Rhodes/purdue Buprenorphine Hcl 8mg Rp B8 Vs Roxanne 54 411 (Page 16) (Top voted first)
UpdatedI have made the switch from the 8mg films to 8mg buprenorphine tablets only. With all the research I've done and experience I do my best to stay away from actavis mylan and nowadays sandoz. I noticed everyone has enjoyed the Roxanne now westward generics amongst hi-tech coming in second/mylan. I have no experience with mylan bup and don't want to take the risk even as mylan has always been a waste imo. I'm not a fan of allergan (actavis) taking over watson so depending on the drug dispenses I most stay away. There are as of now 7 manufacturers of generic buprenorphine hcl 8mg (generic subutex). They are in order of my preferred with not much experience except with brand name:
*roxanne (now westward pharma)- 54 411
*hi tech- 8 ^(arrow)
*mylan- M924
*teva (allergen/activas owned) crooked b 799
*actavis- moon 153
*sun pharma- 460 white round
[And the brand new released generic made by Purdue and distributed by Rhodes Pharmaceuticals the new Rhodes generic]
*RP b8- white round bevelled and pretending edges.
I currently have had a smooth switch to the Roxanne/westward and declined mylan, actavis, teva, hi tech, sun pharma as most research and reviews conclude the Roxanne/westward generics the 54 411 seem to be best reviewed. I was unable to find the Purdue/Rhodes pharma newly released generic RB b8 imprinted generic. All I know is Rhodes and Purdue are professionals in the process of making quality meds and not just quality meds but pain relief medication, as they even were the company to CREATE oxycontin. I was able to come across one image of them on the web and they look very similar to the Roxanne 54 411s in size color and mostly shape except for the rhodes/Purdue ones protrude or kind of pop out on each side beyond the bevelled edges. They look really well made and on one side they have RP and otherside b 8 which the b and 8 are fairly far apart. I have been doing great from switching from brand films to the Roxanne westward 54 411s so far. I'm hoping to get some feedback by next month on these newly released rhodes/Purdue generic buprenorphine hcl 8mg. They are the newest and just released October 2017 and look very shinny and quality made. I'm hoping someone here who has tried both the Roxanne/westward and the new Purdue ones imprinted RP b 8 tablets. I am going to try and have my pharmacy special order the new Rhodes generics made by Purdue again imprinted RP b 8 white round shinny tablets fairly similar to the Roxanne but look better quality imo but do not have much experience with generic just brand and am very well versed on pharma companies and their medicine and their quality each one has.
Has anyone tried these new rhodes/Purdue ones imprinted RP b 8? How would you compare them to the Roxanne 54 411 tablets... I hope for a response or it will be trail and error for me when ordering Rhodes next month if i stay on this route and will see how they compare to the Roxanne/westward but will not be til a month away. Please if you have any experience with these generics and especially the new rhodes/Purdue one let me know. Again I was able to locate only one image of them and they look great. They do not look small like hi tech more like a combined Roxanne and mylan with the shininess and how they pop out on each side..they look a little larger like the mylan and Roxanne not small like hi tech or teva or activas they are round tablet imprints RP b8 with b and 8 fairly far apart. Any feedback would be great and I would want to switch to rhodes/Purdue from roxanne (now westward being a factor) generics as they make quality are new just released and approved this year 2017 of October and no one how even mentioned them yet that I can find. With westward buying out Roxanne and them making changes a new generic made by Purdue may be just the one we have been waiting for and needing..again on the 54 411 ones now and looking for feedback on the new Purdue Rhodes ones and if the switch from Roxanne westward to rhodes/Purdue would be better maybe with better quality as they have always been a great and reputable company who makes outstanding drugs. Any feedback would be great.
I have been on buprenorphine for almost 10 years now, I’ve tried them all as well and what I And most people I talk to who take the medication prefer the 54 411s when I first started treatment I got the Roxanne 54s every month for years. Then one day I got them walked out and saw they were the m924 now I know there all the same chemical but I have to say I don’t care for the Mylan bup. I just walked out of my pharmacy and realized I got the new Rhodes purdue round white rps I went to take one and didn’t notice it was different until I looked in the bottle. I’m hoping these are at least equivalent to the 54s. Anything is better than the peach ones or the tiny ones, I’m feeling pretty good after taking one. I’d say definitely as good as 54s
Re: Mela (# 380)
That's good about the Rhodes. I hated mylan! I hate all their meds, they are garbage.
Re: Goozer (# 3)
I am getting a script tomorrow Rhodes Pharmaceuticals buprenorphine 8 I have been on the 54 411s for many years and I will tell you how I rate them in comparison
Re: Charlene (# 378)
If you want to increase your absorption of buperenorphine there is a little trick that works well. Get some mouth wash with alcohol and use it for a while then spit it out. Then take your bupe.. the alcohol helps with absorption. I did a ton of research years ago trying to get the most out of my Subutex sublingually and that was the most effective by far! It really does work.. Since then I've found other ways to maximizing my bupe but the mouth wash really works.
I love reading everyone’s posts on this thread. It’s very informative! Thanks everyone.
Re: Charlene (# 386)
Just picked up the Rhodes Purdue brand at the pharmacy. Of course they didn't have enough even though I asked him on Monday if he had enough or could put aside enough for my script. I get 75 a month and they only had 60 on hand so I have to drive the 40 minutes each way again to pick up the 15 pills they owe me. They said from now they would keep it in stock for me but we'll see... Anyways they gave me the manufacturer bottles which I very rarely get but I prefer it. I noticed after opening the bottle the pills were softer than the Roxanne west ward hikima (or whatever they call themselves now) and a few were chipped. It had a white residue that it would leave behind more like the old brand name or Teva's would leave. I took the normal dose I would take when I pick up my script and it hit me a little faster than 54 111's also they dissolved much faster and more smoothly. It had a very bitter taste which usually means it's got quality buprenorphine in it (that's been my experience anyway). It seemed to be pretty good overall. Would I say it's better than the 54 111' s? Yes... Would I say it's as good as the brand name or Teva's old brand? Probably not quite. It's good though. It's definitely better than these new Roxanna 54 111 hikima for sure though! I would say if the brand name was a 10 on a scale from 1 to 10 ten being best. Teva's were 9, Rhodes would be an 8, Roxanne hikima would be a 7, actavis would be a 5 1/2, sun a 4, mylan a 3 and hi tech would be a 2. I like them better than the new 54 111's for sure so I'll be trying to get these from now on. I think they will be available in more pharmacies as more time goes by hopefully because if they don't sell enough than they will eventually stop production to focus of drugs that's ate in higher demand. Example Teva's brand! The more people who know about these as a good quality generic option the better so anyone who has tried them and liked them just tell people or post about it.
Re: Bobby (# 388)
Well I'm very happy that u do approve of the Rhodes, that makes me feel better. I don't like to tell someone that they are great and then they come back at ya and say what they hell are u talking about..but as far as this chips and dull appearance is a bummer..I just picked up my 3rd script today also I just got home. I get 90 a month and not one single time did I get a bad batch. They are shiny and very clear white color I mean I literally pick them up and look at how beautiful they look..then I take one and go..I never really thought of myself looking at a pill and thinking damn they are gorgeous..lol but I do..I have never had a bottle other than the normal pharmacy bottle..and yes that's one thing I Also like is the fact they are so smooth tasting and like u said they disovole better than any sub I have taken in a long time..I never tried Mylan or sun but I have all the others. My last few batches of hikma just 4 months ago before the Rhodes they were very dull looking and broke up with chips I was so disappointed I called hikma to ask what's up. They didn't do much other than ask what Pharmacy I got them from..so anyway congrats to getting them and liking them. All u have to do now is check and make sure they have the full amount because that's a extra drive I wouldn't want to do either. So do u think u will get them again? Just curious that's all.
Re: Charlene (# 389)
I'm still seeing how they are gonna feel after a couple weeks but yea I think so the hikima were giving me problems.
Re: goozer (# 363)
This is good info, because I swear I thought it was just me getting worked up. I guess I picked it up from the past when I was abusing pain meds. Always trying to get them early or doing something illegal. Now that I'm not I still carry that feeling when I go into a pharmacy. Now I'm getting it legit you'd think my anxiety would be ok. But damn not yet one day
Re: Nicole (# 392)
Hi nicole. I'm trying to get this straight years ago u took suboxone strips 4 8mg day..now your on the suboxone 8/2mg pill ? But it was too strong at first? I'm just waking up, I'm usually not this confused. So u say now on suboxone pill your back on your old dose..or r u on subutex 8mg. There is only one orange half moon dose of subutex, but it seems most of us stay away from that brand of generic. For I guess most just don't care for the flavor and second for me anyway out of the generics of buprenorphine they only have 8mg bup, most of the others say 8.64mg equivalent to 8mgs..and it was westward/hikma..now they are white round ones and they were the best until just recently a nea generic came out from Rhodes they are also white round and we all have been raving about them..we have not had a good generic version for a very long time..so we are head over heals.. so if u are on suboxone u should consider these new ones. Chances are u will not be disappointed. They seem like they are 2x stronger. Not to mention the price difference for subutex campared to suboxone..let us know what's going on and everyone in this group are very helpful and honest with answers..thx
Re: Nicole (# 392)
Now u say they are orange colored and able to cut them in 3s... You might be talking about subutex 8mg, orange half moon is the way they are described. They are called actavis brand..not a lot of us are huge fans...however everyone here seems to have very good knowledge..also if u go to Google and search btodrems. All your subutex/suboxone info is listed and anything one would be interested for information can find it there so good luck. Get back with us.
Re: Charlene (# 393)
she is correct I was able to switch to himka and Rhodes from 8mg films of suboxone to subutex within a day and that same day no issues and I was on the films for good 5 years easily and one day just switched and was feeling just same on brand name films if not better on Rhodes generic subutex and was paying thousands of dollars for brand name and the Rhodes subutex without the nalaxone is amazing. nalaxone is not the best drug it gives headaches and all kinds of bad side effects but it is a life saver for addicts I give it that but that only works with narcan brand spray when saving someone anyways got off topic point is I was able to switch from films with nalaxone in them to Rhodes and Roxanne at the time subutex within just the same day and dosing hours no issues and improvement as well! best luck we r family here u need anything let us know God bless
Re: goozer (# 403)
Yes, that's what I thought to. It seems like by me alot of doctors will give 2 and most of my bup treatment I always get 4 a day. My new doctor said most ppl need at least 3 to 4.to get around the clock..I feel like I know more about bup than most of the doctors out there..anyways it sp happens my new doc I have now is not going to be able to accept my insurance, so now I'm on the hunt again for a new doctor
Charlene (# 405) --
So I saw your post and wanted to share- I couldn’t find a new doctor locally that would prescribe subutex. All wanted to rx suboxone- so now I have to drive to Bonita Springs once a month. They will stay true to your past medical records. The only issue is I’m a cash customer and they said they have issues with people with insurance to get prior approval, but since I don’t have insurance it’s not an issue- his name is Dr. Jaffe - I know it’s a drive but it’s better than not getting what you need. I’m just sharing so that you have an option, I’ve heard there’s others in Sarasota who will as well but I don’t have their names. Good luck Charlene!
3 months in a row I have had the generic. I will write off the bottle 4 u so no misprint. Westward brand 8mg/2mg sublingual suboxone lime flavor. They work like s***. I cut mine and it seems to work better to take thru out the day. I have severe pain and no drs. I am going thru a clinic for people who are addicts because no were else would take me even though it was 300 dollars until my disability actually kicked in. I was never told that once you start they want to take you off the meds. I'm screwed with pain and of course I got reinjured. They dont know. I'm only there in mchenry county illinois. My pain dr retired. I have no one to raise the dose 2 times a day so I spend my days stuck in bed in excruciating pain and need to go without meds so I am able to go out for a few hours and have some what of a life. I'm only 42. I've been told by my own pharmacist I had 14 years knowing my injuries and knows I need stronger meds to have a life that I can have of quality, and my psychiatrist wont prescribe any meds 4 pain. He has the license to yet knows I look into assisted suicide and will help me find the way to find a legal state. More drs... I can't drive anymore to help. They all say there are not any treatment pain clinics yet. The specialist even wont prescribe a thing. This brand is terrible. I pray for the brand I had the first time. They were pink and worked great. This brand in its original bottle does not work. 3 months in a row. I pray for my first pink pills. I don't know the name of the manufacturer. Thanks everyone for taking time to help me. I'm bawling now. It's sad a chatroom helps and cares more than a damn dr cares. It helps me. So there are people who care who don't know me. I sit awake so many hours wanting to have a job, even 2. At times weeks make me happy not being stuck in a box in my apartment. All my friends moved to different states. I have no one. My family was murdered 9 years ago. Long story. So I sit daily. So many thoughts go thru an aries. I'm also in pain so bad I have no sex life. My boyfriend, I tell him to please go be with anyone. I hate my spinal cord injury, my back and neck. Plus I want my sex life back. I'm so afraid that with extra weight I will go into a panic attack knowing how painful it will be. It used to be that we'd have intercourse 4 times day. Now 2 years. Can anyone help me find that pink brand? I can call my pharmacy and they will have it ordered for my visit to mathers clinic on the 22nd of october. Thank you from the bottom of my heart guys.
Re: goozer (# 409)
I’m not on Xanax anymore. I got taken off of those in California. It wasn’t safe for me to be on Xanax, OxyContin and Morphine at the same time. Which I didn’t know, until I got out there. I was slowly dying from my prescription medications, I was taking and taking it correctly from the way my the doctors prescribed it to me. They thought it was ok to take all of them together. Well it’s not and I didn’t know that. I went through a horrible withdrawal going off of Xanax. I’ll never go back on them again. The withdrawal symptoms from going off of opiates are completely different than, what I went through going off of Xanax. They should have weaned me off of the Xanax, but they didn’t. One day I was taking them and not the next. It was awful going through withdrawal. I was in la la land got about 2 months going off of it. I’m on Valium now, but it’s a very low dose.
If I hear anything about those Xanax bars I’ll let you know because, I have a friend who has severe panic attacks. He takes about 16 to 18mgs of Xanax a day. He’s not floored either. He’s been on it, since he was very young. Xanax is the only medication that works for him. I can ask him on a Monday and let you know then Goozer.
Re: goozer (# 413)
Hi next time your on this page if u can maybe fine 1 or 2 doctors..I have been doing this almost a week now it get very frustrating. One doctor so far gave me an office appointment for December 5th. I took it of course but I pretty sure I will run out of meds by then..gosh I can't discuss my situation here on this forum. But I have crazy stuff going on that are somewhat unbelievable with my doc I have now..I discussed with both my sisters..so my next action is called my heart M.D to see how this could be happening? My situation..u seem like a smart guy. Talk to u soon and again thanks for helping us all out
Re: goozer (# 423)
I’m not depressed at all. I’m on anti-depressants, and been on them for over 26 years. It’s been because I have bi-polar disorder. Not the one with the schizophrenic tendencies. I’ve been in remission for 13 years now.
Re: goozer (# 427)
I’m sorry about the way anti-depressants work for you. There are more than the Serotonins and the Tricyclics out there. I won’t go back on any Tricyclics ever again. Those caused me to get fat and made me moody. There’s also other types of medication they use for other things that aren’t anti-depressants, but are used for it. Here’s a example: I’m on Lamictal, it’s a seizure medication. It’s prescribed to me for my bi-polar disorder. This medication is what has kept me in remission for 13 years. Prior to that I was up and down, in and out of the hospital. Another one is Topamax it’s a seizure medication, but it’s prescribed to me to help me with my migraines and for the Ehlers Danlos Syndrome I have because of pain. My migraines haven’t been as bad since I’ve been on Topamax. I still get them.
As for your the blue Xanax bars your talking about, I think I’ve said this in a previous post, I have a friend who has severe anxiety attacks. They are on a very high dose of Xanax. If any one would know about those blue Xanax bars this person would. I’d be more than happy to ask them, on your behalf. Just let me know all the particulars about them and I’ll get right on it.
Re: goozer (# 426)
Yea I've been on both buprenorphine and benzos for 9 years now, first Xanax then Klonopin now. If your tolerance is low I can see not taking both but for me I've always had anxiety problems so without my Klonopin I'm a mess. I had a awful sub doctor for about a year back in 2013 who I only went to because he accepted my insurance. Previous to that I was very happy but they only took cash and I had lost my job. Anyways this guy was the biggest jerk ever! He supposedly had been a pill addict a long time ago and he thought he knew everything. He wanted to take me off my xanax and he would belittle you in front of other patients and the office by keeping his office door open. It was a nightmare! He eventually messed up my prior authorization request by continually sending my old insurance company the wrong sub dose. Instead of saying I was on 4 8mg tabs a day he said I took 2 a day because he kept bad notes. Everytime I went in he would ask how many do you take a day 2? I would say not I'm on 4 a day #60 a month with refill and he would say of ye ok. So yea he kept sending over the wrong dose. I kept calling to he insurance company who kept telling me to call the office. I called the doctor's office and the receptionist argued with me over what does I took!!! Finally she said I'm gonna have the doctor call you back and I was sick at this point from not having any subs for a day or two. He called me back and was so condescending and told me I'm bothering them and I'm not his only patient that they can't spend all day on me... Then when I told him why I was calling he must have realized he screwed up and instead of owning it he told me it was my fault because I had him write the script that way. I was furious!! That's the way you would always write out that dose because you can't get more than 100 buprenorphine pills at a time so they have to be split up 60 with 1 refill. Anyway I found a new doctor but my insurance used that as an excuse to lower my dose to 2 a day. I've since got it up to 2 and a half a day but this doctor messed up a lot. Just had to vent when I read you talking about benzos and doctors not wanting to prescribe them with opiates.
