. According to the NIH "Misoprostol is used to prevent ulcers in people who take certain arthritis or pain medicines, including aspirin, that can cause ulcers. It protects the stomach lining and decreases stomach acid secretion." I have also heard of it being used as an abortifacient drug but not in the United States.
