ketosteril was prescribed by my doctor in treatment of suspected kidney failure. The drug is very expensive here in the philippines, is there any substitute for Ketosteril 600 which is much cheaper?

MY CREATNINE IS 2.8 and hb is 10.1 all other factors like blood urea ,uric acid
k and Na are in control
nephrologist says that it cannot be controlled
I am diabetic but my gulucose level for last 3 months is 134 and index is 6.6
can I use ketosteril 1MB --for reducing creatnine level
it was 2.34 a few days back and 2.66 50days back
I am on low protein,less water,loow salt,no green vegetable,no citrus fruit etc

Go to generics pharmacy.. they have ketolog and that is cheaper than ketobest... i am also buying that for my papa...

I have pkd. Im an ofw and im having trouble to my medical clearance coz my creatinine us 1.4. i try ketobest for 1 week. Im taking 3 tablets a day. After a week my creatinine became 1.23, this week is my last chance to pass my medical clearance. If i pass the medical thanks to ketobest.

Do you think the USA should give green light to every medicine in the world? My doctor in the US found out by me that this medicine was prescribed to me in mexico. My kidney function is 11%, since I started this medicament I have felt better.

Kaya bang pababain ng ketestoril ang creatinine level na 1.34 nag medical ako kase yan sabit ko inom lang ako ng tubig at monday kuhanan ako ng dugo. Pero kung kayang pababain ng ketestoril hangang sabado ay bibili ako. Ilang tablet ba dapat inumin limit kase namin 1.2 o kayanin yan ng tubig lang. Thanks.

Ask your pharmacy about a leaflet of your drug. It is a complete information about the drug that may clear up your doubtfulness. If still doubtful, you may ask for the explanation of your doctor with regards to the said leaflet. Ketosteril is most wildly used in the hospital given by well-known doctors.

Drinking 3 liters of water a day plus dietary regimen may be trully helpful. My mother's creatinine was 1.2 and I advised her to drink banana water ( boiled banaba leaves) and the creatinine went down to 1.1. But after 3 months became 1.3 despite drinking banaba water (it is considered diuretic), another 3 months became 1.5, and after 3 months again 1.9. Non-hypertensive and non-diabetic but 80 years old and taking several medicines for the heart to prevent blood clotting, anti-angina, multivitamins, blood pressure maintenance ( despite BP maintained normal). I strictly advised her to drink water at least 2 liters a day. I gave her a container so that she can follow my instruction well. Plus limiting sodium and potassium into normal. After 3 months her creatinine level was 1.6. Her doctor advised her ketosteril/ renalog 600mg 3x a day. I prepared ketosteril and we are on the 2nd month plus following instruction on the leaflet of ketosteril to limit protein to 50 gms a day. Sadfully my mother eats protein 50 to 100 gms a day. My point is drinking a lot of water at the very early stage of kidney problem is might be trully helpful.
