I am currently taking OXYCODONE CAP 5MG and I will soon run out of these cap. I have plenty of Hydro Apap Tab 5 325 mg tablets. Can I take these instead to use them up. Then request a prescription for the OXYCODONE CAP 5MG ## The Hydrocodone isn't quite as strong as the Oxycodone, so you might not get the same amount of relief from it, though the Acetaminophen in it may help a little, with that. To be specific, the tablet you mentioned contains 5mgs of the Hydrocodone and 325mgs of the Acetaminophen. Since it still contains a narcotic, the side effects are about the same as what you are used to with the Oxycodone and can include: nausea, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. oval white pill with v on one side and 3596 on other ## was changed from norcos to the vicodin 3596, wondering in there is more or less codien in them before taking ## NEITHER ONE HAS CODEINE IN IT!!!! Norco contains exactly the SAME ingredients that Vicodin does!! Please note the V on the pill DOES NOT stand for Vicodin. It stands for the pharmaceutical company: Vintage Qualitest. The pill marked V 3596 contains Acetaminophen 750mgs and Hydrocodone 7.5mgs. Exactly the same as active ingredients as the Norco did. The only difference is who manufactures them and possibly the dosage, if your doctor changed it. A few months ago my doctor put me on Morphine Sullfate ER 30 mg 2X a day. I had been using oxycodone at night to sleep and as needed during the day. I am not finding the morphine to be effective, and I want to stop using it. I still have some oxycodone 5 mg tablets. Is there a way I can wean myself off the morphine--and eventually the oxy--using the 5mg oxy tablets? At this point, I'd rather live with the pain than being shackled to the drugs. ## You can try, but will likely still experience some withdrawal effects. However, they will probably not be too severe if you have only been taking it for a few months. i was wondering if it was normal for me to be emotional after i take a dose of endocet. i am on it because of breast reduction surgery. it seens that every time i take a pill, an hr or so later i feel like crying. its bad enough that i spilles a little bit of orange juice & cried like it was the end of the world ... can anyone help ## & i cant spell while on it eather lol ## Unfortunately, one of the side effects has to do with emotions & sleeplessness.. If u can tolerate the dose being reduced to 5/325 it may reduce the overwhelming emotional rollercoaster you r on. Even ask your Dr.. to prescribe a different pain medication ex: vicodin.. My Dr, has me taking percocet every 4 hours it doens't help that much I have arthritis had 2 hip replacements but still have so much pain. I see my Dr. next week just wanted a second opinion. Jeanne ## This tablet contains 10mgs of Oxycodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen and if you're taking them every 4 hours, then you are taking 60mgs of the Oxycodone and 1,950 of the Acetaminophen in a day, which isn't necessarily a dangerous dosage of either one. What you really have to watch for is the effects it has on you and if it seems to be too much for you. Monitor your side effects, which may include: nausea, dizziness, constipation and drowsiness and if they are very severe, then you'll know if this amount is too much for you to take. I am to have surgery 13th July, but am on a daily dose of aspirin due to my heart problem. Any idea when I should stop taking aspirin before surgery? ## Did your doctor give you any specific time frame? The normal recommendation is to stop taking it, at least a week, before surgery, unless your doctor or surgeon has given you different instructions. You should also make sure that the surgeon knows you have been taking it, as well as any other medications you are taking.

I dislocated my shoulder and was given morphine for the pain in the hospital. The hospital gave me a prescription for Lortab, I took two the next day. My face started to get red and now I have itching and my face is puffy. I was having burning sensation at my back and later on my fingers and am diagnosed for fibromialgia .I am taking the above mentioned capsule for the past 3 months .How long shd I continue. This was an active ingredient in Percogesic, which I found very helpful alternating with fiorcet for migraines. The formula has changed to benadryl and tylenol. If possible, I would prefer to purchase only th pheyltoxoamine with no tylenol. ## I'm sorry, but this site does not manufacture, prescribe, nor sell any medications, this is an information only website. I am also not aware of the any products on the market that only contain the Phenyltoloxamine. The ones I see listed as still being available in North America, such as Novagesic and Pain-Gesic all contain the Acetaminophen. Have you tried asking your doctor or pharmacist?

Maybe im just afraid, however, Iv been taking Vicodin 7.5 (hydrocodone) for about 5 months started a few from my mom for pain for 1st month then 5. mg for one month @x day and the 7,5 for the next 3 month no more than 3 day but iv been breaking them up in to 4ths and taking them every 3 to 4 hrs. I have been waking up with headache and feeling bad first thing i think of is taking a pain pill how bad will the with drawl symptoms be? Can someone please help me with how long this stays in your system ## The normal half-life for Oxycodone based pills, like Percocet, is only 3 hours, so for one tablet, you are looking at about 10 to 12 hours before it is out of your body. This may fluxuate a little, depending on what strength you were taking, how long you were taking it, and how often you took it. If you have been taking them and they weren't prescribed to you by your doctor, because you were abusing them or obtaining them in some other manner, I am going to make the assumption that you taking quite a few each day for a prolonged period of time, so on that basis, I could say you should give it 36 to 48 hours, without taking ANY, for it to be out of your system. Pain medication ## I switched to OxyIR 5mg-1 every 6 hrs & Oxycontin 20mg-1 per 12hrs about a year ago. I have severe Fibromyalgia, have had 4 back surgeries, cancer AND Hepatitis C. Oxy. is NOT filtered through the liver. The '20mg' is used to EXTEND the relief of the 5mg. I was previously taking Percocet 10/650. The OxyIR doesn't seem to work quite as well, but I feel safer, because Percocet contains so much acetamenaphin (tylenol) and goes directly thru the liver that wasn't good for ME. As I previously stated, I switched to OxyIR about a year ago, but have been on this type (combination) of meds for 8 yrs now.
