Trouble With Getting A Suboxone Prescrption! (Page 7)

Hi All, My name is Amy. I was addicted to oxy's for seven years and then herion for 2 years. I live in Pa. I got on methadone and it really helped. I was on methadone for 7 years. I got off of it in Dec. 2008. I decreased very slowly from 80mgs to one mg. I thought i was gonna be fine, my counselor led me to believe I wouldnt have bad withdrawls, well 2 days after I felt HORRIBLE! I was in bad withdrawl. I bought suboxone from a friend. It worked a miracle! See I dont think a suboxone doctor will see me, first because I am not using oxys or heroin, second I suffer from P.T.S.D, depression, aniexty and severe panic attacks. I see a psyciatrist and thereapist. I am on klonopin, xanax, and effexor. I was told that I can not go to a suboxone doctor because I am on these medications. So I am in a hard spot. Because I do not have a sub. doctor and have trouble finding them I relapsed on herion on May 2, 2009. I actually Over dossed and almost died. I just dont know what to do, I definately do not want to get back on the methadone. Does anyone have any advice or live in Pennsylvania and know the laws about being on suboxone and anxiety meds.? I do not get high from the suboxone, it gives me some energy and lets me be normal, no cravings,I feel great. It just really sucks that I can not get a prescription for suboxone. Does anyone have a similar problem or does anyone know of anything I can do so I can get a prescription for suboxone. I see all this online stuff, but can i trust it? it says u can buy suboxone online. Is this true? Sorry this is so long, I am just confused and worried. I do not want to ever relapse again. Hi, my name is Kelly and yes zubsolv is also a form of suboxone. I like it much better, the dissolve time is a lot faster. I want to point out tho that suboxone withdraw is normally worse than withdraw from any other drug, but with a clinics help they can taper you down to make the effects less obvious, maybe even nonexistent. I congratulate you all on your sobriety. I know having mine has changed my life. There is a lot of stigma about the sub clinics and some are a joke, but there are real suboxone doctors and clinics that do care. I have found that counseling with treatment is very helpful. I salute you all and wish you all well on your road to keeping sobriety. May it be long and successful.

i know all to well what your talking about .i have chronic back pain from a bulging disc i take sub for the pain but at first for addiction ,now here 3 months because of finances cant afford sub now back on narcotics my life is a living hell the pain sucks i going back to my sub doc this week thank GOD. sub is the best thing for pain and an addiction,i would recomend suboxone to anyone who has a very addictive personality or dont want to take a chance using narcotics for pain . suboxone has changed my life for the best i been taking suboxone for about 17 years now if i never got put on suboxone i know for a fact i would be dead by now.

hello i know this post is old but just had to say a few things and no dis respect guys i just have the same questions she does ... she didnt ask for everyones story i have an issue as well but not gonna fill this with my story she asked a few questions and and like 90 percemt of you bothered to answer them ypu just put your story in here the post are suppost to give us a helping hand. not hear stories life stories with no amswers thats what other post are for and all tgat makes it very hard to find the few post squeezed into all of your stories. we were wondering if the websites are a bad idea and if so is can anyone reccommend one that may ne fairly trusting???i cant get a script as well amd i am not plannimg to take them for years at a time i was two years sober until i had a family issue now i just to find out how i cam get a few to taper on to get back to normal life please no big life stories that just give us ypur experiemce on suboxone and dont give any solutions we just need help and some resources

Hey everyone! I was taking 100mg of morphine 3 times a day plus 8 mg of dilaudid twice daily and xanax 1mg 4 times a day. I took this (prescription) for over 6 years at that high of a dose! I could function as well as anyone because my body was so acclimated to it. I made the decision that I was sick of my life revolving around pain meds. There's a Hospital in Sullivan, Missouri that has a suboxone treatment plan where you stay 3 days and 4 nights. I had insurance so I had to pay $670.00 upfront and the insurance paid the rest. You have to go in without having taken any opiods, benzoyl for 24 hours. You need to be starting withdrawals. It took about 3 more hours to get all my meds ordered including suboxone. I was really starting to withdraw when they gave me 12 mg of suboxone. In approximately 15 minutes I started the worst withdrawals ever! I thought I had made a terrible mistake, thinking I was about to lose my mind. Then, about 15 - 20 minutes later, the withdrawals, for the most part, stopped! They gave me restless leg meds, small doses of xanax, then about 4 hours later an ambien. I slept like a baby! I had some shaking of my hands and legs but all was kept under control. When I left the hospital, I felt normal again! I take 10 mg of suboxone twice daily and feel great with 0 cravings. My pain isn't controlled but it's liveabla. Suboxone is a miracle drug. I don't know why they don't prescribe this for pain rather than the heavy opiates. Type in your search bar "Opiate withdrawal centers near your zip code. " Make sure that they use suboxone and not one of those clinics that let you suffer through the withdrawals using homeopathic systems! What a joke! Good luck Amy!

Did you find answers to your post? I was trying to get the same info on here. I took Norco for years. I have a Sub doc. But he winged me off so fast. I'm just not ready. I need extra a month. But not sure where to get.

Amy. if you take any kind of sedatives you cannot take suboxone. the comination can kill you. Just trying to be careful.

Instead of Ativan you can take Tylenol PM. works well with suboxone.

I was on Suboxone and 3mgs of Xanax a day. I was on Suboxone for pain not addiction though. Here's the problem you may encounter: once you tell a doctor you are an addict they automatically do not want to prescribe any addicting medication.

FIRST: Go to the Suboxone website and find a few doctors listed in your area from that site. If they are listed on the Suboxone website that means they prescribe a lot of Suboxone and will be more free handed with it.

SECOND: Look up the doctors on YELP and read the reviews on them. Pick two that seem the best.

THIRD: book consults with each doctor

FOURTH: Have your shrink write a note to the doctor explains you would like to get off of opiates and take Suboxone to help you do so. Have him also explain that he prescribes you Xanax and whatever else for severe anxiety and he recommends you stay on them because they are helping you.

FIFTH: Go to first doctor and if he won't give it to you DONT take or fill any of his scripts. Just go to the second doctor

Helpful hint: I have no idea what you look like but I work in the medical field and I can tell you presintation matters. Make sure you are clean, your hair is done nice, put on nice clothes that look conservative. If you have tattoos or piercings, take them out or cover them up. Do not look like a junkie when you go to these doctors. They can spot a junkie a mile a way. Make sure you only have in your system what you tell them is in there because they will drug test you on the spot. How did you get the Suboxone that is in your system now? They will ask you, and if you bought it on the street you will have a problem.

I was on methadone my self for over a year and it's an awful drug!! Get off of it. To be honest methadone and Suboxone have almost the same withdrawals though. It takes 30 full days of hell... Methadone a bit longer, maybe 40.

They prescribe Suboxone for pain in Europe and they do in the US but it's not FDA approved for pain in the US yet.

Suboxone is a Wonder drug. You would think they would flood the streets with it since it A) blocks narcotics, B) turns addicts into functioning members of society, C) Does not make you feel high. Not in Ohio though. You know that guy that cut his own throat trying to derail Trump? John Kaisch? Well, he has decided in Ohio that you can only have enough Suboxone a day to barely not work (16 mg). What a TOOL!

Youre rude. We all have a disease called addiction. Maybe u havent heard of it? But you should be a little more sympathetic. Kudos to u if u dont have an addiction. I envy you! But people dont need to jear those harsh words! They need help.

You can go to a suboxone Dr as long as you go the Dr preferred psychiatrist. As long as the psych Dr says you need these, the suboxone Dr will still prescribe to you. That's what my Dr told me, but you must take them correctly.

Go to Suboxone.com search for a doctor in your area. Print out all the names of the doctors. Make appointments with at least two. One will give you the Suboxone. Don't tell them about the Klonopin. Just tell them you take Xanax for severe panic attacks and BRING a note from your therapist saying you are under his care and you take Xanax for PTSD. That's it. I was on Xanax and Suboxone and I had no problems getting them both from the same doctor. I've worked in the medical field for years. This is how doctors think...They look at you as a possible liability. If they think your going to OD and die they wont want to be bothered with you. Go into the doctors appointment looking your best. If you have tattoos, cover them. If you have facial piercings take them out. Dress conservative. Tell him you are afraid of relapsing and when you took the Suboxone once it worked wonders for you. You won't have a problem. Good luck.

Suboxone is great except now your hooked on it ! Coming off suboxone is as bad as coming off pain meds !

I tried to commit suicide on xanax. I cut my wrist, severed 9 tendons, 2 arteries and 2 nerves. I would've never done that if I wasn't on xanax. It definitely makes you more suicidal and less caring for your life and it gives you the courage to carry out these acts on yourself.

Amy, I was in a similar situation. I was prescribed Xanax and Wellbutrin for anxiety and depression. When I finally got an appointment with a Suboxone doctor, he stressed how important it was that I do not take any benzo while taking Suboxone, it can cause cardiac arrest. As I already knew nearly anything mixed with benzos could be fatal. Hope this helped you in some way
