According to a Harvard Medical School family health article, except in rare cases (i.e. tetracycline), there is little chance of danger due to taking medications even up to 15 years beyond their expiration date. This conclusion was based upon a study conducted at the request of the US military due to stockpiles of expensive drugs they could otherwise need to replace every few years. The conclusion was that 90% of those drugs remained effective 10 - 15 years after...

3 REPLIES UpdatedI have a very small round yellowish pill with no imprint on either side. What could this pill be? Bencoprim? ## Hello Carla, Without an identifiable imprint on the pill there is no way anyone is going to be able to give you an accurate answer. Though I can't identify the pill I can provide you with some information that may help a little. Only controlled medication in the U.S. needs to have an identifiable imprint so over the counter medication would not need to have one. In addition the FDA does not require supplements, vitamins, candies/mints or dietary pills to have imprints either. Another problem is that companies of these types of products can change the appearance of their tablets/pills as they want to so even if you knew the product it can often be difficult to find the exac...
