Updated

I would like to know of any side effects others may have experienced after receiving Prolia infusions. Up to now I have none.

Re: Gloria (# 3105) Expand Referenced Message

From my experience the medicos don't tell us what the likely side effects are, neither will they, in general not recognize that the side effects we do experience have any relation to this poison. My GP refuses to believe that my problems are related to this vax at all. He says that the side effects disappear after 6 months. If only that were true. He is just going by the belief that the good affects last for 6 months and then we need another shot. In many people the bad reactions last a lifetime.

Lizzie, my rheumatologist told me the same thing. I was the only one who'd said anything about side effects and what I was experiencing couldn't be due to Prolia. This was quite upsetting.

Re: Lozza (# 3117) Expand Referenced Message

I had frequent UTI's after the Prolia shot-- they continued on and off ( mostly on) for about two years after I stopped the shot. However, it is difficult to establish a link to Prolia and I honestly did not think about Prolia being the possible cause. I have not had this problem for quite some time since stopping the shot, so perhaps, if this is a side effect, it diminishes in time.

Try to get a list of all good with high calcium content and take a minimum of 4,000 units of Vitamin D unless you have a health reason not too. Stay far away from those osteoporosis drugs. Prolia almost killed me almost 3 years ago now and only one dose.

Re: Judy (# 3133) Expand Referenced Message

Of course the medicos are in league with Big Pharma otherwise how else can we explain the utter contempt shown to those of us who have suffered debilitating side effects from this poison. Yes there are patients who have not had any adverse reactions but I suspect the number of bad reactions far outweigh those

I am sure the doctors are getting kick-backs from Amgen! As I have stated so many times, it is being marketed for money, Amgen nor the doctors tell you that this drug is being given to bone cancer patients, since 2010! It is a form of Chemo, but, of course, Amgen does not advertise that information. As I have stated many times, Prolia was a horrible drug for me and I still suffer for the side effects of Prolia. Wish I had never taken the first injection. Horrible drug!!

I have a friend who had breast cancer and they gave her Prolia. It gave her side effects, too. She told everyone she knew how bad it was. I told her I already knew how horrid it was because I already suffering side effects from it, too.

My gynecologist says: oh just a little shot twice a year.
I don’t trust this drug.
I took Forteo and it about killed me.
So, I am very hesitant about this drug.

Re: Nikki (# 3136) Expand Referenced Message

My GP, whom I have a lot of respect for, keeps trying to get me to agree to take Prolia. Fortunately my friend’s husband is a GP and strongly advised me NOT to take it. My GP mentions it every time I see him, comparing the risks to the same as driving a car! Also says if I was his mother he’d encourage me to take it. I’m sticking to my guns, digging my heels in and happily taking vit K2/D3 only. The more I read on this forum the more I’m convinced that somewhere down the line there’ll be a class action against the makers of Prolia!

hi, sorry to hear the problems go on, my friend jean,s 6 months were up 2 wk ago, she was offered and refused to take it again, the gp and nurse weren,t suprised, but on seeing the rheumatologist and telling him, he said `oh its not down to prolia`, she told him he should look on the internet, so he said no more, but offered her cortizone injection for the pain due to origonal complaint, pagets, diagnosed through arm fracture on falling, but she,s also a little osteo, spondy, also coeliac, with haitus hernia and heamo, a catalogue, she is 83yrs old, and no regrets about stopping prolia be it with increased risk of a fracture if falling, as she has got rid of some symptoms that made her feel so ill, just about finding a way of dealing with the pain now and taking suplaments, calcium etc. l,ll send her your posts as it helps her knowing others probs with it.

It has been only 1 months since my Prolia injection and I cannot sleep with indigestion and stomach cramps, which get worse at night for some reason. I was persuaded to take this injection by my Specialist but I regret having done this without enough research first. Hopefully this symptom will wear with the weeks ahead but I fear the damage it may have caused to my stomach. Why I did not read all these anti-Prolia posts first, I cannot understand. My dad ALWAYS preached about the drug companies making their millions at the expense of the illadvised. His words are haunting me now and if I could undo this dodgy injection, I certainly would. I haven't been feeling right since.

Hi, this is Barbie again...More complications from Prolia...(5 Months now)I was told I had walking pneumonia and shown X-rays...was on 4 courses an antibiotic and more steroids....My primary doctor felt she had given me the strongest meds with inhalers and nebulizer and she tried to admit me to the hospital for IV meds and more extensive testing and as she walked me out of her office told me she felt I had heart failure....they couldn't find a bed for me in admitting and sent me to ER....and after waiting for a Doctor on a gurney in ER for 8 hours and original orders for testing changed....I was sent home after being told, they were not familiar with Prolia and it wasn't on there formulary of drugs, and it wasn't posted on my record I had the Drug Prolia and that I had an allergic reaction to it....weeks later I was sent for testing in Pulmonary and only got the one same test my primary gave me....to say the least I was very confused... I also saw a Pulmonologist and her diagnoses was I didn't have pneumonia, I had a Reactive Lung Inflammation to the Drug Prolia. I had an echocardiogram for my heart and now after 18 days, they can't seem to get me the results, telling me they are not in yet....having had IC, interstitial Cystitis, for over 30 years and in remission with meds, I now have severe spasms in my bladder...
The severity of pain in my esophagus and swallowing and extended abdomen is having me see my gastro doc, for an endoscopy.....Plus my teeth are still in pain and I still am not sleeping...the Oral Dental Surgeon has told me the drug will be in my system at least one and a half years and I only had the one injection of Prolia......Thanks everyone for your support....Barbie

I started Prolia July, 2011 after having been on Boniva over 5 years. Started having side effects after one month. These include pain in neck and shoulders, skin irritation, dizzyness, headache and fever, sleep disturbancesand most unusual of all - brown spots od all sizes appeared on my arms and legs. I will not take the second shot and hope my symptoms decline in time.

I have no side effect from the spinal injections and it helps for 3-4 weeks of less pain. Its not going away completely.
My pain specialist wants to go and give me injections in my spine from top to bottom. I'm not sure if I will go ahead with that.

It has now been 18 days since my first injection of Prolia and unfortunately it has only got worse. The pain in my back continues but is more severe the numbness is still there as well. The pain in my arm is there constantly it don't go away. and my new symptoms are, I get charlie horse's in both my legs at the same time it is so painful and each episode lasts about 20 minutes. when it finally goes away the soreness is almost as bad. I wonder if this will continue or could it go away. Not sure If I want to pay another $1000 to inflict pain on myself.

I immediately started feeling strange in my mouth - really dry and tingly, cold sores on my lips emerged and don't seem to be healing. I also feel numbness in my feet and fingers. But the worst is the fluctuations from hot to cold at night. So I wake up sweating much like hormonal fluctuations in menopause. I feel light headed and weak as well. Don't feel like I can get help from the doctor since the symptoms sound trivial, but all together make me miserable. Can't wait for this to go away and its only been a week.
Is there anything I can do to relieve any symptom?
