Rhodes/purdue Buprenorphine Hcl 8mg Rp B8 Vs Roxanne 54 411 (Page 15) (Top voted first)

Updated

I have made the switch from the 8mg films to 8mg buprenorphine tablets only. With all the research I've done and experience I do my best to stay away from actavis mylan and nowadays sandoz. I noticed everyone has enjoyed the Roxanne now westward generics amongst hi-tech coming in second/mylan. I have no experience with mylan bup and don't want to take the risk even as mylan has always been a waste imo. I'm not a fan of allergan (actavis) taking over watson so depending on the drug dispenses I most stay away. There are as of now 7 manufacturers of generic buprenorphine hcl 8mg (generic subutex). They are in order of my preferred with not much experience except with brand name:

*roxanne (now westward pharma)- 54 411
*hi tech- 8 ^(arrow)
*mylan- M924
*teva (allergen/activas owned) crooked b 799
*actavis- moon 153
*sun pharma- 460 white round
[And the brand new released generic made by Purdue and distributed by Rhodes Pharmaceuticals the new Rhodes generic]
*RP b8- white round bevelled and pretending edges.

I currently have had a smooth switch to the Roxanne/westward and declined mylan, actavis, teva, hi tech, sun pharma as most research and reviews conclude the Roxanne/westward generics the 54 411 seem to be best reviewed. I was unable to find the Purdue/Rhodes pharma newly released generic RB b8 imprinted generic. All I know is Rhodes and Purdue are professionals in the process of making quality meds and not just quality meds but pain relief medication, as they even were the company to CREATE oxycontin. I was able to come across one image of them on the web and they look very similar to the Roxanne 54 411s in size color and mostly shape except for the rhodes/Purdue ones protrude or kind of pop out on each side beyond the bevelled edges. They look really well made and on one side they have RP and otherside b 8 which the b and 8 are fairly far apart. I have been doing great from switching from brand films to the Roxanne westward 54 411s so far. I'm hoping to get some feedback by next month on these newly released rhodes/Purdue generic buprenorphine hcl 8mg. They are the newest and just released October 2017 and look very shinny and quality made. I'm hoping someone here who has tried both the Roxanne/westward and the new Purdue ones imprinted RP b 8 tablets. I am going to try and have my pharmacy special order the new Rhodes generics made by Purdue again imprinted RP b 8 white round shinny tablets fairly similar to the Roxanne but look better quality imo but do not have much experience with generic just brand and am very well versed on pharma companies and their medicine and their quality each one has.

Has anyone tried these new rhodes/Purdue ones imprinted RP b 8? How would you compare them to the Roxanne 54 411 tablets... I hope for a response or it will be trail and error for me when ordering Rhodes next month if i stay on this route and will see how they compare to the Roxanne/westward but will not be til a month away. Please if you have any experience with these generics and especially the new rhodes/Purdue one let me know. Again I was able to locate only one image of them and they look great. They do not look small like hi tech more like a combined Roxanne and mylan with the shininess and how they pop out on each side..they look a little larger like the mylan and Roxanne not small like hi tech or teva or activas they are round tablet imprints RP b8 with b and 8 fairly far apart. Any feedback would be great and I would want to switch to rhodes/Purdue from roxanne (now westward being a factor) generics as they make quality are new just released and approved this year 2017 of October and no one how even mentioned them yet that I can find. With westward buying out Roxanne and them making changes a new generic made by Purdue may be just the one we have been waiting for and needing..again on the 54 411 ones now and looking for feedback on the new Purdue Rhodes ones and if the switch from Roxanne westward to rhodes/Purdue would be better maybe with better quality as they have always been a great and reputable company who makes outstanding drugs. Any feedback would be great.

Re: Goozer (# 19) Expand Referenced Message

I can't thank you enough for this info. I've been on 54 411 for years, and when I moved to tenn I could only find the tiny ones that you can't half, hi tech. And I've stayed in mild withdrawal for 3 months. Whereas I could take a half of the 54 411 I have to take TWO WHOLE hi-techs (arrow) just to get completely out of withdrawal. I just found a pharmacy that sells the rp b8 Rhodes and I'm on my way to get them now. I can't express how grateful I am that you wrote this. I've been desperate just to get enough subutex in my system with these tiny pills. They dissolve so fast that I'm just not absorbing it. My only next option to get it in my system was going to be desperate....but now I'll wait and try the new rhodes. Thank you so much.

Re: goozer (# 323) Expand Referenced Message

Goozer, I don’t feel that at all, to what you are saying about me. All I was trying to say to you, is the facts you put out here, in this forum. You should explain the side effects these medications do to you. Then say this is not the case for another person. As I was saying to another person in this forum, the are laws different from state to state. They were talking me about, how I can get Mylan Buprenorphine prescribed to me by any MD in my area. Which that isn’t true in my State. You have to have a doctor give you a referral to a doctor, who is licensed to prescribe it. Most of the doctors who have the license to prescribe it are mostly, in the Metropolitan areas. I live in Rural area. I have to drive a long way to get my scripts for Buprenorphine.

I don’t have anything against you, or anybody else in this forum. I believe when someone asks a question, they need to be guided in the right direction. Since I’ve had so many reactions to a lot of medications, I will let them know what side effects are, with a specific medication, they are talking about and what it did to me. I can’t tell them they will have the same side effects as me, cause won’t. I know this from experience and from a doctor telling me.. The only people that may have the same side effects closet to you, is your biological family members.

I’m very knowledgeable and extremely smart and I do know what I’m talking about. Why does it make a difference to you Goozer, about the weight difference, in the different brands of Buprenorphine pill? What if there was only 1 brand on the market? You’d be stuck with that one, or you’d have to go to other alternatives. That’s all I’m saying.

Now there’s days I don’t need the full 8mgs of the Buprenorphine in the am I take and the pm as well. I take a total of 26mgs per day. I will cut the pill with my pill cutter and then weigh it. I keep track of how much I take per day. I usually always take less than the 16mgs a day, I’m prescribed. The doctor said, if I don’t need it all the time, don’t take that much. This is how I know the weight of the Mylan and the Actavis brands of Buprenorphine. Otherwise I wouldn’t know.

As I’ve said, I have nothing against anybody in this forum. I don’t have a miserable life like you think, I do, I will continue to give my feedback, I know is correct for people, to the best of my ability. If I don’t know the answer, I won’t give one.

Have a nice day.

Damn I miss my bars, my new dr. Seems like she doesn't approve, my last visit I started out slowly with her and told her I used to take klonopin 2mg because I thought I could work up the ladder..but it didn't happen. She says try this elavil I asked is it better than klonopin she shake her head yes better..now I didn't say anything. But I know well it's not even a comparison. Not at all. At times like this I should say something because they act like they know so much more. But I can say this when it comes to medication that's one thing I know about not only from a small college after high school, but obviously I am taking subutex for an addiction. I know my pills and goozer I will keep a look out

I just wanted to update after I tried the new rhodes brand yesterday....it may be pathetic to some, but tears of relief streamed down my face once they took affect. As I stated I was taken off the 54 411 Roxanne subutex and forced on the hitech arrow subs. For 3 months I suffered and blamed myself and was made to feel like I was just an addict. Until I read this forum I thought maybe I was losing it. Even my dr and old pharmacy told me it was in my head, that there was no real difference, that it is the same drug.
It is not the same, or either the pills were so tiny that my system couldn't absorb them before they totally dissolved.
Either way when the effects of the rp b8 Rhodes kicked in I whispered a prayer of gratitude and tears of relief streamed down my face. I was in so much pain and withdrawl from the 54 411. Thank you again for this forum goozer

I also took the brand name Subutex and the second best Teva generic...years ago. There are no generics out now to match these two and never will be. I have tried the Rhodes brand, like you I heard they were better than the 54-411’s. I found that the Rhodes are no better than the 54-411’s so don’t get your hopes up.

I've gotten subutex for years and had always gotten the 54 411s. The last time i got my meds filled i got the RP b 8. I really like them. It seems to me that they last longer. I live in south carolina if that helps.

Re: goozer (# 333) Expand Referenced Message

I'm with you. I miss my xanax badly. It was the only thing that worked well with me. I have found out its getting harder and harder to get prescribed. I have been trying for a good 6 years. I have read that paperwork let's doctors to be cautious while prescribing buprenorphine. I have no idea why. All I know it worked best for me. I keep hinting in the direction to the doc. I need it. My anxiety is terrible. And it was the only thing that worked for me. At one time before this huge opioid epidemic started I have a good doctor that most would call a quack. But damn I liked him alot . Obviously number 1 listen to what he gave me, 120 bup. 4 2mg bars xanax a day adderall 20mg x 3 day. Valium 30 a month. Along with my buspar.. so ya I really liked him..I don't understand why it's so difficult to get unless it's my area. But I don't have any problems getting my adderall 20mg x 3 daily. And thats ok. But I still am lost without my xanax because sometimes it's so bad for me the anxiety hurts. However I dont know how to mention this comply to her without complaining to much because I know adderall could cause some of this and it's hard to mention to her without thinking about will she take the adderall away from me and then be stuck with nothing..she is only 31 fresh out of college so her mind is in the area of newish meds and I still like old school medacine. I started slow mentioning I used to take klonopin I new it was milder than xanax so start low and slow. I could tell emeditly it doesn't look like she gives telling me elavil is better than xanax, come on.. so idk because of insurance reasons she will no longer be accepting mine I'm changing company's in a few days remember i have SSD and enrollment tine is here... I need my bup. So for now I will keep her for a doctor. But just like old school medacine, I also like older psychiatrist they seem to give the scripts for old school medacine, and that's what I like. Again your the best, you are one of those people who I'd like to meet some day...I like you alot..thx friend

Thanks for the feedback. I'm probably going to give them a try or at least attempt to as you never know what's going to happen when trying to get a certain brand. I'll go give this new pharmacy my script Monday and as them to put aside the Rhodes tablets for my fill Wednesday morning. I need to make sure they know not to fill unless they can give me that brand or else I need my script back to take to my usual cvs. I get nervous using new pharmacies especially when leaving this script. I get so nervous when filling my bupe script now because I've had so much trouble. Hopefully all goes smoothly and I get these Rhodes Purdue and I like them. Thanks

I'm with goozer on this topic I did everything in my power to find these new Rhodes generic and I'm very happy I did it's a big difference Roxannes are long gone. The new hikma brand left crumbs at the end of dissolving, they are a very dull looking pill, they might be the best generic compared to what's out there now, other than new Rhodes generic they are beautifully made hard and shiny and gets the job done, I swear sometimes I have to think did I or not take my full dose. Because I felt like I did, only to be lucky and say wow I still have another two I could take. I never had that effect except wayy back when I started on original subutex..are they worth the drive..yes...do I want a brand new pharmacy having my info, yes, absolutely I do for this generic let's face it bup is not cheap and when it comes to pills I take I want the best I can get. Bups expensive so I want the best

Re: goozer (# 320) Expand Referenced Message

I want to thank you for this thread. It’s been so helpful.
I was able to find a doctor, unfortunately it’s an hour drive from where I live but it’s much better than the alternative. And I still get my 54’s. I think we are all creatures of habit so when I got my Rhodes that one time I didn’t give them a chance, but they did make me very nauseous until my pharmacy switched them to the normal kinds for me. Granted, Rhodes is far better than all the others, so if I HAD to take them I would manage, but the nausea was so bad. Maybe if I had a week adjustment period it would have subsided, but I don’t know. I’m just grateful I found a doc and this thread. Thank you and everyone else for all the great info.

All I know is my experience and the original Subutex was absolutely the best. I don’t trust any of the new generics they don't come close to the original no matter what they say is in the ingredients.

Well gosh tim, I was Leary the same way thinking can Rhodes be truly what we have been waiting for in a generics campared to the original brand name subutex? Its been along time in waiting. But I truly believe they are absolutely the best we have now. Usually while I'm on a generic for awhile and then switching it takes my body a good 3 weeks to adjust. Not with Rhodes...but like one thing we all can agree on in this group, everyone is different in our own opinion of bup. What works for one doesn't for the next..but when I started on brand name, it was definitely the best then comes teva, another great one , Roxanne were the next best until they changed names so many times and kept messing with ingredients my last two batches of hikma were so dull I needed a magnifying glass to read, they were chipped and cracked I actually called the company. Now dont get me wrong hikma is still the best other than Rhodes, compared to all the rest of generics. But I'm still happy you still enjoy your brand, that's what counts, right..thx for your opinion friend its always great to chat with you

Re: DawnInOhio (# 351) Expand Referenced Message

Thank you so much for your information!cheers to you..I have taken subutex since 2006. So I'm a long time user. I have always taken just buprenorphine, no naloxone,..8mg x 4 daily..when people hear my dosage they rave on I'm wasting my money because most doctors believe only 2 are needed. Tops 3..they say even 3 is a huge waste because of the ceiling effect they say after 16mg anything more is ineffective..I'm not sure about that part..but when I only took 16mg I was very sick. I seen 3 doctors to find out what's going on, only to find this one saying I'm sick because I need a higher dose. And she was right with the increase I'm back to normal again. My sister takes methadone from a clinic her dose is 115mg x a split dose. .. its crazy the way they treated you at the methadone clinic, I'd be pissed off to..now I looked into methadone before because the trouble about my dosage I thought bup just stopped working for me because I felt in withdrawal alot. I like having my 3 months of scripts and not have to deal with all what you have to do to join a methadone clinic. I asked my sister if you methadone pills? At first she said yes. So I kept on her. I know for a fact if it were possible that's what she would choose. But for over a year she is on her liquid dose. So she told me before she got on methadone her pain management dr. Would prescribe them..she cannot go back to him she was fired..I never called to check to see, but by googling research pills are almost impossible to get. Idk.. but now to the important point, the patch? I know they exist I've researched it. But truly you're saying they are much more better..all I can figure out with the lingo, they are not as potent as buprenorphine? Please, please let me know more info. Thx new friend its always q pleasure to meet a new friend thx

Re: Bobby (# 350) Expand Referenced Message

I don't blame you one bit about you saying u get all worked up about going into a different new pharmacy. I do to. Idk maybe its because of the way some pharmacist seem to try to belittle us thinking they have the upper hand. They are no better than us just a different job title..I get all nervous every time I fill my script even if it's a pharmacy I've used for a long time..its just a power trip they use on us I guess..I hope you enjoy Rhodes

Re: goozer (# 368) Expand Referenced Message

I have to agree, they kicked in good for me the very first day I picked them up at my pharmacy which is about 25 minutes from my house. I was in the parking lot what I like at first I noticed they beauty of this pill I only took one dose it was the smoothest bup I have taken since original bup..I remember going to bed a few nights and happened to be laying thinking I feel pretty good and all of q sudden I reolized I forgot I still had one more I could have taken. So I'd say strong... I only ever had problems is with the orange half moon. I'd get a crappy month .but I like to tell others you may have to give it awhile to work from taking a different bup. Because I don't want someone made at me for giving my opinion because everyone is different. And if you were just starting a new generic for them not to give up if your unsure keep with it give it a good try..but usually with me i don't have much of that problem at all either so i like to add that part in so they don't come looking for saying why did you say it .

Re: goozer (# 365) Expand Referenced Message

The more I try to read about the ceiling effect I'm more confused. I understand it means once you hit the ceiling effect anymore bup you might take is considered a waste..so does it mean my dose is 32mg anything more is considered just a waste? If so other people's comments I have read about, not on this thread claim anything over 16mg is a waste. I don't believe that because I know for a fact if I only take 16mg I'm sick I need 32mg

I'm pleased to say goodbye Walgreens see ya next time. My new pharmacy is excellent I'm no wears as nervous as I was before. I feel comfortable now they welcome me I never thought I'd be this comfortable with a pharmacy

Can you do me a favor? Read the comments for ( DowninOhio ) #351,. I wrote him a reply he talks about absorbson. I read this dr. Jeffrey Fundin under Google he explains every buprenorphine product on the market. I wrote him once because I had found out about the other buprenorphine products out there. He told me Belbuca at the highest dose of 900mcg. Twice daily will have far lower blood concentrations than the dose for me most recently prescribed. I thought it would be stronger for me apparently not so thx
