Is there a difference between the to types of drugs? My doctor changed them and I wonder why this was done I'm now on the combo? ## Hello, Susan! How are you? No, they are the same thing, just a different way of writing it, but both are generics for Adderall. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, nervousness and insomnia. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Can you cut the 20mg of d-amphetamine salt combo tabs in half? I have been on the 20 mg for 2 days and didn't feel any difference.

Why does my blue Ritalin 10mg tablet turn my mouth blue when I take it? It stains my fingers, teeth & tongue. Why is that? ## Can you please answer a few more questions for clarification - Are you taking the actual brand Ritalin, or its generic equivalent? Regardless, can you please check your prescription label and try to post the NDC code so that it could be possible to check the inactive ingredients listed for that specific version? The reason I ask, is because in checking the NDC database for Ritalin 10 mg, what comes up is a greenish pill with the inscription CIBA on one side, and the number 3 on the other (NDC Code 0078-0440). Just want to make sure that we're talking about the same pill here. Lastly, if I may ask, is this your first Ritalin prescription? Or, if you have b...

Hi. I found 35 little yellow pale colored pills with a 5 on one side and with a D on the other side. The pill itself is like a capital D shape. Can anyone tell me what it is? ## Hi Gisela, A D-shaped yellow pill with 5 on one side and D on the other is reportedly identified as a 5mg Focalin (dexmethylphenidate) tablet, marketed for use in treating ADHD. For verification, the manufacturer/packager is listed as Novartis Pharmaceuticals and the pill itself carries a National Drug Code of 0078-0381-05. I hope this helps!

Please help! I took a urine test and the results came back as positive for amphetamines and methamphetamines! And this was on a GC/MS test. I am taking generic Adderall and xanax and ambien, all prescribed. Nothing else! How can this be? I have never touched methamphetamine and am not a drug user. Any information or resources would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ## Adderall is considered an amphetamine, which many drug tests look for. It's not the same thing as crystal meth (the illegal drug), so if you can show that you have prescriptions you should be in the clear. Good luck and let me know what happens ! ## what shows on 5 panel drug test instead of amphetimin. ## I have a prescription for Adderall 10mg 1x daily. A urinalysis showed an amphetamine level of 3400ng/ml. Is that norm...

It's a 12.5 mg generic Adderall. A small round yellow tablet, plain on one side & mp 444 on the other side. By Sun Pharmaceuticals. I've just never had a pill that I cannot find an image for on the internet & it's driving me crazy. ## Oddly enough, not even the manufacturer themselves post an image of this product on their website at sunpharma.com/node/120953. However, they do list other pertinent details such as the National Drug Code (57664-644-08), pill imprint, color, shape, etc... I wonder if it has anything to do with Sun Pharma headquarters being located in India with no one to hold them accountable for any discrepancies here in the US? But if it's of any help, you can contact them directly and perhaps they can at least email you a photograph. I went ahead...

I took 60 mg of Ritalin in a course of three days and didn't have anything for three days after, but on the third day I had a drug screen from the methadone clinic. Will it show up? Before that I have been clean for almost two years. I have never failed a drug test since I've been going to the clinic. My sobriety means everything and since I had that slip I'm worried to death. I can't sleep or eat. I'm afraid I'm going to lose everything including my family if I failed. Please help me and let me know if I'm going to be ok. Thanks ## I am assuming you had a urine drug screen!! Amphetamine has a detection period of about 1-2 days (approx) in a urine drug test. My best educated guess would be that you will be negative on the clinic test. If they did a Hair Drug ...

what is the name of this drug?what specific eye condition is this drug contraindicated?what may result if this medicine is taken with MAO inhibitors? ## A similar question was asked, before. However, I am unable to find any contraindications listing that it shouldn't be used with any eye condition. The only thing I can guess on that is that since it is a stimulant, it can raise blood pressure and have other stimulating effects on the body. In the case of someone with glaucoma, the pressure balance in the eye is off and this may make it worse. It cannot be taken with MAOIs or within a few weeks of using them, because it can increase the plasma concentrations of those drugs, which could lead to toxic levels of them in the body. As to the name, it is exactly what you posted, the trade ...

I have been on adderall XR for several years now and it has always worked great. Recently my pharmacy switch me to the generic form, Amphetamine Salts ER 30mg Cap. I am tired all the time now and I all I ever want to do is sleep. Is this normal? Is there a difference between Adderall and the generic form? ## The proper generic for Adderall is mixed Amphetamine Salts, so you may want to double check your prescription. Your body can also get used to the same medication and dosage if you have been on it for a long period of time and it may no longer work as well. This may require a medication switch or dosage adjustment. And yes, there can also be differences between the name brands and generics. The generic is actually allowed to fluctuate in the active ingredient by as much as plus or mi...

How do I find the fillers in the Adderall 20mg XR generic by Shire? It is not an authorized generic so inactive ingredients of one might be different from inactive ingredients of other. Very bad response to shire generic, hoping it is difference in inactive substances versus adderall suddenly being not good for me. Thanks in advance for any suggestions ## I'm not sure what you mean that it's not an authorized generic. If a generic is available on the U.S. market then it has been legally authorized by the FDA. Additionally, Shire doesn't manufacture a generic, they manufacture the name brand Adderall. And the inactive ingredients can always differ from one manufacturer to another, they just have to pick from the list of substances that the FDA has on their list. Can you pleas...

I've been on Adderall since I was a kid and never had an issue in terms of the Teva generics. Like most people I've read about, I don't like the Corepharma at all, but since I moved to the middle of nowhere, I'd have to start getting my 30mg Adderall at Kinney Drugs, which uses this Aurobindo stuff. I am convinced that it's totally causing me some unknown problems. I had a massive foot infection from cellulitis that sent me to the hospital a couple weeks ago. I was on antibiotics etc for 3 days, got over it just fine, and now that I've recently filled it again, I am again noticing my foot inflaming etc, and I've had to start coupling it with what I have left of antibiotics. I have a disfigurement in my feet, called a tarsal coalition, common for people with i...

My son is 9, ADHD and this is the first time that he tries med. He has been on INTUNIV for 8 days, we have not seen any real positive change yet, he is still very impulsive and grumpy. Pretty much himself. The changes related to the med is that he is frequently urinating, he has even wet his bed twice, I'm not happy with this but I have read in several forums that some kids experience this, but my major concern is that 4 out of 8 nights trying INTUNIV he has been waking up at night because his tummy aches. Tonight it is specially bad, that I'm at 4:00 AM posting here. He was awake for about two hours feeling really miserable. Has anyone had had similar experience? The side effects info from the drug does not mention stomach aches as one. I would appreciate any comments out there...

Why is the price of methylphenidate so expensive now? My doctor informed me that it is dirt cheap, and is generic. I was diagnosed with ADD, and was informed it was a cheap drug since I could not afford health insurance. My memory and attention is poor. I am willing to try the drug in generic form. ## I take 10 mg methylphenidate three times daily for narcolepsy. I have no health insurance, but I have been paying $6 for ninety pills at the local Wal-Mart. Today I went to have it renewed and got hit with a $55 bill. I am a senior on fixed income. I would imagine that it is either caused by the increased demand due to upturn in ADHD diagnoses, or some effect of the wonderful new Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare. His Grace strikes again? ## And I am taking the generic...forgot to tell yo...

I found a bottle of mixed pills. They are small orange peachy pills with APO on one side, D and 5 on the other with a score through the center of the D and 5. ## I have a small orange pill with apo one side and d5 on the other. ## Just curious, what is the shape of this orange pill being described? From what I can tell, many other types of pills with this APO marking seem to be of Canadian origin. The Canadian company who makes these goes by the name of "Apotex Inc." I would recommend contacting them directly regarding this pill to see what they have to say about it. Posted below is a link to their contact page: apotex.com/global/contact Please post back if you find out anymore information. ## This is a dexedrine pill by the company Apotex Inc.

Looking for a Boston doc who will write me a prescription for adderall with no questions. ## I’m also looking for a doc that will prescribe adderall without a million questions. Have you found one? ## Why would a doctor prescribe you a controlled substance without asking any questions? Are you looking for a physician or a drug dealer? ## Maybe because I'm a grown adult who has been diagnosed with ADD by a handful of doctors after taking a handful of tests. I've been prescribed adderall for years. The same dose, every 30 days, no early fills, no bulls***. Thought maybe they continue my meds based on my medical history. They can look up my meds on the state database to see I'm not lying.

I take 30mg of D-amphetamine a day. That day I also took zantac for heartburn and a antihistamine for allergies. My test came back positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine. I have not used methamphetamine. ## What over the counter medications can cause a false positive urine test for methamphetamine? ## I recently had to give a urine sample for my 1st visit at a pain management clinic. Is it a street drug screen or just to make sure your taking your meds right? Also, I put water in my urine. Will Methamphetamine still show up on my test results? I dosed the day before my appt. & it was a mistake. But I also take antihistamines for my allergies so what do ya'll think? ## I guess these tests must be nailed down to an exact science because they are admissable in court lol but l...

How Can You Prove A Positive Result For Amphetamines From Urine Test Was Caused By Adderall And Not Some Other Amphetamine ## Well, if someone has a legitimate prescription for Adderall, that should cover it right there, though whomever is requiring the test does have the right to ask for validation. Learn more Adderall details here. Was the testing agency informed that the person is taking it? ## here's how it typically works from my experience. Your initial test came back non-negative for amphetamine. They now send that same sample to a lab where they do a second test on the sample, usually called a CG/SM. This test will actually show whether you have just amphetamine in your system, or if you have methamphetamine as well. With your Addy script the amphetamine will be cool and sho...

I am prescribed 30 mg Adderall 4 times a day and my Dr. keeps testing me! Is she looking for levels? And what should my levels be? ## Most doctors will do drug testing to make sure that you are taking the medication as prescribed and not selling it, or abusing it by taking more than prescribed. They will also check for other drugs when doing the same test. As to what your levels should be, I don't have that information, because it is based on the dose, dosing frequency, your height, weight, overall metabolism, activity levels and etc. Learn more drug testing details here. However, as long as you are taking it as prescribed, you should have nothing to worry about. Has your doctor said there was anything wrong with the results of your tests? ## She has not said anything, but I don...

I am looking for feedback from others re: experiences with Adderall (both XR and standard release) and compulsive shopping as a side effect. Has anyone else experienced this? What did you do? Did you find an alternative drug for ADHD that did not cause this in you? ## I don't know if the compulsive shopping is as much a side effect as maybe that the adderall is changing your impulse control? Can I ask if before starting it, did you already like to shop but then maybe stopped yourself in some cases where now you don't stop yourself? I also wanted to ask how you find your moods to be when taking it vs not on it? Does it lift you up and make your mood feel better or just level you out or cause you to feel down a bit? I am thinking that maybe it makes you feel a bit 'manic' ...

I have seen multiple people ask about adderall doctors in Birmingham, AL. On every question about it nobody leaves an answer. It's about doctors that prescribe adderall in Birmingham, AL. As many people that read these you would think someone would know something... but I guess not! #sux #hatebirmingham ## Hello, Liz! How are you? I think the main problem here is that there is no such thing as an Adderall doctor. It can actually be prescribed by any doctor that has a valid license to practice medicine, but since it has the potential to be habit forming, some will not prescribe it. Some doctors may also think someone is drug seeking, if a new patient comes in asking for it specifically. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, insomnia...
