Used Efudex on back of my hand a year ago with little reaction. Had to use again & this time hand turned into Krakatoa! Scabs & weeping spread beyond immediate application site but understand this can happen. However, also have tiny pin head size blisters among & around the crusting with accompanying itching which I haven’t noted in other experiences on here & wonder if it’s an allergic reaction or part of the “process” & I just need to find something to ease the itching. Any advice really welcome as this time of use is becoming quite scarey ## While those can be normal side effects, it is always best to have your doctor check things out to be sure. Other side effects to Efudex may include skin color changes, swelling, and dryness (the last of...

I'm allergic to aspirin. Can I take cyclobenzaprine? My doctor prescribed it to me a year ago for back pain but never took it. I'm having really bad pain due to a fall now and I have the pills of cyclobenzaprine from last year. They are 10mg round tablets. ## Hello, Fabiola! How are you? You can still take it, if your doctor approves and it isn't expired. However, you should be aware that this is not an actual analgesic. Cyclobenzaprine is classified as a muscle relaxant, so it only helps with the pain and spasms causes by muscle strains and injuries. It's typical side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with?

I recently took amoxillian for a sinus infection---this was not strong enough to cure. My doctore prescribe me Augmentin---within 20 minutes I was dizzy, weak & vomiting. This went on for 2 hours plus----until I passed out & no longer had anything left in my stomach. I have strained my neck, broke blood vessels in my eye and feel like I was ran over. Can you tell me if this product has any sulfur or condiene in it. I am highly allergic to both of these drugs. Thanks for any info you can give. SF ## Augmentin contains the active ingredients Amoxicillin + Clavulanic Acid. Not sure if there is sulfur in there, definitely no codeine though. ## stop taking that stuff! unless your sinus infection is worse than the side effects but, I'd say the side effects are much more worse than...

I took my first dose of ampyra today and after 7 hours I had a terrible reaction. I have bad neuropathic pain in my legs, and about 7 hours after the dose, I felt like the neuropathy had been kicked up about 100 times. I literally felt like my legs were on fire. I jumped in the pool and immediately called the neuro's office to report the problem. I was told to stop it immediately, which I am very disappointed about. I had an allergic reaction to Tysabri, couldn't take Rebif, have problems with high dose steroids, and now this. I am pretty much to the secondary progressive stage, although I had a massive attack 15 months ago, and am now on Copaxone and Avonex duo therapy since 2/09. I was really hoping Ampyra would help with the walking, (now on a walker) but because of all my al...

How is your son doing? So sorry about the problems that he's having. And yes!!!! An allergic reaction can occur that long after starting it. One of the active ingredients in this is a sulfa based antibiotic called Sulfamethoxazole and it happened to me last year. I recently went to the ER with a hemiplegic migraine. I have inherited these from my Grandmother and was diagnosed 3 years ago after suffering horrible headaches since my youth.I use tramadol and fioricet to control them and usually end up once a year in ER for shot of Nubane(SP) I told the ER Dr I could not have Imitrex as I had allergic reactions in the past. She gave me the shot anyway. I was on the couch for 2 weeks after the shot unable to walk talk or eat. I returned to work as I had no more vacation or sick time left. I worked a full week and then was put on medical leave by my supervisor. There were times I could not comprehend (I am a medical secretary in Physical therapy dept at the same hospital where shot was given) where I was or what I was there for. I also wet my pants, h...

I took benedryl evey 6 hours for 2 days. After reading the Lizness website, I found I expierenced "Rare" side effects and I have called Actavis to report my adverse reaction. ## Yes, those are typical symptoms of an allergic reaction, as listed by the FDA and it usually means you will need to refrain from taking this medication in the future, as these types of reactions can get worse with repeated exposure. Could you please let me know of other drugs in the vasotec family? I was told not to use vasotec or any other drugs in this family due to the reaction of severe coughing after I had been on this drug. I was told there are at least 7 drugs in this family. I took a 10 day dose of Ceftin and then broke out in hives and took 6 days of steroids and benadryl and Pepcid for that. Benedryl was making me unable to function so stopped taking it and began taking homeopathic drops for hives. It has been 23 days since the first dose of Ceftin. How long will this take to get out of my system? ## After 23 days, it is already long out of your system. If you still have hives, then I am suspicious that something other than the Ceftin is causing them and you really need to speak to your doctor.

I would like to know if there are any sulfa product in this medication? I am diabetic and have nerve damage in feet and Neurontin does not work for me. ## I am also allergic to sulfa products and was just placed on Lyrica for fibromyalagia. Since my doctor knows about my allergy, I assume there is no sulfa in this product. ## There is a sulfate in the name brand of this, sodium lauryl sulfate, not sure if that counts for your allergy or what, as I am not familiar with it. Here is a page that lists all the ingredients for the name brand: Lyrica Ingredients Since the inactives can vary from manufacturer to manufacturer, you would need to check the ingredients for any of these that you are prescribed. By FDA regulations, the active ingredient, in this case Pregabalin, can differ from the n...

Anyone besides me having issues after having taken Cipro? Was discontinued by my doctor after 3 days. I have burning sensation in my hands and legs. Soon afterward, going up the stairs, I felt the innermost part of my knee begin to hurt. Ignored it until it became harder to do. Returned to the doctor who ordered an xray. No bone involvement. Appt with orthopedist tomorrow. Tried to wear a support bandage but makes it worse. ## Hi Bonita, Sorry to hear about your experience with being on Ciprofloxacin. Just startec taking nitrofur 100 mg twodays ago . I jjust noticed that I have a huge bump under my arm pit looks like might be a boil is this allergic reaction , also have really bad headache ## Hello, Cindy! How are you? No, that would not be concerned an allergic reaction. The headache is a typical side effect, as listed by the FDA, you may also experience nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. As to the bump, if it's a boil, that's used caused by a small local infection. Alternatively, it could be a swollen gland due to your body fighting the infection that's being treated. But you should have it checked out by your doctor to be sure. Is there anything else I can help with?
