My last 2 months of taking Alvogen 10/325 are turning faint yellow and look like they have been in water as the shape and medicine doesn't seem to be that effective. Can you tell me why the pill is changing its color and not effective as of 3 months ago? I may have been taking the Watson brand or some other brand. ## Hi Judy, Are you meaning to say that the new prescription is yellow when you get them filled or that the pills gradually turn yellow [perhaps through oxidation or other unknown causes] while you have them in your possession? I've been on 7.5/325, I was using Walgreens Pharmacy to get my script filled. However, I have noticed that the "Watson Brand" ---- of hydrocodone (Walgreens carries) is not strong at all.. After doing research-- discovered Watson was purchased by Actavis--- and since have changed their formulation in all "hydrocodone". I called Watson/Actavis----to report the pills are NOT strong.. They have been getting a lot of complaints! I'm prescribed to take 6, 30mg Oxycodone a day and I normally just take one. I have a Dr. appt. in 8 days for them to check my levels by blood tests. How far in advance do I need to begin taking all 6 for my levels to check out correctly? ## Dr. gave me order for oxycodone level blood test. He knows i run out about 4 days begore appt.I took 2 15 mg about 3 pm day before. 2 15 mg at 6 am took test at 8 am. This past Friday, I had an allergic reaction to Nubain. Within 5 minutes of the injection I was experiencing all over body burning chills. Within the next 20 minutes, 911 was called. 4 EMT's arrived to find me on the bed having convulsions and screaming. It too 2 of them to hold me down so benedryl cound be administered. I was taken to the ER where for the next 7 hours I screamed and convulsed, the movement was totally involuntary. I could not stop shaking. The screams were caused by the pain over my body which felt like I was on fire and being frozen at the same time. I had difficulty breating, also. Wondering how long Vicodin stays in your system. I have 2 problems at L 3 & 4 & can't see the spinal surgeon until 31 Oct. My primary physician gave me the Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen for pain & sleep. Instead of sleep I am totally wired. I haven't had one second of sleep in the last 4 nights. ## Hello, Dee! How are you? Yes, it can cause that in some people that take it, though it isn't common, the FDA does list it as being possible. Trying to find an over the counter pill that looks like a pink oxycodone. I suspect that my roommate might be taking some of my prescription so I am hoping to use an OTC medication as a diversion which would not cause them harm. ## Well, what are the specific markings on your prescription pills? The thing is that you probably won't find any over the counter products to match the look of your rx since they are required to carry unique inscriptions per the FDA. With that said, and I'm not advocating this behavior, your best option might be to press fake sugar pills which will basically do nothing for them but look like your original prescription. But of course this is not nearly as good of an option as confronting them, or even filing a police report if it becomes too out of hand....

Abusers give people like me a bad name. I suffer from chronic back pain chrons disease and other problems. I have to use pain management to be able to live a somewhat normal life. And people who take these drugs to get high are ruining for people who really need the medication to function. No wonder the DEA is pounding on us. It's now getting really hard for us to get our meds and we go by the book use one dr and take our meds and do not give or sell them but bc people like y'all do we are being punished for it. So thanks a f***ing lot. I had a Dr that was was suspended , SO STUPID!!! Now I am looking for a DR that will write for what I was on, Morphine 39 mgs 4x day and methadone 60 mg daily. I tried to be cute & see of I could stop taking my meds & gauge my pain levels without it for a week. Then I remembered I probably would be having a drug test this month at pain management. If I begin taking the oxycodone 4 days before my test, as prescribed, will my levels be as accurate as they would have if I had taken it every day for 5 months?

This stuff is garbage! Doesn't kill the pain and makes me sleepy, which never has happened before. Been in this stuff for years. Hello .I have been using Tylenol 1 with 8mg codeine to deal with chronic pelvic pain.. Sometimes I have to take alot like 13 to just hit the pain level..was prescribed Oxycodone 5/325.. 1every 4hrs.. will it be sufficient for pain level ? Until problem dealt with! ## Oh heck. Please stop taking 13 Tylenol tablets at a time! The 8mg of codeine isn't a particularly effective analgesic and the acetaminophen 300 mg, is paracetamol, which whilst being a very effective, useful, broad spectrum analgesic for mild to moderate pain (it can also be used to reduce a temperature, but I digress) is incredibly toxic when taken in excessive amounts. The maximum safe amount of acetaminophen/paracetamol you can take in a day is 4g/4000mg. So yes, technically you can take 13 of them in 24 hours, but y...

A new pain pill exstinded relief that starts with and a not avinsa ## Hi Eddie, What about the name Astramorph? It too is another brand of Morphine like Avinza. However, the difference is that Astramorph is an inj./epidural. And while I'm not sure how new it is or how long the relief lasts, inj's. are typically a lot stronger than oral pain meds due to increased bioavailability. Unfortunately I haven't heard of any other pain meds that start with an 'A', but if anything I hope this at least helps narrow down your search.
