My husband and I have had our daughter, which is now 30, tested for everything and the doctors can't seem to be able to give us a diagnosis, and things are not getting any better. My beautiful daughter has struggled and suffered so much and it breaks my heart to know that the Yutopar that was given to me, affected my baby. My daughter is the one who suffers from it on a daily basis. My second child is normal, and I did not take the drug while carrying him. I would really like to talk to all of you, something needs to be done to care for these kids that are now adults that can not cope. They sleep, eat, are extremely depressed, suicidal thoughts, learning problems, unable to conform to society, lies, bi-polar, anti-social, can't function in everyday life and with everyday problems.We need help. Hello. Also had THE medicine as a baby in the womb . Im 39 now and had many struggles in life. After a long Path of Natural medicine and deep self study i find myself very Stable and happy. I wrote more messages before here on this forum with information on how I worked on this issue. So dont give up. There is hope and there is a way out. If i can do it..... Good luck, keep up!!

I'm about ready to throw in the towel. His life gets worse everyday. Depression, anxieties, psychosis, talks about suicide as an option if we can't find help. Only answer from doctors is medication and none of that has helped so far. He deserves to have a life. We need more people that took this drug for preterm labor to come forward, whether their children are suffering or not. We need to hear from them all.

My son is 29 and has mental health issues. I took ritodrine for 6 weeks 24 pills a day, once every hour as prescribed for pre-term labor. My second child is fine, didn't use ritodrine. I want answers.

We were finally able to get an MRI done, only after insisting on it. A small "spot" was found on/in brain but doctors didn't seem concerned. They also had no idea what caused it or how long it had been there. Have been told by all doctors seen that the treatment would be the same (meds) for his symptoms. We are still searching for the right meds for ALL of symptoms. We've finally found a good, caring doctor that is working on that. Seems like this is going to be a lifetime ordeal even with meds. Therapy and counseling will always be needed. I would like to hear from anyone else that has had any type of brain scanning done and the results. I've read that Yutopar affects soft muscle tissue, so now I'm wondering if the "spot" found could be a result of the Yutopar, if that could be the the root of the hell my son is going through. Just knowing what is causing this would help us to move forward. Once again, not blaming doctors for trying to save my baby's life, but angry as hell at the maker of drug and FDA for allowing its use. So if anyone has had brain MRI, SPECT scan, PET scan, etc. can we please hear from you.

Dear people. This medicine damage is not hopeless! It includes big big lessons on how to deal with heart pain and rejection of love on the soul level. My mother had an infusion in the veins for 2 weeks and polls for weeks. I recognize all symptoms and I have to deal with it everyday. I follow a path with natural medicine. Homeopathy Natrium sulfuricum and annacardium fit this picture. Also rhodiola and astagalus and CBD oil repair this damage. I also am a member of Santo Daime church and drink Ayahuasca or Santo Daime, which is giving a lot of healing and insight on a soul level and balances out the hypofyse adrenal Ax which becomes impaired by ritodrine. Also Centaury, Holly, Pine, Star of Bethlehem, rock rosé, agrimony, cherry plum tracks of Bach flower remedies work on balancing out this damage. (Do not take all these flower remedies at once. Seek advice from a Bach flower therapist...) There is so much to heal and so much help! Know this!

It is like reading the story of my son's life. He is 34 and has dealt all his life with the same problems as you. So glad you have found a "path". He is still struggling, behind bars, but soon he will have another chance to make his new path, armed with new information. Thank you for your story. :)

I took Yutopar in 1989 for 12 weeks both orally and thru an IV (mulitable hospital stays). My 27 yr old daughter, who has a multitude of similar symptoms as the other now adult children ,has a daughter. A product of a partial molar pregnancy, a rare condition, she now has issues. Has anyone else had grand children yet and they too have issues ? No one else in our family has these issues occur.We all need to chat. THE GRAND KIDS MAY ALSO BE AFFECTED BY THIS DRUG.

I'm sorry to hear that your child has also suffered from this drug taken during pregnancy. Please file a report with the FDA explaining the effects that your son has suffered due to this. Best to have it documented, just in case. Hopefully, if enough people do the same, they will be forced to address this problem. My son still suffers severely, it's so heartbreaking.

During my pregnancy with my son, I went into premature labor going into my 6th month. I was given Yutopar by drip for a week in the hospital and orally in bed rest until his birth. He has suffered from depression, Social Anxiety and suicidal thoughts since he was a young boy. I never connected the symptoms to this drug until I for some reason looked it up. I am angry and frustrated but I may have lost him had I not taken what I was told was a new drug not ever "experimental" drug. Thank you for allowing me to see other parents that have the same or similar problems with their children.....even though my son is now 30.... he has never been happy!

FDA sent email that report was received. Clicked on email and there was nothing in it, just title saying it was received. So...that's that. Anyone with concerns about Yutopar/Ritodrine taken during premature labor, please at least report it to them. Best to have it documented in case something eventually is done about this.

I see that these posts go back to 2013, but I have just made the connection between my sons emotional and mental issues and Yutopar/Ritodrine. It was given to me for premature labor at 7 months in 1991. I continued to take it until delivery. Was in labor for 22 hours before a c-section was done. He was born 3 weeks before his actual due date. Seemed to be very healthy until he was 3 weeks old and then came 2 months of intense Colic. He was a complete joy during his toddler and preschool years, with the exception of having to sit in timeout chair. At that time he would scream so loud that I sat on front porch (in his view) so neighbors wouldn't think I was hurting him. When he was 10 years old he was diagnosed with ADHD and possibly Asperger's. He was incredibly smart and always on the honor roll at this time, so I really didn't see how he could have ADHD. Of course, being my first child in school, I was convinced by his teacher and Doctor that he did. He started having anxiety, depression and social issues in middle school. During high school, panic attacks, OCD, BDD, ADD, depression, anxiety and social issues were the main problems. Fast forward to 2016 and he is now suffering from severe depression, psychosis, panic attacks, anxieties, ADD and Asperger's. Talks about suicide, drinking and self medicating himself now.

I have a very hard time believing that his issues are just a coincidental after reading all of the posts from mothers (and their adult children) that were also given this drug. I recently sent a report to the FDA (better late than never) about the effects that this drug had on my child. I'm sure nothing will come from the report, but I wanted it documented that I was given this drug for premature labor in 1991. This drug has ruined my sons life and left me with an irregular heartbeat. The heart problem I can handle, but not what Ritodrine has done to my unborn baby that I was just trying to carry to full term for his health. Not sure what else I can do at this point.

I was also given Yutopar for premature labor in 1991. My 25 year old son has had problems with depression and anxiety his whole life. He was recently diagnosed with Schizoaffective disorder. He has a degree in mechanical engineering and cannot work due to this.

Nice you write here. You are the first for me to meet as a child born with this medicine. I wrote several letters here and i have been going deep in the healing opportunities to deal with this. I am going to take a homeopathic remedy made from this medicine. I Will leave a reply on how it has worked out. In the other mails i wrote before. I have noted some other natural medicines (adaptogenes) that are of great benefit in this disbalance. I hope it can help you as it has helped me to be more balanced. Bless you.
