I get Paxil, Xanax, and lortab the lab came back and said I was positive for either lorazapaem, or Valium which is not possible, what's goin on why would that happen ## Im prescribed xanax but took a valium and test for child services i need to know if they can tell the differance or if they show up the same i take a10scrn/conf drug test

I was taking vistaril and failed a drug test for benzo. I was just wondering if it can show up as benzo? I need proof for court and dont know what to do. ## Yes, vistaril has some similarities with benzos. Vistaril however is prescribed for itchiness, sleep as well as mild anxiety. Although they are two separate drugs, both benzos and vistaril share a very common chemical structure which may cause a drug test to read vistaril as a benzo. im taking suboxone everyday at my drug program...does vistaril cause a false positive on drug tests? ## Vistaril showed up as ecstasy/mdma in my urine drug screen. I am in a recovery clinic and I recently had a urine test come back positve for benzodiapines. I have taken none. I am going from DR to the lab and even the pharmacy trying to get answers as to why. I just took a drug screen and popped positive for pcp. I never taken pcp my whole life I swear. The meds I take are citalopram (celesta) docusate, quetiapine fumarate and hydroxyzine pamoate. How long does Hydroxyzine AKA Vistaril stay in your urine? I have a drug screen for probation soon and I know they don't test for it but I heard it can cause a false positive for benzodiazepines which has me worried. I DO NOT take it regularly and have been taking it every couple days but not every day and only for the last 10 to 15 days or so, when I take it I take at least 50mg but sometimes up to 150mg but mostly 50 to 75mg per use, and not daily and as I said only for the past 10 to 15 days. If it helps I am 35 yr. old male 250 lbs and 5 ft. 8 in. I drink a lot of water and some beers also but will be drinking even more water and less beer until my test in 5 days due to fear of false positive. I take soma, lortab, trazadone, buspar, Vistaril, Zoloft, melatonin, valerian root, naproxen, and occasionally Benadryl. I showed up benzos in my drug test and my doctor uses a good test, so I am puzzled. I just failed a test that was a instant 5 panel test. I tested positive for benzos and am taking paxil, hydroxyzine 50mg, and cumiden. has to be the hydroxyzine even tho i called pharmacist and she assured me it shouldnt have done that, but i promise that i dont take any other medications or illicit substances. All I can do is guess that it has to do with the cheap instant test. At a lab or a clinic they would do a gas chromography or whatever, and it would clear up this mishap! Will taking hydroxyzine hcl 25 cause me to test positive for SUBOXONE on my drug screen for probation? ## Could I test positive for a UA after taking vistaril ## The FDA doesn't list this as being a common occurrence, but there is really no way to be sure how any given medication might affect anyone that takes it, since we are all different. Has this happened to either one of you? Do either of you take any other medications?

I am on several meds and just tested positive via urine testing for Suboxone. I have never taken Suboxone can my other meds cause me to test positive for this drug? I recently tested positive for naloxone. I have never taken that. Please help, my job depends on it. I am taking diazepam, seroquel, buspar, neurontin. I was on an antibiotic nitrofurantoin and I tried a vistaril. Can any of these cause a false positive for naloxone? ## The same thing happened to me when I wax going in to doc to get my perc refill. My doc didn't say Bupe was also in my system and I too had taken: Diazepam, nitrofuratonin, and neurontin, as well as naproxen and robaxin. Did you ever find out if any of those scripts were the causing factor? Because she got hesitant because of the stigma of narcan being used as a drug for people overdosing. Thanks.

I currently take hydrocodone 5mg 4x, albuterol inhaler, ranitadine, vistaril, chantix, mobic, gabapentin and i have a medical marijuana card. I was recently on doxycycline, and nizoral cream. I'm also a caretaker for someone. I handle their medication on an almost daily basis. I went to my doctor and she said i tested positive for oxycodone....there has to be some mistake. Could i have absorbed any from handling the medication ## No, you shouldn't absorb enough for it to be detectable on a drug test, since the tablets are coated. It was more than likely just caused by the Hydrocodone you are taking, if the doctor is using a less expensive, non-certified test. I am in pain management. I drink about four quarts of water a day. I am diabetic. My list of meds are MS Contin, Norco for breakthrough pain , Xanax for PTSD, metformin, clonidine, *bp med*, Lasix for water retention, vistaril for itching, thyroid, Cipro, Medrol dose pack at the time of test, azo for bladder infections, laxatives and softeners. Amytriptaline, Ibuprofen or naproxen with Norco, afrin nasal spray , mucinex, megadoses , and albuterol for asthma and copd as well as combivent. My doctor says my meds came in low and there was valium in my system. I don't think anything is infallible and that some drugs with others can offer a false positive. I love my doctor.
