To me the Mallinckrodt 367 are the most effective all around. Interpharm/Amneal (same company /have merged) IP110 version comes in second for me. Watson seems to be the worst with noticeably much less effectivepain relief and with me seems to act more like a sedative, knocking me out which sucks when you want to be functional/productive. Qualitest is okay but seems to be similar to the Watsons only with less sedation. Personally if the pharmacy doesn't carry Mallinckrodt or Interpharm/Amneal then I won't fill my prescription there. I know this subject has been discussed here many times before but I figure since the recent apparent formula ...
Hi, i get the yellow norco pill with a cursive v and 3601 on the back. Is there a better brand? ## Vintage Pharmaceuticals Inc. manufactures the pill V 3601. Watson Pharmaceuticals also manufactures this drug. More specifically "Watson 358" is the same dosage as the pill you are describing. And as far as I know, the brand name Watson is among the most popular. But based on this information maybe you can ask your pharmacy/doctor for the Watson brand (Watson 358) and see if you feel a difference in effectiveness. Hope this helps! Please post back if you have any other questions or comments. ## what pharmacies use this watson or vintage kind? i got the m357 and its horrible. publix and walmart both use this..i dont wantit again ## YOU ARE SO RIGHT! Those White pills do not work wel...
I too am a chronic pain sufferer, I was in a bad car accident several years ago, all my limbs were broken at once and they used my hip to rebuild one of my feet. I have a GP that has been helping me but now feels she has been letting me use too many narcotics and has abrubtly cut me off. I'm interested in controlling the pain not using the pills but it feels like nobody really cares. Is there any doctors in the Kansas City area who believe in pain management with narcotics. I believe that if you don't understand the pain of the indivdual it's hard to understand why we ask these questions. I don't want to shop for a docotor that's not what I do but what are we suppose to do if they won't help us. ## Hello, JJ! How are you doing? I am very sorry about the problem t...
My dr has quit practicing. I am on a low dose opiate paingmt & am being treated like a drug addict seeker by every dr I see. HELP!! I have no quality of life because of this pain ## I have found a Dr. Simon in overland park kansas very limited # of pills per day (4) have to be able to come in when they call for a U A and must bring in pills for a pill count. Good luck I hope this helps. I wish you all the best. ## My pcp was prescribing me 150 Oxycodone 5mg rapid release tablets and on February 2017 he sent me to see a pain doctor in Kansas where he ran some diagnostics and found that I have chronic pain in my lower back and neck. He prescribed me Oxycodone 10s for one month and told me to go back to my pcp and follow up, which I did way back in July, and now my pcp dropped me &...
Need advice! I came to this site with the same issue, over a year ago - I'm one of unlucky people that has extreme sensitivity to "fillers" in most white colored norco 10-325 generic. I FINALLY found the dark yellow Qualitest. It was a VERY PAINFUL 3 month struggle! Now, with currant conditions, can't find this brand anywhere near me! Really need HONEST advice regarding any generic manufacturer that is well tolerated by ONLY PATIENTS WITH MY SIMILAR ISSUES PLZ. The malencrap & aurobindo were the worst. They gave me migraine headaches & sick to stomach. If someone has similar issues AND KNOWS OF A BRAND that is GOOD, please let me know. I'd be grateful. If need be I can have my Dr change the Rx to Vicodin or Vicoprofen. I just need a GOOD manufacturer name to ...
im taken oxycodone7.5/325 but it isnt working so my doctor is given me oxycondone5mg wich is stronger ## I think it's obvious to say that Acetaminophen (325 mg) + Oxycodone (7.5 mg) with the higher dose is stronger than the one with only 5 mg of Oxycodone and the same dosage of Acetaminophen. What i'm confused on, is why the doctor would give you a lower dose when you told him it wasn't working (or not strong enough I presume)? Some reviews I have come across say that it depends whether or not the medication is the generic version V.S. an off brand version, that determines how effective it may be. I personally can't verify this, but it seems to be a common trend in making sure you get the right brand of Oxycodone to find what suits your needs. I would assume that your do...
Hi. I have had my C6 and C7 replaced in my neck and I am under pain management and I wanted to know about this medicine called "849 gab bac cyc ib lid cr". Would it be good for me when I'm having pain around my shoulders in my neck to rub on? ## Hi Ethel, Sorry to hear about your situation. I hope you're well on your way to full recovery from the neck surgery. - Gab stands for Gabapentin - Bac stands for Baclofen - Cyc stands for Cyclobenzaprine - Ib stands for Ibuprofen - Lid stands for Lidocaine - Cr typically stands for Cream (or being topical) Gabapentin is often prescribed for nerve pain. Baclofen and Cyclobenzaprine are both muscle relaxers. Ibuprofen is used for mild pain relief. And Lidocaine is also numbing and offers some degree of pain relief. Depending on how...
I have been on the same medication for 3 years how do i go about asking my dr to change my medications. How do i explain to him that they no longer releave me pain any longer ? ## Just talk to them about it, your doctor should be well aware that the same dosage and/or same medication doesn't work for anyone forever and they will require a dosage adjustment, or switch to a different medication sooner or later. You're actually very fortunate that it worked for you for 3 years. What medication where you taking? ## wasnt aware thanks for info ## Hi Dianabrn! As Dr. Verwon said," just have a talk with your doctor." I'm sure he/she will understand. I was in the same situation as you when I was on pain meds. Your body also builds up a tolerance to the medication when taken ...
What is a purple pill with 30 on one side and ABG on the other. Is it a morphine pill? ## This tablet contains Morphine sulfate extended-release 30 mg (NDC 0591-3512). Round, lavender-colored, film-coated tablets bearing the symbol ABG on one side and 30 on the other. Inactive Ingredients: - Cetostearyl alcohol - Hydroxyethyl cellulose - Hypromellose - Magnesium stearate - Polyethylene glycol - Talc - Titanium dioxide Ref: DailyMed ## yes it is ms contin morphine ## Yes, that is a Morphine pill. Most likely MS Contin, which is the extended release form of Morphine so make sure you swallow it whole and don't crush, chew, or break before taking in order to prevent too much being released into your system all at one time. ## Wow, now that's an echo. LOL! Three of us answering the ...
what is the difference between ecosprin 150 mg and ecosprin AV 20 150mg? what are the side effects if taken prolonged? ## Ecosprin is listed as containing the active ingredient Aspirin, while Ecosprin AV contains Aspirin and Atorvastatin, so while the first can help with blood thinning and heart health, the one with Atorvastatin can also help lower cholesterol levels. The NIH lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding, easy bruising, and joint muscle aches. While there may be some risks associated with long-term use, such as liver or kidney damage, it would be far more risky to stop the medication against your doctor's advice, since blood clotting and elevated cholesterol levels could lead to fatal conditions. Are you...
Severe pain in left leg upper joint only when I stand. This pain is really severe, I am not able to stand any time but I can walk without pain. This only from a month ago. I wish to know the reason for this and what is the remedy? ## No one is going to be able to give you a definitive answer just from a post on the Internet. Your medical history, as well as any medications you are on have to be taken into account. Plus, to get to the root of the problem and provide proper treatment, you will probably need a physical exam and some medical tests performed. What may remedy the situation will depend on what the findings are, after all of that is taken into consideration. From the information you have provided here, anything anyone suggests would be pure guesswork. There are many things that...
I have just received two scripts, one is Morphine Sulfate IR 30 MG and the is Morphine Sulfate SR 30 MG tablets. It doesn't say which one is the slow releasing and which one isn't. Can you please help me with this? ## I'm happy to help you! IR stands for immediate release and the SR stands for sustained release, so the IR is the fast one and the SR is your time released formulation. You can learn more Morphine details here. Since Morphine is a narcotic, it may be habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Verwon - Is correct. IR is Immediate Release and SR or ER is Sustained Release or Extended Release. As I am sure you are aware, MORPHINE; in any form, can become very addicti...
Omg...I had no clue darvocet was removed off the market....I had an old script from 4 yrs ago....I had teeth extracted 3 days ago and I am in extreme pain...I took one of the darvocet.... Now im terrified it's going to kill me. ## no u won't die...the fda removed the drug due to higher rates of heart problems...it is as safe now as it was 4 yrs ago. ## Mickey is correct, it wasn't killing people when they took one pill. What it was doing was causing cardiac damage and issues, however, they were also reversible in most cases, once the drug was discontinued. You should dispose of them though, to make sure you don't take any in the future. And for most dental extractions, a simple NSAID, such as Ibuprofen is enough to relieve the pain and swelling, unless your doctor or den...
My grandfather has a Darvocet prescription from 1997- 16 years old. He's convinced that he can still take it even though it is so old. I think they need to be thrown them away .... Are they safe even though they are 16 years old?? ## Hello, Worried! How are you? Yes, the Darvocet should be disposed of, not just because it's old, but because it was also found to be dangerous and has been pulled from the U.S. prescription drug market. It was found to be caridotoxic and there were some fatalities. ## Thank you so much! ## I had some from 2008 and it was fine.
I have been taking tramadol for about a week. The last time was about 24 hrs before I took lortab 10/325 and it seems like the Lortab did not work at all? how long till the Lortab will work again? ## I don't think it ever will work the same if you have been on tramadol for a long period of time. But a week shouldn't have any affect on the lortab not working. I used lortab before switching to tramadol and now when I get severe spine pain that lortab does Nothing . So I think ur body has to re adjust to it. This is my personal opinion . I am no Dr though :) ## Wow! You really shouldn't try to take multiple doses, at once, like it, it creates the risk of overdose, which could cause organ damage, failure, or death. The current FDA directions instruct you to only take one tablet,...
I have hepitus c and take 4 10/325 percocfts a day.Am I hurting my liver? ## Yes. You are taking 1300mg of acetominaphin (tylenol) each day which you should not be taking ESPECIALLY if you already have liver damage to begin with. Talk to you Dr. about removing the tylenol from your daily meds and trying something different. ## Have your doctor prescribed them for you, and are they monitoring you regularly? It isn't that it can't be taken, but you do have to be very cautious. Acetaminophen can be very detrimental, and could contribute to further liver damage, or liver failure. The FDA also warns against drinking alcohol while taking these medications, and/or having any type of liver problem. The Oxycodone in Percocet is available by itself, so you could ask your doctor about pres...
oval v printed one side and the other side 3592 ## The V is a manufacturer's logo, it is not indicative of what the tablets contain. However, Vicodin does contain Hydrocodone, and Acetaminophen, and the tablet with the V 3592 marking is listed as having contained 5mgs of Hydrocodone, and 500mgs of Acetaminophen, but this was changed several years to containing only 325mgs of Acetaminophen, due to new FDA regulations. No dose of combined opiate medications can contain more 325mgs of Acetaminophen per dose. NDC: 00603-3881 Thus, the tablets with the 500mgs of Acetaminophen are no long available. The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. ## Are Vicodin and Hy...
I take alaxan at 7pm because my body is in pain.. But then i realized its because i have a flu.. So i decided to take bioflu at 12am. Is it ok? ## Hi yes that's perfectly fine. Alaxan is paracetamol and Ibuprofen - Bioflu contains Paracetamol as well used to treat pain and fever and is known to be generally safe even for pregnant women. ## I have done this in the past and I'm still alive! I recently had my annual physical and my results are good. I'm 40. If body ache calls for relief and Alaxan will provide just that, then that's fine. It's not like you're popping one pill after another. And the fact that there's a 5hr interval was good enough, if your symptoms call for it. Often, with health issues you need to weigh the pros and cons as you listen to your bo...

I need to know if Demerol 50mg tablets have been discontinued? Pharmacists say only the liquid form is available but my doctor is not willing to prescribe the liquid form, so I need to know what an equivalent may be. ## Most Doctors will not prescribe Demerol on an out patient basis in any form. I had lung cancer and it was administered in the hospital but the Doctor said he would not prescribe it on an out patient basis. It will relieve my pain better than anything but I have only received it on an inpatient basis. ## Hi laura, unfortunately it appears that the demerol tablets have in fact been discontinued: ## I remember it being good for knee pain and that's about it. It has some serotonin issues or something. I believe it was popular among football (USA) players but keep that h...
