Are there less gi complications from using the patch than taking the pills? ## In one way or another the drug itself is going to have to metabolize, but I do believe a patch would present less GI discomfort for the sole reason that there are less binders and fillers than there would be in a tablet. It is my understanding that these so-called inactive ingredients are the root cause of many side effects. Not only that, but certain "inactive" ingredients that may or may not be present in each brand, are actually detrimental to how the drug is metabolized and used by your body. I think that's why so many people react differently to the same medication. The medication is the same, but the binders and fillers are different in each brand. I hope this helps to answer your question! ...

I have been on 25mcg for 3 months, with tegaderm tape that goes right over the patch because they are breathable and stick excellent and I have naturaly oily skin and sweat easy. They don't fall off. When I take a shower I refrain from getting them wet. Just don't do it even if it says its ok. Once your short a patch it messes everything up. You patches, your breakthrough meds everything. Then you risk your doctor thinking something weird. Insurence won't fill and you always be behind 3 days if that how you wear them. They work great and I don't feel anything except thank the Lord, I'm pretty much pain free except breakthrough pain.

I was prescribed fentanyl patches in May of 2010. I never opened them, and want to know if they would still be good. ## What's the expiration date on them? Fentanyl is a narcotic and it doesn't become dangerous if it is old or expired, but it can lose effectiveness and since the patches are made with a type of gel, it might have started to solidify a little, which means you would absorb less of the medication. Common side effects to these may include: nausea, drowsiness, constipation and dizziness. Learn more: ## I have fentanyl 50 mcg. Patch That are 2 yrs expired and was wondering if they will still be as potent as intended ,they are not the gel btw.. ## I get 10 mcg/hour butrans patches from my dr. How many mg is that an hour?

iam taking norco 10-325 and fentanyl patch 25 can i also take nsaid ## HI, Tom! How are you feeling? Do you have any other medical conditions? Before adding an NSAID, that type of information is necessary, because both it and the Acetaminophen can increase the risk of bleeding, which could be dangerous in relation to some health issues. Have you checked with your doctor?

Exelon Patch Rivastigmine

Rivastigmine (sold under the trade name Exelon among others) is a cholinesterase inhibitor used for the treatment of mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease.[1] The drug can be administered orally or via a transdermal patch; the latter form reduces the prevalence of side effects,[2] which typically include nausea and vomiting.[3] The drug is eliminated through the urine, and appears to have relatively few drug-drug interactions.[3] ...

It is an overlay to put over the pain patch to keep it from coming off. ## I don't remember what these are called, however, I have heard of some people also having success just using small pieces of medical tape. Have you tried asking if one of your local pharmacies carry them? ## It's called Tegaderm .... use can use any breathable waterproof cover. ## can you tell me is this safe for people who have latex allergies? i tend to have horrible rashes from the duragesic patches and they never stick always falling off.. or sticking to something esle if i use medical tape i get horrible red burns on my arm.. even worse than the duragesic patches cause. so if these films work to hold them in place and do not cause more redness and burning than medical tape i may give them a try ## You...

I have a few expired patches that I found in my medicine cabinet that I guess were never used. Has any1 used a patch that is expired for around a year? I think it is kinda like any other opiates that just loose its potency after expires. Please let me know ig any1 else has tried an expired patch. ## Some medications turn to poison and can kill you if they are expired. but the most of them are just going to work less or not at all. But there is no reason to chance it. And if you have a patch sitting back there for X time you must not need it and if you did you would get a new Rx/ ## No they should be safe. I read the reviews and I question if they were written by the manufacturer. I was on Butrans. Started on 10 mg and was eventually switched to 20 mg. When I was switched to 20, at least noticed it did something. I was miserable. I had been on hydrocodone and Opana and I was switched to Butrans by pain management dr. I kept begging to be switched back to anything I had been on because Butrans just didn't cut into the pain. I was not given anything for breakthrough pain (I have switched doctors since). Anyway, it was very mild and had serious side effect of depression and I believe some weight gain. Would not recommend it to anyone in chronic severe pain. Had same problem as others in that it does not last for 7 days. I changed doctors and was put on combo of Oxycontin, Nucynta and Tra...

How long do you keep a patch on someones backside for an ucler with diabetes ## Each one is usually left on for about 3 to 4 days. Anybody in United States Rx'd these? Im on 8/mg. sl suboxone/naloxone owe day-for 18+ months. Wondering if US addictions Drs. Would consider the switch as I feel I'm getting closer to being buprenorphine free !!! Although not in the near future of 2 months or less. Can anyone relate please reply if so. Thank You all ***Btw*** I am not "after/seeking" 4 patches per month to use and or abuse I am curious if the mcg dosage released in the transdermal patch is a better way to titrate/taper opposed to 8/2mg daily of suboxone. ## Hi Skip, Based on my research, trans-dermal patches are a more effective way of delivering medication directly into the blood stream. Using a patch to taper may be slightly more difficult since you will have to cut the patch into smaller sections and ...

I have had no problems with the xulane patch except for nauseous feelings and the adhesive. How about anyone else? ## Have you experienced any of the other side effects that the FDA lists, such as headache, breast tenderness, menstrual cramps, fluid retention? I kind of wish they'd have had these when I was younger and using contraceptives. Can anyone else that's used these patches chime in? ## I have been on Xulane for a month now and I already hate it. I don't want to be too TMI but I've been having really bad discharge (brown) and I'm having my period when I'm not supposed to. My breasts are swelling, I'm having terrible cramps and bad headaches. Hi I have been prescribed Percoset 10/325 for about a year, before that was on Lortab 10/500 for 6 years, my new pain management doctor has mentioned that there is a new pain patch that contains oxycodone and asked if I would like to try it. I told him no for now because frankly it kind of worries me. I have been on opiates for so long that I am naturally addicted to them, I have a torn trapezius muscle, need a knee replacement which they won't do yet because they say I am too young, have sciatica and degenerative disk disease along with carpal tunnel, so I have legitimate reasons for being prescribed the pain meds, what I am worried about with the patch, is will I have withdraw symptoms since I am not physically taking the pills, also, I tried using the nicotine patch years ago and...

Hello! I need help, please! See, I've agreed with my provider and am going on a 7 day patch plan. Typically I stay away from patches as I'm obese and one size does not fit all, however, he's convinced me to give it a go. I have tried a pain med patch once and I couldn't get it to stick to me. I was scared to death at the time, but now it's a great chuckle. Problem is I dunno what the problem is, I have very sensitive skin that is less than...textured?
