Promethazine Use With Herbal Mao Inhibitors

Hello,
I've just bought the UK Version of 'Sominex', a night-time sleep aid - the active ingredient is the antihistamine Promethazine Hydrochloride. It says not to use it if you've recently used MAO inhibitors - I'm not on any prescribed MAO inhibitors, but I have recently used herbal remedies like Ashwagandha, Siberian Ginseng (Eleuthero), and also Resveratrol and Quercetin, all of which apparently are mild(?) MAO inhibitors.
Am I safe to use Promethazine with these herbs/compounds, as they are are not prescription-strength MAO inhibitors? Or should I play safe and not mix them?

I've checked for possible interactions and the only thing I found listed was between the Ashwaghanda and the Promethazine, taking both together will increase the effects of the Promethazine, but it's not listed as being dangerous and just has a warning to be cautious. However, you should double check this information with your doctor or pharmacist.

On top of the drowsiness, since it's an antihistamine, the Promethazine may also cause dry mouth.

Many thanks for the reply and the information.
For the time being, if I take Promethazine I think I will avoid the Ashwagandha, to play it safe. The Promethazine will only be an occasional usage anyway, as a last resort for when I really need to get to sleep. Most of the time the herbal stuff on its own works well enough.
Thought it was best to check as I didn't want to end up in the emergency room!
