Suboxone 8mg/2mg And Roxicodone 30's (Page 7) (Top voted first)

I am currently taking Roxicodone 30's each day. I have suboxone 8mg/2mg to help get off of these. I know the suboxones are the best pill made to help with the withdrawals but I'm wondering if for the firsrt 3 to 5 days when I'm having trouble sleeping and feeling clammy, if i should take like half of a Roxicodone 30 (which i have done in the past), as it helps me to sleep and takes away the clammy feeling? Any other suggestions that you may have? Thanks to anyone answering this for me.

Hi Jenna, for the most part yes! Not going to lie to you some people don't do well on suboxone! Some need a lot some need a liite, never exceed 2 8 mg stripes a day honestly 8 mg is plenty for most! And even 4 mg is plenty for a day! Start with low doses even if the dr gives you 2 8 mg a day ! Find out what's right for you! Suboxone is very hard to get off maybe as worse as pills?

My husband has been taking oxy for more than two years and decided to quit but did so suddenly without preparing me or giving me enough information. I couldn't find sufficient info on how to properly administer suboxone and he took 8mg and taking another 8 shortly afterwards. I think he went into precipitated withdrawal bc he started vomiting violently and was screaming from pain. He took 28 mg total his first day but I know he's doing this wrong. Is it better to take 2 8mg tablets in the morning? I don't know how to correct this. He's been crazy sick all day. Please help me help my husband be free of opioid addiction. It has completely robbed our children of a father. We want him back.

Been on suboxon strips 8mg for 6 months im down to maybe .5 mg a day for last 2 weeks i wana stop cold now how bad will it be for me and for how long my day to day is no break time plz advice

I was using anywhere from 3-6 80s daily. I went to the doc and got on subs half in the am and a half pm. I'm down to a half once a day now and bn clean a little over a year. I have never taken over 12 mg in a single day and I've had great success with Suboxone.

FYI.... if you are starting to start taking subs, please wait till the next day when you wake up, so if u took ur last rosy at 8 pm you should be fine for when you wake up to start taking subs, I take 8mg strip right when I wake up and another around 5pm. I have been on them for 3 years . When you stay on them a long time like me you will need them everyday . So if you want to use them just to detox do not use more then 5 days! If you think you are going to use roxy/oxys/dope again you may want to stay on sub maintaince like me, I'll be a lifer. I do not want to go back and forth with subs and pills, I know the subs are helping me keep my s*** together and take care of my family an have a stable job! There are no right or wrong answers, a dr is the best place to be for help! I also suggest you do not mix benzos with subs! In huge warnings all over the suboxone packaging it says that mixing them can cause death! And honestly that is how people are dying from subs! Don't be stupid when trying to get off pills or dope! If you are prescribed valium or Xanax you should def be at the sub dr so they can monitor you, I know for a fact my sub dr will not take you if you are taking benzos, some drs may! Idk that is how it is in CT! If you use subs correctly on the same schedule everyday you will soon feel better and back on the right track! Good luck everyone !

You are depressed because you just realized you have to get off this junk.You are doing it.This isn't easy.Of course you will get depressed.Pet your dog and throw the ball. If you don't have a dog then go pet your neighbors till you are stable enough to care for your own.Don't stay on the subs long.Get in and get out.you gotta be tough.Mentally and physically.After you kick this crap and become non dependent you will know in your heart and mind that the sky is now the limit as far as achieving your goals now.Be happy you are alive.!You are getting sober right? That is enough to rejoice about right there but you don't feel like it. Pretend you have a terrible flu for three to five days and get yourself way ahead of the game.You can only do one of two things.Succeed or fail.Even failure is winning.Go without for 48 hours and then 2mg of sub strip makes you feel like an athlete..2..1..1/2--zero.Valium 10 mg for six or eight nights for anxiety.No more than one and if you can break them in half then more power to you.Get your I-pod out and charge it.You will steer at the ceiling many nights.Big deal..Read a book.you will be fine in ten weeks.Stay away from the good friends you have been hanging with and your fine!!!Good luck.

Hi lisa, when I first got off oxys and switched to suboxone, I felt. Tad but depressed, I wasn't getting the effects from suboxone that I was getting from pills! My body went into slow down mode and my mind do to as well, I felt like this is not going to work for me, this is not strong enough, I felt like I wasn't going to be able to do the simple tasks of doing laundry and taking a simple shower, it was awful, I don't know if I was depressed or just lazy and pissed suboxone wasn't doing the trick like everyone said it would! After 2 weeks on subs I felt a drastic change, I was able to live a normal life, with out feeling lazy and low, I am not sure how depressed you are feeling, but it's true in all drugs you suddenly stop, all drugs can cause a mild depression to an extrem depression when you stop using , suboxone is suppose to help you not get sick and help you threw your detox, or be there every day for you if that is the route you are going, I'd def talk to your dr about the depression an maybe consider a light anti depression med if the depression has not subsided, I am usually against all this pills that drs throw at you, but I do believe if you need them for a short time to get ur brain re wired then what's the harm!!

How long will it take me to go through the withdrawals and then how the Suboxone cuz I have been on all the strong meds for over 15 yrs. Now and damn that's along time. Never realized how long until just this very minute. Wow!

Your now addicted to subs and the doctors want you on them for the rest of your life. That's why sub doctors are licensed for sub dispense. Most of them are getting paid per person they have under there watch. And the government limits how many sub patients a doc can have. Yeah I have used subs to help wd but here me out subs are expensive as hell and addictive too. Good luck to everyone and if u do go to a sub doc please ask to taper more rapidly otherwise ur on for life

Ok I had a previous oxycodone addiction about 40mgs a day at most of Percocet. I was put on suboxone to kick this habit that was formed from a car accident and escalated by the passing of my father a few months later. Suboxone saved my life and I eventually weined off of that and was clean for over two years. Recently I had a tooth pulled and had oral surgery complications and began taking pain medication in moderation for the pains and then continued to take it when I really didn't need it here and there. I began to take the suboxone again and was fine and weining when the pain came back and I started to take a half a roxy at night when I had taken the 1/4 sub in the am which was less the a milligram. I have now kept the suboxone as a daily ritual but here and there more often I have been taking Percocet at night to relax and it seems to work even though I'm taking the sub. I do t wan to take both these medication I don't want to take anything and am ready to stop the pain med and just get off the subs too. Is there any suggestions you have as to how to keep my oxy craving down and wein off the subs too?

From too much previous experience I would argue that k-pins, or any benzodiazepine used in large daily doses are the worst and longer WD than any pain med. With that said get off pain pills unless you actually need them.

Trust me. I understand Roxy's and Suboxone. I went from half a 30mg Roxy a day to sometimes over 20 Roxy's a day and went to over a dozen treatment centers over 5 years to get off them. During that time I spent over a million dollars on the drug and treatment and lost everything I owned. That being said my suggestion would be this.

1. Don't take the advice of the person who is selling them to you. It is very difficult and requires expertise to coach someone off them.
2. Do not take Suboxone while you have opiates in your system. It will put you into immediate acute withdrawal. You have to have the opiates out of your system and be in withdrawal before you take Suboxone or it will make you sick.
3. So step one is detox yourself in an inpatient center. Then find a reputable Suboxone Dr who can prescribe them to you. Not all Drs are certified to prescribe them.

Then emphasize to the Dr that you want to taper off in a reasonable time. I've been on Suboxone for 2 years but it gave me my life back. As I said I went gradually from one a day to over 20 for years and list everything. I urge you to detox somewhere then find a Suboxone Dr. Please believe me, I tried for years to do it myself and I have amazing personal strength but failed every time as it only got worse as will likely happen to you. It is just to hard to do on your own. Save yourself the struggle and detox and find a Suboxone doc. I'm happy to help anyway I can as I have helped countless people due to my extensive but difficult experience.

I was on opiates on a daily basis for 30 yrs. Started with fiorinal #3 and progressed to 80mg oxy and 5/100mg ms contin (morphine) then 3 40 mg wafers daily in an effort to stop spending so much money. My pain management drpresribed Dilaudid for breakthrough pain for a gun shot wound. I would have to take more opiate to get the same effect if I had a lot of methadone in my system. I see sawed back n forth to whichever was more readily available. This put me in a hole that 15yrs later I am still trying to climb out of financially. I was sick of it and could only take the withdrawal for a day or two and twice I ended up in the hospital seizing due to dehydration from lack of appetite as well as throwing up constantly until my stomach muscles were incredibly sore. Then they came out with Suboxone. I immediately entered behavioral pain management at a psych hospital. I read on here about Suboxone giving their life back. They are 100% right. For me,it is a miracle drug. I'm not saying I don't ever think about the high from opiates but it's usually after dreaming about them. The Suboxone takes care of the physical withdrawals and gives me a chance to pause and not make a decision that is compulsive or obsessive. It's a miracle drug for me. Were I to take opiate with a drug designed to get you away from it not only do I risk relapse but also it could throw me in withdrawal and risk getting back on the rollercoaster. I am addicted to opiates and unashamed. This is not caused by lack of willpower or self discipline. Fear of withdrawals can be debilitating. Although I am still digging out of that hole but I am at peace with it simply bc I have hope. One I started the Suboxone and just accepted the fact that at this point I need a pill/strip to feel anywhere close to what is normal for me I began to live instead of exist. I guess you could say Suboxone helped me to accept my limitations without limiting myself. And to the scientist,researchers and Drs that made this drug....thank you.

Today will be my 3rd visit back to the Dr. I went in for help because I was taking anywhere from 60-80 vic/percs a day. I've been taking 4mg every 8hrs. I just dont think it's enough, starting to get cravings, heart racing, diarreha again . I also get the pounding headaches which I take Excedrine migraine pills, B/C or Goody powders. I also take at least 600 Ibuprofen once a day, too.

I got my hands on 20 Percosets ( M 362 white oval pills 10mg Percs ) and 20 aderall 20 Mg ( COT 135 orang round pill ) My friend just stopped by with 4 Suboxone N8. Thats all I have and I am sick as a dog. Stomach empty feeling, headach, I feel like I'm crawling out of my skin, cold then hot. Any suggestions would be great, I cant even move arround I hurt so much, How long will this last ? What is my best bet for suboxones ? I want to stop the Percs and be sober / stright for a while. I have not found a Detox in my area, Boston, as of yet
