I have just moved to Harrisburg, PA. I found a pain management clinic who will prescribe my methadone (I have been taking Methadone for pain management for 5-6 years), however they have asked that I find another doctor. I was told by pain management clinic that I am the only patient they prescribe methadone for. Does anyone know of a doctor in the Harrisburg, PA area that prescribes methadone for pain management?

I need pain management!! I have 2 fractured thorasic vertebre and ptsd so i also nerd anxiety treatment. I have been trying to get off. Lortab fpr 2 yrs!!! I to. Knowok subo tone for 9 months it does not kull pain and so i tried to quit that. withfrawls r unreal fir mont i need a dr to prescribe what meds i was on any in lebanon pa????

Please anyone who can help me find a dr in Alabama that rights methadone for pain management,I was injured in a wreck 10 years ago,my sciatic nerve is crushed,have been on methadone for about 8 years and I can't find a doctor to take methadone patients,and I am in so much pain,don't know how much longer I can work and take care of my family,please any help appreciated.

Executioner- if you or someone can help me find a doctor to perscribe methodone/ Ativan in Dallas area i would truly be grateful. I had a failed artificial disc implant surgery and have pain 20 hours a day. xxxxxx {edited for privacy}. I don't know why I can't just write contact address on this site;( it's legitimate people just trying to help each other). Im taking morphine related meds now but methodone isn't as harmful to my body and is cheaper and helps more. I don't understand why methodone has such a weird stigma about it, anyone who has taken all the stronger morphine related pain meds knows methodone is a more responsible choice if you don't want to get physically or mentally dependent. Please reply someone and I will also help anyone on here I can in Dallas area.

I have been goin to the methadone clinic for the years it saved my life before that i had been in the subuxone program all it did was stop the withdraws it didnt stop the thought in my mind that i needed pain pills, because i truly have medical issues and real pain, first off i am a diabetic with high blood pressure high cholesterol and i have had like nine surgeries for my kidneys. so needless to say the suboxone did help with withdraws.But when i started the methadone clinic it helped me with everything,one of which being the pain and like i told them when i started i was inpain but once i was in the program about a week i could tell that it was help mentally,physically, and emotionally. And now i just need helpith findin a doctor in gastonia that will write me the methodone in the pill form because llike i said i am a level 5 stable and wanting to continue on the path of sobriety but the insurance will cover the insurance form. And with me having a son who is a senior and then going off to college, and then his brother is right behind him, and they do not deserve to suffer due to my misfortune. Your help will truly be appreciated

Methadone is good to get you off of this,the main thing is to be consistent and dose daily,I know you need this help,a methadone clinic can help and give you therapy and you want have to suffer withdrawals,I really think this is what you need,your life will change completely,stay away from the people you have been around,that will be the hard part but evidently you want this help,you need it,I want help for you,please do keep in touch with me,I would love to help you out<3

Dear MMT, Wow! I am shocked at your post. I am impressed with the people on here that are trying to get help for themselves. I'm wondering how you feel about a cancer patient that used to smoke. Do they deserve to suffer and be in pain because of a disease they have? Should we tell them they deserve the disease they have because they smoked? Should we not get them any help even when they ask for it? You are entitled to your opinion however, you should probably check your facts about the disease. There is a difference between addiction and choice. Addiction is a disease not a choice. Nobody would choose to be addicted to drugs or alcohol just like nobody would choose cancer or diabetes. I just hope the people who are reading all the negative posts are strong enough to keep looking for the post that helps them. Please do not let the negativity of others determine your future. You are worth it.

I am a resident in Portsmouth Virginia,I also attend the methadone clinic, for treatment ,I've been on it for several years , if I can find a doctor, it would be greatly appreciated, because it's a lot of hassle going to the clinic,
where as, if you get it from a
doctor, you only have to go once, every 3 months, it's also a lot cheaper, if you could help me to find a doctor that prescribes it would truly be a blessing.

Can anyone please tell me why Methadone is such a big deal and so hard to find a pain doctor to prescribe ? I have been a pain patient for 8 years had artificial disc implanted and it failed. I have been prescribed all types of morphine /hydrocodone/Fentynal patch etc etc. Methodone works as well as anything and is cheaper and less addictive IMO . Why is methodone such a big deal?? Does anyone know doctor in the Dallas area that will prescribe? I know one but my relationship with him is not good. He underestimates my pain and I have to fight him every month for treatment.

I am looking for a pain management clinic that will prescribe Methadone in the Philadelphia area, Allentown area, Harrisburg area, or Lancaster area or in towns in other states that are about 2 hrs plus or minus from Philadelphia. I've been on Methadone since 2005 for chronic severe pain. I just moved back to PA from Phoenix and it seems that the Philadelphia area is a very difficult area to find pain management clinics that will prescribe narcotics. I have degenerative disc disease in my cervical spine and have had since 1991 or before. Doctors tried so many different things - physical therapy, injections, massage, anti-inflammatory drugs and nothing relieved the pain. I was on Suboxone for 3 years for pain management, but when I moved to AZ most doctors had not even heard of it then let alone prescribed it. Sometime innn early 2012 the pain management dr I was seeing inn Phoenix informed me they have stopped prescribing it for pain management which is a real shame. Methadone works great - to the point where the pain is minimal at best. The only reason I wouldn't want to go back on it is the horrific withdrawal. And, for the counselor who wished all of us went through withdrawal - wow - I hope someone finds out about your views of people being on narcotics for chronic pain and fires you. What you said is cruel, inhumane and really ignorant.

You know why do you post a reply that is sarcastic? Just because you don't want to take it and stay in pain - do you expect that of others? Methadone happens to be an excellent inexpensive drug for chronic pain. I stayed in excrutiating chronic pain for years and it was only because at that time I didn't know about pain clinics or pain doctors. That's a choice you've made not to go on it. Don't put others down for their choices - they're not asking questions for which your reply is appropriate.
