Trouble With Getting A Suboxone Prescrption! (Page 2) (Top voted first)

Hi All, My name is Amy. I was addicted to oxy's for seven years and then herion for 2 years. I live in Pa. I got on methadone and it really helped. I was on methadone for 7 years. I got off of it in Dec. 2008. I decreased very slowly from 80mgs to one mg. I thought i was gonna be fine, my counselor led me to believe I wouldnt have bad withdrawls, well 2 days after I felt HORRIBLE! I was in bad withdrawl. I bought suboxone from a friend. It worked a miracle! See I dont think a suboxone doctor will see me, first because I am not using oxys or heroin, second I suffer from P.T.S.D, depression, aniexty and severe panic attacks. I see a psyciatrist and thereapist. I am on klonopin, xanax, and effexor. I was told that I can not go to a suboxone doctor because I am on these medications. So I am in a hard spot. Because I do not have a sub. doctor and have trouble finding them I relapsed on herion on May 2, 2009. I actually Over dossed and almost died. I just dont know what to do, I definately do not want to get back on the methadone. Does anyone have any advice or live in Pennsylvania and know the laws about being on suboxone and anxiety meds.? I do not get high from the suboxone, it gives me some energy and lets me be normal, no cravings,I feel great. It just really sucks that I can not get a prescription for suboxone. Does anyone have a similar problem or does anyone know of anything I can do so I can get a prescription for suboxone. I see all this online stuff, but can i trust it? it says u can buy suboxone online. Is this true? Sorry this is so long, I am just confused and worried. I do not want to ever relapse again. I am on Xanax and was on Suboxone at same time. It's 100% ok. By the way Suboxone and methadone withdrawal are exactly the same. I've come off both. Each take about 31 days to recover from. Methadone maybe a week more. Both feel just as bad.

i know all to well what your talking about .i have chronic back pain from a bulging disc i take sub for the pain but at first for addiction ,now here 3 months because of finances cant afford sub now back on narcotics my life is a living hell the pain sucks i going back to my sub doc this week thank GOD. sub is the best thing for pain and an addiction,i would recomend suboxone to anyone who has a very addictive personality or dont want to take a chance using narcotics for pain . suboxone has changed my life for the best i been taking suboxone for about 17 years now if i never got put on suboxone i know for a fact i would be dead by now.

My advice is to go research and buy Kratom. Leave those damn strips alone. They are Satin’s candy and you will regret them too one day.

So you are in PA? Unless you are really far from any cities, I imagine that there should be a Suboxone clinic not too far away from you. If you don't mind me asking, what is your zip code? You could also check out suboxone.com because they allow you to enter your zip code and search for doctors nearby. Hang in there and I hope you can make some progress with this! Please reply back with any other details you can think of.

Hi just thought help a little in this matter also ok ..as far as i know you can not take any other opiates with Suboxone because of the naloxone in it
or it will put u in withdraws BAD also picture a withdraw for 3 days ,now if u take say a Perk with Sub it will make that 3 day withdraw in 45 minutes .. but on the other hand Subutex is safe although not recomended to take with other opiates without withdraw symptoms

im not a doctor but iv seen first hand what both can do

hi guys. My name is Melissa. I was addicted to roxys for three years and then started taking suboxen. What a difference. They are a blessing. My problem now is I moved back to Florida and cannot find any. I just took my last dose and don't know what to do. Are there any pain clinics in Florida by new port richey that can help me?

Any, unfortunately you are the only onethat can make the decision to pick subs or your other meds. I have been on subs for 4 yrs n They literally saved my life. I also suffer from bipolar, anxiety and depression. They are safe meds u can take w subs. However, NO DR will prescribe u subs knowing u are taking xanax,etc... The 2 combined are deadly ! Problem with finding docs in the area is they have to aquire 2 DEA#s and take a class to be certified on suboxone treatment and a lot do not do it due to a multitude of issues.

I am in Indianapolis. Is it hard to find a doctor here to prescribe suboxone? I am having a hard time finding a doctor. I have been on pain killers for years and not only want to get off them but my doctor and the whole practice is starting to deny any prescriptions for narcotics which seems to be the norm here now. I have legit pain but I would rather deal with it then be treated like a drug addict by doctors! I have tried tapering and cold turkey. I think subs are the way to go. My friend stopped using her medication with the help of subs. Can someone please give me info or help on this?

Tasha... Idk where you are from.... But.you need to look in the phonebook for suboxone clinics near you...see who takes your insurance, make an apt. and go! I've been on this drug since Dec 2010... What a lifesaver.. anyone who had or has opiate dependence and it consumes your life.....look into this treatment. It works!!!! I am also on ativan & the two do not interact.

find a suboxone clinic in Pittsburgh, go there, sit outside the building and talk to a patient coming out, they will sell you their script. it sucks for people like you that want to use them for the right reason that soo many junkies have ruined it for the sincere ones. GOOD LUCK !!!

That is totally untrue that u can't be on psychiatric meds and be on suboxone.i have been on suboxone 5 years started at 16 now down to 8.but my psychiatrist can't prescribe it but family Dr can. they both talk to each other about my meds. I Am on sub 8 mg,klonopin 1mg three times a day,Zoloft 50mg,vyvanse 50 mg,also seroquel 75mg as needed for sleep. im also on keppra 1500 for epilepsy and butalbutal, caffeine, Tylenol, or fieoricet, for migraines from neurologists. they all cooperate together. now I will say some suboxone doctors don't like it,and some want,but you have the right to be treated for other issues as well as opiate addiction.now as far as finding Dr, go to here to help. you might have to drive a while to get to one I use too drive 1 hour,now I found one 35minutes away.i wish you the best of luck,let me know what happens
