Would like to know if anyone had side effects from Prolia but they went away - and how long did it take for that to happen?

Re: teddt (# 134) Expand Referenced Message

So glad you are seeing an attorney about this issue. I fear attorney's do not want to step on doctor prescribing. Actually I asked two doctors if they knew what Prolia is and they mumbled around and said "well I have heard of it". Don't you think a orthopedic and gastro doctor would know? I went to both of these and got no results as they did not know what to say. They disc me. I have a new ortho doctor in January. The other practice will not let me change doctors within a practice, even though my Pain Management Doctor put in a request. Piedmont Ortho in Greenville, SC sucks.

Poodle and everyone else,

An update to let y'all know how things stand to date: September 7, 2017 was my last Prolia shot but I continue to experience numerous infections and eczema which is still there though not quite as bad. Not sure on the high cholesterol issue but I did show my Primary Care doctor a print out from the Prolia site and he refrained from the cholesterol med. at least for now.

I'm praying the numbers go down to normal. I don't want to get on any of that stuff.
The chronic fatigue is worse than what it was and that wasn't too good to begin with.

As many of you have stated, it takes quite awhile before you start feeling better again. I'm believing it will be the same for me. The next time I go to my doctor I'll ask him about seeing an immunologist.

Hugs and prayers for restored health to all!

Re: teddt (# 134) Expand Referenced Message

Keep us posted. I hope you do well with an attorney. I called two but none were interested yet. I think it is lovely how you are supporting your wife! I lived in Parker 9 years - have a daughter in Highlands Ranch with a Grandbaby on the way in May. I hope to continue to improve a little each day... I will stay as strong as I can... same to both you and your wife~stay strong(er)!

Good Post Jan. I am contacting local Attorneys in Denver to sue the Dr. and Amgen for what they've done to my wife. She's been living in a Hell for the last 7 months but things are slowing coming around. Stay strong.

Re: CAB (# 132) Expand Referenced Message

One day here will be a "Bad Drug"! Class action Law suit... but no money will ever give me back the last 2 years of my life, nor repay me for the humiliation and emotional pain the doctors have bestowed upon me as they poo-pooed my symptoms and looked at me like I was a hypochondriac ... I stopped working, limit my social life and more due to the pain, IBS, muscle weakness and more. I celebrate each day I move further into Prolia's half lives... and begin to get my life back. It is sad that we all continue to go through private and individualized Hell... each of us is different yet the same-
Hugs to us all!
Jan

Re: Maria (# 131) Expand Referenced Message

Do you know the formula has Chemo? I had my first and last injection May 1, 2017 without being advised of side effects. I was so, so sick - IBS, teeth and sores in my mouth and tongue, my hair was falling out, lost 20 lbs. Lots of pain now 7 months later. Doctors do not know what they should about this drug Prolia and similar ones. I wish the substitute internal medicine doctor had never brought the subject up and sent me to an arthritis doctors who has a terrible reputation. I spent over $1400.00 out of pocket up until August and still having arm and thoracic/neck pain. I have come a long way but when does it end. I kept a detail summary of the doctors I saw and how much I spent. Sent this to FDA and my insurance company and the maker of the drug, but they could not even reimburse me for the $4,000.00 shot and I paid $200.00 out of pocket.

I do believe that this medication causes cancer. I started feeling sick two weeks after having the injection. Now, two years later, I have bladder cancer and lots of pain in my bones.

December 2017, will mark 6 months since having my 1 and only Prolia injection with no known side effects. What are the chances of 1 injection staying in my system forever? When will it be safe for me to have oral surgery?

Re: Elaine (# 123) Expand Referenced Message

I agree Prolia affects the immune system. My experience with this drug will be in my mind until I die! It is poison!

Re: Poodle (# 122) Expand Referenced Message

I had problems with a crown (pre-existing problem) and dentist would not admit it was Prolia. It was my mouth, Doc. Also had tongue and mouth sores. What a time that was. Jaw popping.

Thank you! I'll look into it. I have to watch being in the sun, even with sunscreen. If the length of time isn't too bad I might be able to do it.

Re: Poodle (# 124) Expand Referenced Message

My wife has a compromised Immune system,,,HIV,,,it was under control, CD4 count was in the high 700's. And totally undetectable. Since first Fosamax for 3 months, then a Prolia shot in May 2017. She's lost 100 in her CD4 and is now detectable. She's had a false Heart Attack, skin on her hands felt like leather, inflammation in her Ankles as big as a grapefruit. We are now fully in the middle of the 6th month. The only thing that has left is the inflammation. She can't taste food, has lost 30 pounds, pain all over her body. But she is walking a little better without her cane. I've talked to Amgen, now I've noticed they've changed their website warnings about this drug. But she was never supposed to have been given that shot. All we can do is pray, and hold out for more time.

Re: Elaine (# 123) Expand Referenced Message
Prolia causes our immune system to diminish by knocking out T-cells and T-cell helpers. Will this damage be permanent? I can be if you do not get into an Immunologist to get it corrected. Prolia also causes unknown problems in our DNA to come front and center. Again, an Immunologist is required. I can only thank mine that I am here today After my Prolia injection I was so very sick, throwing up and severe diarrhea along with all the other complaints I developed a gluten intolerance. It was horrid and I could not even smell it. Lost 65 pounds in 3 months and white as a sheet. My Doc ran Immunoglobulins and IgA was extremely low (64). At that point she got with an Immunologist that worked with her to get my immune system working correctly and I can now eat all the gluten I want with no problem. I would highly suggest you see one ASAP to find ways to take yours to where it belongs. Sometimes a small tumor can grow on a thyroid gland that will cause your problem too. Get with an Immunologist and find out how to treat your specific problem. It does not have to last forever with the correct medical help. You can be well but you have to have the correct people helping you get there. You will need a referral to see one and that should be easy. Be well~Pood

Re: Poodle (# 118) Expand Referenced Message

Poodle your saying that it's no longer the Prolia but the damage it did to my immune system ,(which is already zapping my thyroid). So with strict adherence to an anti inflammatory diet will my immune system return to normal?(or at least what it was before, years down the road.) Will I ever be free of this come and go rash and extreme sensitivity to the environment? Thanks Poodle for your feedback

Re: teddt (# 121) Expand Referenced Message
Would you mind asking if the 'jaw' issue (osteocronisis of the jaw) also includes the roots to teeth that Prolia kills before it goes to the jaw bone itself. I lost two and had implants put in. Other ladies here have lost all of their upper teeth and one in Canada has lost her front teeth. Implants are very expensive and it is my opinion Amgen should be paying for them together with the crowns on top. We all of taken very, very good care of our teeth. Thanks in advance, Pood

Re: Raccoon (# 120) Expand Referenced Message

I heard from an attorney, legal cases are in for femur and jaw issues. As of yet, there's no litigation for what I am seeing on this site. But he says with all these complaints and those being filed with the FDA, he expects a wider case being built on these issues.
