I would like to know of any side effects others may have experienced after receiving Prolia infusions. Up to now I have none.

Sal~The 2 teeth implants were about nothing but the price is terrible. Only reason that Prolia could not take out more was because I had a previous titanium implant to stop it. Probably end of June to first week in July will be my new knee that I've been putting off since 2011. There is life after Prolia, I PROMISE! Eventually it leaves us in peace and well being but as soon as we stop it all the bone it grew disappears quickly so I've been using Calcitonin with great success and no bad side effects. May you follow in my foot steps~Pood

Poodle, Continued good health to you.

Another cycle of joint pain has started. I have pain in joint a that never hurt before, such as ankles and toes. Apparently I do have some arthrits, but never experienced symptoms until Prolia. And what it is do I g to my bladder !! 20 plus years with Interstitial Cystitis and I never showed such high levels of white blood cells in my urine.

And don' t get me started on the weight gain....... I posted about this yesterday. I have gone up 2 sizes.

Ever since my prolia injection I have had one viral infection after another. It is suspected that Prolia is the culprit as it can lower the immune system. I'll never allow this poison to be injected into me again. In my opinion, shame on our FDA for allowing this drug's approval!

I've been taking prolia shots for 3 yrs,didn't experience side effects the first yr, but later on my 2nd yr.my tooth cracked n swollen. I went to my Dentist,had X-ray but didn't find any cavity or anything.My last shot was Oct 2016,few days later my left leg starts to swell feels like it's warm n heavy. I didn't take anymore my next shot last month May.2017. Still my leg is swollen,went to my Dr.again had X-ray,and Ultra sound but the results are normal.I'm so upset n worried. Could it be side effects of the Prolia shots?

I had wrote earlier looking to see who else put on rapid weight! Thank you for writing. I have had 2 shots. I'm due for my 3rd. but will not take it. I see my Dr. next week to tell her. I should of gotten it last month but she cancelled the appoint due to her work. I would like to tell her in person. I have complained since day 1 of the shot.I could feel my self grow. I am sorry for your trouble with weight gain. It is frustrating. No more dieting for me, it has been useless.

My hope is that Prolia is beginning to clear my system. It has been exactly 5 mos. since my last injection. My belief is based on the fact that this current flare of pain is less severe and a shorter duration than previously.

I gained 25 pounds in a few months. Will never take Prolia again. Also lost 7 teeth.

Sal~WOW!! You are very unusual. You have an overabundance of white cells. Generally, on Prolia, they are highly diminished. This is the first case of this to come on this site. I'm going to check on a few things for you that may help. I'll be back if I find any. In the meantime, hang in there! Big hug~

Sal~if you have a high white cell count in your urine, you probably have an infection in that area. Do the CBC's show normal or do they have a high white cell count too? When there is an overload of whites is means an infection so get busy on it please. Hugs~Pood

I have slowly lost 11 pounds but seem to be stuck. My Prolia was 18 months ago so
maybe it is leaving my body. We eat lunch and just maybe graham crackers in the evening. That is probably not a recommended diet but I am desperate. Can't wear my cloths. Will start on my dental implants next months.

18 months ago, yikes ! We are going to be traveling at the end of August to an area of the world where it will be fall,
but my fall clothes are 2 sizes too
small.
My Physiatrist, who treats Osteo with Yoga tells me it will be probably August or Sept. before Prolia clears my body. That is 8 months after my last shot.

My last injection was 11 months ago so to think that even after 18 months you can still have side effects. I am now still dealing with teeth problems, mouth sores and the worst ,so far, which started with muscle and joint pain , has become so bad that I now can barely move my right arm due to a rotator cuff tear. It could be even worse as I just had an MRI last week and get the results from the orthopedic surgeon tomorrow. Now whether this is due to Prolia will never be proven!
Also my GERD symptoms are at an all time high which could be indirectly attributed to Prolia as my anxiety level is high due to continuous pain. And no , I haven't gained weight. I've lost and am now under 100 lbs.
my wish and dream is that Amgen would stop, listen, and if they can't compensate financially , at least acknowledge that we all are in fact dealing with terrible consequences of this horrid drug and apologize . Also providing us some kind of therapy dealing with these effects, be it psychotherapists but also some support in dealing with the numerous medical situations we all find ourselves in. As in John Lennons song "Imagine" , wouldn't it be nice if those in positions of power(drug companies in this case) could show some care and compassion for the unsuspecting users of their highly pushed products. I am now in the position, like many of you, of not knowing or wanting to take any other medication for my bones. I have become so sensitive to so many drug side taken that I prefer to take nothing. As soon as my physical problems normalize I will start some exercise to help build my bones.

Judy~I too lost 65 pounds with Prolia and got down to only 100 pounds and my Doc was worried about labeling me anorexic although I could not help what was going on. It took me a long, long time to get to 120 where I want to be. I would bet good money your injection(s) were in your arm where you are having so much trouble with your shoulder. I hope you don't have to have too many implants. They are extremely expensive and I know that Prolia would have taken more of mine but it ran into a titanium implant and that stopped it in its tracks. The teeth dying at the gum line is one thing that has never been reported by Amgen as a side effect so I believe that to be our best avenue to file a Class Action Suit against Amgen. It does not matter at all how much we brush and floss. It still happens. Twice a day or even three times a day Prolia still strikes at the gum line. You will get over it in time. That I promise but it is so very, very difficult going through 'The Prolia Adventure" and it will be difficult to get your weight back to where you want to be. It's pigging out on the highest calorie foods you can find while still having a healthy diet with meat, fruits and veggies. The in-between meal snacks have to be very, very high calorie and desserts have to be very high calorie. Hope this helps some. Been there. Done that and I'm fine now. Hugs~Pood

Would be curious to know if anyone has had an esophageal hernia from Prolia - - found out today, the major part of my stomach has moved out through the espophagus and is nesting up against the side of my esophagus and laying on my heart, as well as being full of ulcers. May not be related, just curious.

Yes, I had the same thing happen to me with the hernia and had to have emergency surgery two weeks after having Prolia. I thought I was having a heart attack. I didn't think anything about the Prolia at that time. I thought it was Amotripiline that I had taken for the first time two hours before this happened to me but now I am wondering if was the Prolia since seeing other post on here. My doctor said you only have 4 hours to get to the hospital or part if your stomach will die. Are there others that this happened after taking Prolia?

keep away from Prolia its a poison drug it will cripple you for months.its made from animals ovaries doctors are pushing this drug as an experiment they know it will cripple you for life I am still in crucifying pain for over a year from that Prolia garbage drug

I don't know if this will ever end - - went for review for physical therapy yesterday. I am at 80% balance loss. They think they can return me to 50%-60% which would prevent more falls. Guess that will come after surgery to put stomach back where it should be and close up hiatal hernia. I'm really depressed, which is totally unlike me, I'm a fighter. Again, Prolia - or not, I don't know. So I will do some digging.

Linda, with the price of 7 implants, I would cross the border in Arizona. There is a fabulous dental clinic that people in the western part of the US use. It is 100% perfect and costs pennies to our $. My two were $6,500 and that does not include the crowns that my own dentist will put on in Sept. He charges about $1,000 per crown so figure the numbers. If you are in the Eastern US, there are dental schools where they are supervised to learn how to do this and it's much cheaper too. I have a friend on the East Coast that uses these people and is highly satisfied. Other friends here in the West are very happy about crossing the border. We do need passports now to do it tho. Somethings to think about. Pood
