Prolia Side Effects (Page 13) (Top voted first)
UpdatedI would like to know of any side effects others may have experienced after receiving Prolia infusions. Up to now I have none.
Re: Darcy (# 3003)
It would be a good idea if she would join this group.
As a professional, she would be a valuable resource. Another excellent resource is Save Our Bones, an online resource.
Two injections of Prolia caused a boney tumor to develop over my eyesocket. It is now part of my skull. It's inoperable. These meds will deposit bone matter wherever it feels like ...not throughout your spine, hip, etc. Most are cases of bone formations under the tongue. Inoperable and dangerous. None of these drugs are worth the hype. Be careful.
Re: Sal (# 3020)
OMG Sal!! I am sorry to hear you had spontaneous spinal fractures ~ twice. Can you share what you were doing when you think they occurred? How does one recover from them? Bedrest for weeks? Hope you never get another ~ Darcy
I had headaches then vertigo then utis...ear infections ..brain fog...leg and hip pain. My teeth are a mess...extreme tiredness and general feeling of yuk ....had 2 injections dont think Id survive a 3rd. Prolia does not make new b one it surpresses the immune system and prevents bone turnover. Once stopping you need a relay drug or risk spontaneous spinal fractures....would never wish thi as drug on my worst enemy....
As I have stated many times, Prolia was a horrible drug for me, horrible side effects and damage to my body that may never go away. There should be a class action law suit and it should be taken off the market. POISON
I'm still experiencing itching in my facial bones, especially around my eye sockets and eyebrow ridges, almost 3 years after my second and final injection of Prolia.
My inner right eye socket has sunken very noticeably, beginning back then but increasing since.
I had a basal cell carcinoma (my first and only) removed from the same inner corner of my right eye soon after I first noticed the hollow developing.
Has anyone else experienced a similar phenomenon after commencing Prolia?
It seems really sinister to me.
I am very aware that the things we see and feel may just be the tip of the iceberg.
Re: Kazz (# 3047)
So thank you to those for providing me the information about Actonel. After considering it, I
will pass; it is s Biophosphenate after all. I lost four years of my life to Prolia, I won’t risk that again. Now that finally I can exercise, I am doing that, plus, continuing my food plan.
Re: Verwon (# 1)
The worst drug I have ever taken, I suffered and am still suffering from most of the horrible side-effects of this drug. It was poison for me! Reported it to the FDA to no avail, I wish I had done research before ever taking the first shot. Horrible drug for me and the reviews online tell me I am not the only one who is suffering after taking this drug. Hope this helps others not to have to suffer as I am suffering.
Re: JenjiOz (# 3049)
Thanks for posting the info about eyes and facial bones. I have begun to experience those same things but did not think about Prolia. I stopped the shot about 2 years ago but still deal with the hair loss, bone pain and rashes. I am scheduling an eye doc appointment after reading your post... thank you.
Horrible drug for me, the side effects are terrible, and I have permanent problems because of Prolia. It was horrible for me and I will never be the same physically.
As I have stated many times, please research this drug. It is being used for bone cancer patients. It is a form of Chemo!
About 6 weeks in I had really splitting headaches...ear infections...vertigo...chronic constipation..blurred vision...burning mouth syndrome...back to back utis.as prolia affects your immune system...brain fog.
Hip pain and on going nausea....I now have an autoimmune disease...an accident I had in early Feb hasnt yet completely healed...sometimes it takes a few injections before you notice side effects..this drug has killed over 14000 ppl....and should be removed from the market as its risks far outweigh its benefits...shoul also only be given as a last resort not first cab off the rank. Have you googled what's in this drug...Chinese hamster ovaries..is one thing.....I can live without it. Now on a relay drug to stop spontaneous vertebrae fractures from the rebound affect
Re: JenjiOz (# 3071)
I wish I could say the same re my side effects. It’s been 4 years now and the sensitivities in my mouth are still affecting my eating.
Needless to say, I stopped seeing the doctor who prescribed it when she said she’d never heard of anyone having any side effects. Well, she has now!
I have been off of Prolia now for almost 2 years. I took myself off of it when my hair started to fall out. I have had all kinds of problems health wise since the start of taking this drug. I had many episodes of Vertigo but I never linked the Prolia as the cause even though it started after Prolia began. The pains and swelling in my hands and feet is very bad. My hands swell up like baseballs and the pain is intense. I live on pain meds(Advil). My Dr. was furious when I stopped and tried to get me on another one that you had to get at the hospital intraveinously. I refused. They also tried to push me on to Thyroid drugs which changed my disposition and not for the good. I stopped those drugs too. Every day is a new problem. The doctors are a disgrace when it comes to a drug not right for us or admitting it.
Re: Nikki (# 3074)
Look up Prolia in Worst Pills.org -- nothing in there about deaths but it is definitely in there with some articles about the negative effects.
Re: Kazz (# 3063)
Kazz I hope you found something to help with your fractures.
I'm terrified if that happens to me. I can't take any of the Osteoporosis drugs, so I wouldn't know what to do.
Hope you're getting better.
Nikki
Re: kerry (# 3086)
At least you know the possibilities. Perhaps you will be lucky and escape serious side-effects. Lots of people do. Mine took months to develop, causing me and my doctor much confusion. My first side-effects were not unusual and were transitory.. Then a myriad of other, more worrying things took over progressively. If you have read plenty of posts here you will have some idea of what to look out for.
I was clueless enough to agree to a second injection. Things escalated after that. It took me at least 18 months before I felt mostly recovered.
I will never again take any medication with long-term efficacy. Now I take Actonel weekly without major drama.
If you experience weird phenomena, write down your symptoms.
Perhaps you'll be more fortunate than those of us here.
Good luck!
Re: Kazz (# 3082)
Re: immune system and Prolia. Does anyone know about how a Prolia interacts with the CO
VID-19 shot?
Re: JenjiOz (# 3093)
Hi Jenji ~ The Covid question is a good one to ask. Am scheduled to get mine March 2, 2021.
Does anyone on this forum have input on a 2 shot Prolia ravaged body, and a Covid shot? We truly all need to know this in this pandemic. Lets help each other, as only we know the truth of Prolia use.
Re: Daisy (# 3097)
I believe Eventy is just Prolia reinvented by Amgen. They do that when a drug reaches the level where can be become generic and others copy it. Do be careful Daisy -am glad you are looking at all options, but you know which drugs have given you grief before . . . . After my Prolia hell, I started doing some light back exercises, upped my calcium, started taking vitamin K-2. And, of course, tons of leafy greens, cruciferous veggies ??.
Re: Daisy (# 3101)
I have been taking Actonel with no apparent ill-effects for the past 3 years. I am due for a Dexa test in a couple of months. I really hope the Actonel is doing what it is intended to do. At least it has done no harm.
Good luck with whatever you decide on! A very difficult decision indeed.
On another note, I had my first dose of anti-Covid vaccine today. I had Astra-Zenica, which is what most people here in Australia will receive. I am a bit apprehensive, due to so many weird responses to a variety of relatively ordinary medications and foods post-Prolia. But so far, so good.
