What is this pill ## Hello, Vicky! How are you? Is the marking possibly ZC02 with all of them separated into different quadrants by score marks? If so, the tablet is manufactured by Zydus Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 25mgs of Promethazine. The FDA lists this medication as being an antihistamine that's most commonly used to treat or prevent nausea and vomiting.

Does it have an expectorant in it ## Hi Jim, Neither medication is actually in the drug class of expectorants like guaifenesin. However I have seen other brand names of promethazine + codeine (such as "Phenergan Expectorant/Codeine" manufactured by Wyeth) being marketed as an expectorant. So I'm led to believe that promethazine does exhibit such effects regardless of its classification. Hope this helps!

What pharmacy companies manufactured and produced promethazine codeine? Is Watson one of them? ## @bankrolled, From what I could gather, promethazine codeine (phenergan w/ codeine) is or was being manufactured by the following pharmaceutical companies: Alpharma Actavis (NDC is 0472-1627-16) Tris Pharma Inc. (NDC is 27808-065-01) Sun Pharma Inc. (NDC is 57664-185-31) Qualitest Pharma (NDC is 0603-1585-58) Hi-Tech Pharma I didn't see Watson listed, but Actavis bought them out a long time ago, so I'd imagine that their version ended up taking Watson's place. Apparently they came in one pint (473 mL) bottles. I hope this info helps!

pls help me to explain to my pharmacist that the pill I took made by amneal and prescribed for me to relieve nausea works and the medication he sold me made by other manufacturers is not the same medication and is worthless. Is there any otjer way to use these ## No, they are suppositories for a reason and not formulated for any other use. Side effects to Promethazine may include nausea, dizziness and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with? ## My apologies, I didn't catch that, but it should be drowsiness, not nausea. The medication is used to treat or prevent nausea and vomiting.

I have chest congestion and want to know which medication would work best for me. Promethazine vc syrup or mucinex ## Use Mucinex, don't use promethiazine it's not very safe with any continued use. It wouldn't help your congestion anyway, it's mainly for extreme nausea. ## (A second opinion): I would also recommend Mucinex for the same reason that Steve suggested. Also, you may want to consider cutting out any dairy products from your diet as they are mucous forming and can work against Mucinex in terms of clearing the congestion sooner rather than later. Closest I can find is a Promethazine Hydrochloride. Looks exactly the same, but white. ## Hi Tina, Looks like the closest match I could find is also the white version of that tablet; being Promethazine HCL. However, I did come across a yellow pill with a very similar marking. It has an "M" on one side and "P/T" on the other. Unfortunately there's no numbers though, so maybe this can at least help to narrow down your search. The pill itself is identified as Acetaminophen (325 mg) + Tramadol HCL (37.5 mg), made by Mylan Pharma. Does anyone else know what the peach pill might be?

I have someone that has called ME,and it cant be safe,im worried that they may become braindead from it!!!! ## It's not safe, at the very least it will abcess, lead to sepsis or more ## Promethazine is an antihistamine, it doesn't get someone high, so I am not sure why they'd want to be able to inject it anyway. And just like Jungle said, it isn't safe. Tablets contain fillers and not all of them are meant to be broken down by our bodies, they are normally just expelled as waste. Hello, I've just bought the UK Version of 'Sominex', a night-time sleep aid - the active ingredient is the antihistamine Promethazine Hydrochloride. It says not to use it if you've recently used MAO inhibitors - I'm not on any prescribed MAO inhibitors, but I have recently used herbal remedies like Ashwagandha, Siberian Ginseng (Eleuthero), and also Resveratrol and Quercetin, all of which apparently are mild(?)
