Does this drug have a long shelf life? Does it stay good after its recommended shelf life? ## Sulfamethoxazole with Trimethoprim is an antibiotic. It should not be used after its expiration date, because it will lose effectiveness. Using an antibiotic that has lost its potency can cause you to develop antibiotic resistant bacteria. Are there any comments or questions? ## when the medication comes from the pharmacy, there is not an expiration date on the bottle. I would like to know if I can take Alieve for back pain while on sulfamethoxzole tmp ds tabitp? ## I didn't find any interactions or problems listed between Aleve and Bactrim, but you should double check such information to be careful. However, such medications are often prescribed together, since many infections cause pain and it may required medicating for a few days, until the antibiotic starts working. How save it is ? ## Hi Eva, I'm actually not quite sure why Novotrim is even marketed as a weight loss product, since it's active ingredients are antibiotics: Sulfamethoxazole + Trimethoprim I wouldn't necessarily regard this medication as being safe due to so many complaints coming from those who are experiencing its side effects, but honestly it can affect everyone differently so there's no real way to know ahead of time how you might respond to it. I have a crown which has a root canal done in it. I grind my teeth really bad and was told that I fractured the root canal. I keep getting an absess pocket which I can express myself. my pill is white oblong I was just wondering what the difference is regarding the info i have noted in the subject area, versus the 58 59 and letter v you indicate on your info. ## Sulfamethoxazole with Trimethoprim is the generic for the antibiotic Bactrim and, as a generic, it is manufactured by several different companies. So the only difference in the 2 you've mentioned is that they have been manufactured by different companies. By law, even though the medication and dosage may be the same, each company has to use different imprints, so if there would be an emergency, such as accidentally tainted product, the manufacturer can be identified, so the matter can be properly handled. I have a second degree burn on the back of my arm mid-way between the elbow and wrist that is about 6" by 2" from falling into a wood burning stove after triping over a small dog. I have a lousy cold (heavy coughing, headache,very weak,). Doctor gave me this medication. I take meds for HBP, cholestorol, thyroid. Is this ok to take for this. Im 79 ## He gave you an antibiotic to treat cold symptoms? That really makes no sense, a cold is caused by a virus and this will nothing to clear it up or treat the symptoms.
