I have just moved to Harrisburg, PA. I found a pain management clinic who will prescribe my methadone (I have been taking Methadone for pain management for 5-6 years), however they have asked that I find another doctor. I was told by pain management clinic that I am the only patient they prescribe methadone for. Does anyone know of a doctor in the Harrisburg, PA area that prescribes methadone for pain management?

is there a dr close to warsaw mo or up to80 miles close to me that can prescribe me mrthadone iam already on it but my current dr refuses to up the doseage I have been on it 20 months and feel the dosage need changed I take 10mg 4 x aday

I live in north Florida. And have been on methadone for 8 Years after i wrecked my motorcycle. My Doctor has been practicing medicine for over 25 Years. I never had any problem getting my medication before. But Now Florida Is Ground Zero For The DEA's war on pharmacies, pharmacists and doctors. Now it is all but impossible to get a Legal Prescription Filled. Last month I drove for 5 Days all over Jacksonville Florida Before I got lucky and found a pharmacy that had just enough medicine to fill my prescription. The DEA Has caused fear by doing drug raids on the big Pharmacies like Walgreens, and CVS's. And the Pharmaceutical Wholesalers. This slows the supply chain to the pharmacies so they cannot fill the prescription. This is how the DEA gets you to leave your pharmacy you would use every month. So now you are going from pharmacy to pharmacy. AND IF THIS ISN'T HAPPENING TO YOU NOW, GET READY IT'S COMING. THE ONLY WAY WE CAN STOP THIS IS TO COMPLAIN. CALL EVERY CONGRESS PERSON, CALL ALL THE SENATORS, CALL THE PRESIDENT, IF WE ALL DON'T STICK TOGETHER AND MAKE COMPLAINTS NOTHING WILL GET FIXED. WE HAVE GOT TO LET THEM KNOW ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. THE DEA IS CAUSING WIDESPREAD SUFFERING. THE DEA CREATED HUNDREDS OF PROBLEMS TRYING TO FIX ONE. THE DEA IS WASTING BILLIONS OF DOLLARS, ON A WAR THAT THEY WITH NEVER WIN. SO MAKE SOME CALLS AND SEND SOME EMAILS AND LETTERS WITH ME. CALL THEM EVERY DAY. I HAVE, ASK WHEN WILL SOMETHING BE DONE. TELL THEM THEY WORK FOR YOU AND ALL AMERICANS. TOGETHER WE CAN CHANGE THIS.

You ever think that maybe some peoples pain is more severe than yours..? That is good u apparently have a high tolerance for pain or ur pain is not that severe. But without knowing others conditions that is a very strong opinion to put out directed to thers.

God bless you for tolerating your pain but everybody has their own tolerance level and that should not be judged. I experienced the level of pain that would knock a horse down. If your pain ever reaches that level you would want to.

If. U r looking 4 pain relief on a very short term basis try st lukes in bethleham pa i told the truti and he prescribed pain meds that work and gave enuf for several days i am not sure of his hours

BTW. I don't know if this is the Truth or not but the head nurse at my clinic, who is very very knowledgeable about this type of thing. He's worked as an RN dispensing Methadone for like 35 years. He says in this state (Pennsylvania) He told me that by law in this state a physician isn't allowed to prescibe more than 20MG's per day of methadone. If you want to take more you have to get it from a clinic. Although I know people that get 120 MG's or 3 40 mg wafers prescribed to them a day from there family physician. He says although some, not many but some will do that even though there really not supposed to. Is this true? I'm just going by the word that a long time nurse at my clinic told me. I'll google it and see if I can't find out for sure. I think a Pain Management Clinc or a Treatmen Clinic can both go over the 20 mgs but you have to earn the privileges to get a weeks worth at a time and just go 4 times a month.It's a Pain but I've been through worse. The place is open EVERY DAY. Even christmas. It used to be closed Sundays a holidays. EVERYONE got a take home bottle for Sunday, and alot of holidays fall on Monday's so you'd sometimes get 2 take home bottles. about 3 years ago that changed big time. Now they are open every single day. Luckily though I had earned my 1 day a week take homes before the open 7 days a week law went into effect.

I've been on methadone for about 6 years now. I go to a clinic mainly because I got hooked so bad on all the stuff that was being prescribed to me from pain clinics, EG: Oxycontin, Fentynil Patches, Percocet. So I started going to a methadone clinic not only for my pain but I became an addict from all the drugs I got from the pain management clinic. I don't know if this is true of all clinics but after I was stable and gave clean urine tests and swab tests for like 6 months I started getting take homes.. Now I'm at the point where I only have to go one time a week to get my bottles filled. Doesn't everyone else have that option too if your not taking other drugs and your otherwise doing well??
