My 91 year old mother has just been put on Roxanol prn to control any pain associated with her declining health as Dementia/Alzheimer's progresses. How does one monitor its effectiveness? ## How much does your 91 year old mother take as a dosage of Roxanol? ## The best way to tell is if she seems to be comfortable. Roxanol contains Morphine, which is a potent opiate pain reliever, so if it's helping, she will likely appear relaxed, drowsy, dizziness, and sedated, which are all normal side effects. Is she on any other medications?

I take 75mg Lyrica for nerve pain in my legs and feet. This is keeping me up for hours at night. I cannot go to sleep for 2-3 hours after going to bed. Does anyone else have this problem? ## Have you informed your doctor? You may need a higher dose of the Lyrica. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Lyrica as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, weight changes, and mood changes. However, it can also cause insomnia, so that is something to be aware of, in case it happens to you.

Need Medicade provider who pet scribes roxycodone in Huntsville Al ## I'm not sure if you are being serious or sarcastic with your question. As far as pet scribing anything, veterinarians do not accept Medicaid, if you are trying to get Roxycodone in your pet's name for you or for your pet and I don't know of any vet that would prescribe that anyway for a pet. If you need a Pain Management Doctor that accepts Medicaid and prescribes Roxycodone or Oxycodone you can try Alabama Pain Center but you have to go through a lot to get in there and through their classes and such and you won't get them right off. They will give you something else first. Good Luck. ## Good Luck!!! I have been searching for any pain management doctor who will even accept medicaid in the whole State ...

i have post surgical lower back pain. was in 50 mcg patch and had side effects and so decided to wean off. i finished with the 12 mcg patch a week ago and am still suffering from periodic nausea, irritability, daily joint and muscle pain, but the worst is the consistent restless legs. it is driving me crazy. my doctor says that is not withdrawal. is he right? i don't think so. if it is withdrawal, what can i do about it and how long will it last? i am going crazy. ## Of course it can be from the withdrawal, your doctor might be surprised if he talked to some former addicts and learned the various things they suffered, when withdrawing from their drug of choice and you don't have to be abusing a medication for such things to happen. Learn more Fentanyl details here. Fentanyl is a...

If fentanyl is 80 times stronger than morphine would you consider it safe to drive and work on the 50mg fentanyl mylan patch? ## I would not consider this safe. And I'm sure your Dr, and the local police would agree with me. A friend of mine was recently stopped by the local police. He is on dilaudid for chronic back pain, he got a DUI. Be careful and don't take dilaudids and drive. ## It's a 50 microgram patch, not 50 milligrams, because it is very potent. That said, it is usually best not to drive, operate heavy machinery, or engage in any activity that requires optimal mental alertness, when you first start taking any new medication, until you are aware of how it affects, since it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, and sedation. As Frankie has ...

I've been taking Ibuprofen 800 mgs per day for hip and knee pain. However I was recommended Ardosons for same problem and the pain relief is dramatic in just 2 days, taking 1 dose only. My concern is the interaction it may have with the blood pressure medication I am currently taking, Hydrochlorothiazid 25 mg. I know ibuprofen can also raise blood pressure. ## Hello, Linda! How are you? Ardosons is listed as containing the active ingredient Betamethasone, which is a steroid class medication. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, acne, weight gain, nervousness and insomnia. It can also raise blood pressure and heart rate, so it shouldn't be taken, without your physicians approval. Another issue is that it may cause fluid retention, which ...

I've taken pain meds for over 10 years, two years ago the doctor upped my script a bit from Vicodin 7.5/750 (d/day) to Norco 10/325 (3/day) but then last October I couldn't find the 10's anywhere (I prefer to get all my scripts from one pharmacy, a mom & pop shop I've been going to for almost 20 years). So kindly the doc switched me to Norco 7.5/350 (4/day) based on my pharmacy's suggestion. Now the pharmacy has been out for a week! I have no idea when my script will get filled and went to another pharmacy to ask an the said they aren't taking on new pain customers. I offered to transfer all my scripts there, only one is for pain but they still said no. Now what? Is there a shortage again in the Warren/Ferndale area of MI or is this happening across the count...

Last week my pain maangement doctor told me she was stumped since my epidural pain shot did nothing and no issues on imaging test. SHe brought up Fibromyalgia and the connection to my sensitive skin issues and a possible connection to my ongoing "mystery nerve and muscle pain". She prescribed my Lyrica and after only a couple of days I am a bit perplexed. My cognitive issues are pretty rapidly clearing up to a decent degree. On the other hand the pins and needles sensation that was localized ot my back and thighs is now all over my body and it very uncomfortable. The pain level has decreased only to a small degree. My doctor told me to try it for a couple weeks and go from there. Its only been a few days but i already want to stop it. Is there any instances where it amplifies ne...

At the hospital with heart and chest pain. Already on a Fentanyl patch and its not working. Is there anything stronger than the Fentanyl patch? ## No, Fentanyl is really the strongest narcotic on the market, since it's over 80 times stronger than Morphine. However, there are medications they can give you that would work faster, but on that the relevant question is, what is causing the pain? ## I need a dr in Binghamton area for my medications fentanol and Percocet my dr went out with cancer and the other dr is not weighting he scripts for anyone any more new York Binghamton vestal plead help ## Ask at your hospital for the name of a Pain Specialist, or Rheumatologist. 44-502 oxycodone 5mg peach pill ## This is not an Oxycodone tablet, nor is it any type of prescription medication. It is an over the counter product that's listed as containing 325mgs of Acetaminophen and 5mgs of Phenylephrine, it is used to treat sinus pain and congestion. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Wow, where did u get your information? I'd say you're one those that sells pills on the street, without even caring who you hurt. People like you should be put away. ## Amen Thank you for letting others know people like that deserves prison time

I WAS ON THE FENTANYL 50 MG PATCH FOR A LONG WHILE THEN WAS PUT ON A LOWER DOSE OF 25 MG AND THEN 12 MG TO SLOWLY TAKE ME OFF, AS I NO LONGER AM IN PAIN. BUT I HAVE HAD FEELINGS OF ANXIETY AND CAN'T SEEM TO CALM DOWN. IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO TO CALM THESE ANXIOUS FEELINGS. OR DO I HAVE TO LET IT (THE ANXIETY) RUN IT'S COURSE?? ## Have you consulted your doctor? Sometimes they will prescribe a low dose Benzodiazepine, such as Xanax to be used for a short while. Other people have had success using something very mild, such as Benadryl. However, you need to check with your doctor to see what's right and safe for you to use. ## vERWON IS SPOT ON WITH ALL OF HIS ADVICE, ESP THE XANAX. I was prescibed Lyrica for my nerve pain in my left leg and the doctor told me it takes at least 2 weeks to really get into your system. He also said that it is much better than Neurontin, which I am currently taking. Dont know about any side effects yet. But will let ya know. Hope this helps. ## any info on this thing helps, I have been on it for about 6 orf 7 weeks had the mg increase so will find out; thanks ## They are in the same medication class, both are anticonvulsants that have also been shown to help with some types of nerve pain. The side effects to Lyrica may include nausea, dizziness, headache, weight changes, and mood changes. How has it been working for you? ## Works for me. I have been on 50 mg of Lyrica 3 times a day for at least 10 years for idiopathic Peripheral Neuro...

A US pharmacy used to sell them. What ingredient was in the first version of Ortega that they sold? The pain was relieved after the first use, also helped my son with his pain after surgery on his cartilage on his knee. ## Correction - It was not a US pharmacy, the name of the store is "the US Pharmacy" on main street. They were a purple pill, then they changed to orange and then back to purple but a thinner round purple pill, that I believe they stopped selling the original one. They also helped my son with his meniscus knee injury after two surgeries. The info on the bottle said " they also prevented bone cancer". They were $13 for 30 tablets. I have a box from them but don't know from which batch. The box is dark purple with green lettering "Ortiga" exija ...

I am on the 100 mcg fentanyl patch and 4 mgs hydromorphone for breakthrough pain, does anyone know about the fentanyl lozenges for breakthrough pain? I’d like to request my doctor take me off hydromorphine and change to the lozenges for my breakthrough pain, I’m wondering if someone is doing this already? Thank you ## In many cases, Fentanyl isn't doubled up due to the very real risk of overdosing the patient. It is a very potent narcotic, so a doctor has to be very cautious regarding how much they prescribe, and how frequently it is to be taken. The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. An overdose, however, may be fatal. Why do you want to swi...

Need an pain clinic too treat my pain i have had 2 knee surgerys and taken 2-3 Norco 10 is not treating my pain i also have back pain ## Try TVPC/Spine and Neuro Center in Huntsville. Dr Morris Scherlis is my anesthesiologist and he is great. My only issue with them really is that for office visits I have to see one of his two staff members and the guy(Greg) is kind of an ass. Sorta condescending and suspicious of patients it seems. Also, I have a few other issues besides my back/sciatic pain and I was on several different meds for it including Ativan for anxiety/stress and ambien for sleeping problems due to my pain...I've weaned myself off both of them in the past year and done the same with my muscle relaxers. I was so sick of taking so much medication I just had to do something....

On a scale of 1-10, 10 being the highest, how strong is this pain reliever? Oxycodone / Acetaminophen, 7.5 mg / 325 mg ## Hey there I have years of experience with opiates so I’ll start off by saying it really depends on your tolerance to opiates this case is actually an opioid and it effects everybody differently, As all drugs do. I did try to answer your question the best I can if you have no tolerance at all just one of those to help pain wise can be moderately strong but not significant, and it definitely can help with pain but it really depends on what type of pain for what part of the body it’s for so little more information is needed but to continue, if you have a moderate tolerance to opioids/painkillers then just one of these really isn’t effective. I state ag...

Brownish orange round pills with the number 57 on one side the other is blank can't find it anywhere hope you can ## Hi Sonja, Based on the description provided, I located a round brown pill with "57" on one side and blank on the other to be a 200mg Motrin (Ibuprofen) tablet. (NDC 30142-235, among others) This is an OTC non steroidal anti-inflammatory drug used for treating fever and mild to severe pain. Apparently it's distributed by many different companies. I hope this helps! ## I found a reddish brown pill with 57 on one side and blank on the other. Any suggestions? ## Does it make you sleep? ## Ibuprofen is not specifically indicated as a sleep aid, it's a pain reliever and anti-inflammatory. However, if pain is keeping you up for instance, i might help to relie...

I take a one pad of cortal daily as contraceptive ## And I find it necessary to inform you that this medication WILL NOT prevent pregnancy, it IS NOT an effective contraceptive. There are many people that believe that a product containing Aspirin will prevent pregnancy, BUT THIS IS NOT TRUE! It is a myth/old wives tale! Aspirin DOES NOTHING to prevent fertilization and implantation of your egg. If you continue with this and are sexually active, YOU WILL GET PREGNANT! If Aspirin were an effective method of birth control, women all over the world would be using it and not spending a lot more money, every month, for prescriptions and visits to their doctor. The only way Aspirin may effect a pregnancy is because it is a blood thinner. It will NOT prevent a pregnancy, but if, for some reason...

What is a round orange-ish pill imprinted HD 725? ## Anybody know what this pill is? ## Hmmm, there is so little information on this pill, at least on here. The only consensus I've come across is that it's discontinued (probably for a long time now) but one person is saying it's an antibiotic, and another says it's Darvocet. The related forum is HD725 round pink. Where did you find it? ## I found them when I was moving someone. They also had some red capsule pills called tylox ## It is NOT darvocet, they were never round in any form ## Thank you for clarifying that
