Pharmacist Refusing To Fill My Script Of Suboxone. What Do I Do??? (Page 10) (Top voted first)
UpdatedI wet to my doc 7 days early because of running out early. I took my new script to pharmacy and said, this is early so I won't be using insurance. My doc said you can call him if necessary. Well no one wanted to. They filled two per day for three days. On the third day I asked to fill the rest on insurance for the next day. I was one day early. When I called the next morning to have my daily two filled the pharmacy manager said no we won't be filling it for another 5 days. Go to the ER for your withdrawals but don't come here because I won't give it to you. Has this happened to anyone else????
One, this isn't right - you didn't do anything wrong. Your Dr gave you a script early, and since it was early you said you would pay off your insurance right? And they did that a few a day f*****g trick. Go to your Dr and tell him. Then go to a PRIVATE PHARMACY. NOT A CHAIN ONE. FILL IT.
When I first went to my pain doctor I signed a contract before being seen. Two of the things I agreed to was (1) Only get pain Meds/RX from him. (2) Use the same pharmacy to fill pain Meds. (Publix is a chain with shared info so I could go to any Publix pharmacy.)
The contract says I will be discharged as a patient immediately if I don't follow contract.
Other items were: Pill count at each visit, random urine drug testing, NO early visits or RX refills.
How can I explain that my symptoms and Injuries not to mention my depression nd , chronic pain are all bundled up to make it seem like I am in withdrawal.... 2dayz ago. My situation will only get worse
That pharmacist has NO RIGHT TO DO THAT! He/she is way out of line! Can you not take your prescription to another pharmacy? My doc put me on it for pain & I was on it for 5 yrs. It did not work but I tried 3 times getting off of it & it was almost impossible! FINALLY I was able to but had to go to the ER because I thought I was having a heart attack. The ER doc was an a-hole! So rude! Treated me like a drug addict! Keep telling me I was lying & that no doc would prescribe it for pain. I was so embarrassed & upset. Praying your situation gets worked out, be careful.
I didnt read that he went to new/another dr. I wish subs could control pain better (they do control pain imho) when i see suffering heoine abuse on tv--i dont knw why the usa gov doesnt give out free sub...seriously.
I wish i could afford, v expenseive & no ins But subs work i jave tried, didnt control psin, but was on pm looong term & when i tried sub-it was like a miracle at controlling the phys dep & if someone would be ready psychologically to cone off ops would be miracle
I took it for 5 yrs for pain, didn't work. Tried 3 times to get off of it...it's worse getting off of it than pain pills. I thought I was dying! And wanted to!
"I took it for FIVE YEARS for pain, didn't work" lol...sorry, but what the hell? I'm just wondering, like everyone else on this forum... Why in the F#C@ anyone, ANYWHERE, would continue to take something that DID NOT WORK for 5 years??.. again, I will apologize, but I call BS!!
I think if you read the message, she says she tried to get off it three times. I think that's why she stayed on it for 5 years. I can certainly empathise with her, I know for a fact that IF I stopped taking Suboxone, I would never use opiates again, because it's now the Suboxone I'm addicted to!!! That's the drug I would chase if I was to come off Suboxone, I would be chasing Suboxone. Horribly addictive, worse than opiates, I would stop taking if today if I didn't know the withdrawal I was in for. It takes MONTHS, if not years to return to "normal" after using Suboxone. It's a great medication for what it does, but I don't see myself ever coming off it.
Number 1. Depending on earliest date to fill written on prescription by your Doctor.
Number 2. No matter when you got Rx. Pharmacy will fill it 5 Day before your Rx. Is due. This is mainly for mail order Rx.
Number 3. Keep in mind your previous months fill date written on your bottle cus most pharmacy's will not fill till that date.
Number 4. If you are running out of medications before your due date, you should talk to your doctor about that. Might be you are taking more than what your doctor prescribed. (Insurance will not pay before the due date for prescription).
Beth 1989, you need to understand prescription's can not be filled early. The earliest date to fill is 5 days and that depends on pharmacy, mostly mail order pharmacy. Other pharmacy's earliest is 1 day before due date written on your previous bottle. Its not that they are being mean or they don't want to fill it, given her a hard time. THAT'S THE LAW.
Think about it, why did she run out of meds early if they give you a months supply? Is she abusing her meds?
Suboxone is not made to treat pain...like Methadone. Suboxone is a agonist/antagonist..Methadone is a full on Agonist, Schedule II, Synthetic Opioid, that's used for both opioid addiction, and pain management. It was originally created by Nazi Scientists in 1943 for treatment of pain, for the Allies had cut off their Poppy sources...and they called it Para-Codeine...
I could NOT have said this better myself! Please people, don't put up with a lot of rude, condescending,no it all jerks!!REMEMBER.....,they ultimately work for YOU AND I!!
Chrissy, if you were "What the hecking" me, I apologize..I was talking to somebody else..my bad..
House that is where you are wrong, they do not work for us and you as you put it, first of all they work for them self then they work for the store.. definitely they do not work for you, besides by law they do have the right to refuse you your meds, especially when they see you are trying to get them before the due date, that is what gives them the idea that you are abusing your meds, if you have rough days then talk to your doctor explain that at times you might take another pill and ask if maybe instead of 30 if he can prescribe 35 for those days and that way you should not have any problems with your pharmacist. I've been on pain meds narcotics for over 5yrs and i used to have same problem with insurance not approving meds or anyother reason that at times i would go 1month without my meds. Then one day i was referred to a pharmacy names IWP since then I have no worries, i overnight the prescription in there provide prepaid envelope's and they overnight my meds to me by ups at my door. They handle all the paper work after one thing is they will not let you go without your meds. I give them a 10 for there cust service and there pharmacist which are all awesome.
Yes this has happen to me so I had it tranferd to a new store as long as your
doctor said it was ok to get it then what is the reason call a 5 stores if you
have to this happen to me I got mine 5 days before my insurance would pay so
I paid on the 4 th day my insurance paid for the rest of the month
Jayb, suboxone doesn't work well for most people with chronic severe pain. I am glad that it works for your wife. There are a lot of drs that won't take a patient that has been prescribed suboxone for pain because it is mainly used for drug addiction maintance. If a dr prescribes suboxone for drug addiction, they have to attend special training and go by certain rules. If they prescribe suboxone for pain only they do not.
I am out of town. I live in Florida and I am currently 3 hours or so from home. I have ran out of my prescription of Suboxone which is 8 mg. I'm really scared and nervous it has been 2 days. I'm currently experiencing withdrawals haven't been able to leave my bed. I have heavy nausea. I need to know if I can go to a ER or a hospital?? And be able to receive some suboxin or maybe a prescription. I will be back home in a week. I really need some knowledge on this. Please someone help... With my question. Thank you
What I meant to say was that I was wondering if I would be able to have or receive Suboxone from a hospital or ER or possibly a prescription. Please help
I feel for you. Why did you run out though? I would never plan a trip or go anywhere unless I knew I had enough to see me through. I guess you could try an ER, they would definitely want to be ringing your prescribing doctor though to confirm, they are most certainly NOT going to write you a script just as a one-off. Give it a go though... Good luck to you.
