I have been taking this med app. 6 months, oxycontin 80mg, they just changed it to opana ER 40mg., does anyone know the difference? Does anyone know which is better for arounf the clock severe pain? Thank you ## They are both different opiates, but you've been given an equivalent dose. There really is no better or best medication that anyone should tell you, it depends on you and what works best to relieve your pain. Have you tried the Opana, yet? The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## Opana is probably one of the strongest narcotics out there for in home use. I'm not talking about injectables, pills only. It has very ...

Is the government making hydrocodon-acetaminophen available only to patients with certian condition? ## Not that I'm aware of, but it has been restricted further by the DEA. It was changed to a schedule 2 medication in 2014/early 2015. Additional DEA directives were issued advising doctors of what they deemed to be appropriate limits for people not suffering from intractable pain due to a possibly fatal illness. In turn, this has caused some doctors to stop prescribing it, as well as other narcotics. The FDA has found it to be very commonly abused, plus it has habit forming potential for virtually anyone that takes it. Has anyone else heard something about this?

How soon after taking hydrocodone 10/325 can I take tylenol #3. My doctor is switching me to the tylenol # 3 and I read "do not take tylenol #3 if you have 'recently" taken another narcotic medication," but it didn't state the meaning of 'recently." ## Hello, Najnaj! How are you? Unless your doctor, or pharmacist instructs otherwise, it is usually intended for you to stop the one medication and start taking the new one at the schedule dosing time. In other words, it usually not necessary to wait days, just the regular amount of time that you would take another one. The FDA classifies Tylenol 3 as a narcotic analgesic, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Is ...

i took 1 low dosage morphine is that enuff to show up in a screen? im prescribed 30mg oxys but am out so neone knw i neverr took a morphine b4 n im 4ft 11 in 118 lbs???? ## As a narcotic, Morphine can be detectable in a standard urine test for approximately 4 to 5 days, after last dosing, so yes, it can be detected if the test is within that time frame. How did you end up running out early? ## Will a small prescription morphine pill show up In a preemployment urine test? And if so for how long? It was a small white pill with a M on it and I was told it may have only been 4mg but could be wrong only lasted a couple hours. ## Don't sound like a morphine at all. Small white with an M? They do not make a 4 mg. I don't think? 15 mg's and 30 mg's usually have a number. One...

Does Tramadol contain opiates? And when doing a drug test will it show up the same? Or as different pain medications? ## Tramadol will absolutely not show on a five panel test I take four 50 milligrams a day for back pain took a drug test for a new job it showed nothing

Is Hysingla ER as bad as Zohydro ER? ## Hello, Wondering! How are you? What problems did you have with Zohydro? This is basically the same thing, it also contains Hydrocodone as the active ingredient, in an extended release formulation. It's just manufactured by a different company and the time released mechanism is different. The FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## To the initial poster. If you are reacting to Zohydro's initial lack of any type of anti-abuse deterrent, Hysingla ER has such deterrents in place. While there is a lot of controversy surrounding these new extended release hydrocodone based medications...

for 3 years my dr. was prescribing me three 60mg morphine sulphate er and four 30mg ms ir daily. when it became impossible to get MS in Florida, he switched me to Fentanyl patch 12MCG/HR every 3 days and 7.5mg-200 hydrocordone , 1 every 8 hours. the pain was unbearable and I felt terrible. cold sweats, shakes, could'nt think straight. when I asked him to increase dosage, he increased the patch to 25 MCG, but said there was more MS in the 7.5-200 hydrocodone than the 30mg tabs of ms. do you agree? Also, how does the patch equate to the Three 60MG MS er I was taking daily? Prior to this Dr.,after I moved 200 miles away,, my orthopedic surgeon was prescribing me Oxycontin, or oxycodone. When I called him 3 years ago and told him The new pain management Dr. switched to MS, he said its l...

I am prescribed Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen 7.5-325, but was prescribed Morphine 30mg ER & Fentanyl patches... the Hydro doesn't work & I still have some Morphine left & a lot of patches left... I'm wondering, when they do a urine test, will they be able to see the Morphine? I know that the Fentanyl shows up differently. How long prior to my appointment must I stop the Fentanyl in order for it NOT to show up? It's strange, cuz on my Pain management doctor's list, he still has the Fentanyl listed!! Even though I weaned (stupid me) myself off of it six months ago and told him to stop it!!

Has anyone heard about the pharmaceutical companies making a time released fentanyl pill? I briefly saw something about it but cannot remember where? ## That'll never happen, too easy to take accidentally...and it's now 2012 ## Fentanyl oral is Oravescent 800mch.I was on the trial back in 06.they work very fast and for 3-4 hrs. ## Has come in a lollipop since 02 I know of. This is for , pardon the expression break through pain.

Most of these people are just whinners. I've been taking oxys for 15 years or more. Recently the pharmacy i used switched to this brand. There isnt a difference - if blindfolded u coudnt tell the difference. Only beef would be not being able to cut it in half. Again these work as well as thee others. People just like to complain. I have pain from my neck to my toes. If they were not working i would surely complain about it. So quit crying, it's in your head! ## Hello, BruceG! How are you? While I am glad that this medication is working so well for you, what you have stated is not correct. Since there can be fluctuations from one generic to another, which is permitted under the Hatch-Waxman Act of 1984, not all medications from every manufacturer work for everyone that tries them...

Blue V 48\12some are smaller and darker are they placebos? ## Hello, Ria! How are you? Quite a few people have posted about these recently and I must admit that I don't have any information on them. There have been no changes reported in the prescription drug databases, so far. That means there's a chance that these may be fake. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Where were they obtained? ## I bought what I thought was a 30mg Oxycodone with the V on one side and other side has the 48 score 12 on it and the pill was a very thick pill, it tasted sweet and a little bit of soapy tasting but more of the sweet taste so it had to be a (PLACEBO) an I thou...

what color do these pills look like? ## There is no 60mg of the instant release Oxycodone, it is only available in 5mgs. There is a time released tablet in 60mgs, called Oxycontin, which would have the marking OC or OP on one side and a 60 on the opposite side. The tablets should be red. This is a potent narcotic, so it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## there is oxycontin 30mg instant release but that is as high as instant release goes. ## oxycodone does not just come in 5mgs. They also come in 10s 15s, 20s, and 30s. I know cause I've had all of them within the last year. I suffer from chronic pancreatitis. Oxycodone does not come in 60mgs. Pill that is red and has an X that goes from end-to-end on one side and blank on the other - Does anyone have any idea what it might be? Oxycodone maybe? ## All prescription tablets in the U.S. are required by law to have unique imprints to enable their identification, in case of emergency. Therefore, since this one only has that score line, we can rule it out as being any type of prescription product, which means that it is most likely something that's available over the counter. That leaves it open to many possibilities. I haven't found anything that matches this description, yet…but I'll keep looking and post back, when I have information for you. Does anyone else recognize this tablet? ## Hello i have the same pill . but it came in a perc. Pouch. Punch out . but do...

Hello everyone, I have severe back and neck issues along with bone chips in my foot from being shot 2 months ago by a friend and last week my son got my script and usually if I know the pills are the 176 ones, I'll refuse them. Well I have been taking them for a while and asked the Dr back in July 2nd that I'd like to try the 10mg methadone instead of the norco - so he did 3 a day and it was fine for about a week and a half but then my back and neck started up again. And after 3 weeks I was out of them. I called and told them that it didn't work so I got these last week on Monday and I took 2 when my boy got home and I had been in bed for a week in pain, so I thought great - and still 2 hours later no relief. So I took 2 more and then I noticed that they weren't the m367...

Taking 5/325 hydrocodone & ancetamin for fractures in leg & arm. Even though this is small dose I am experiencing itchy face & some shallow breaths or longer time between breaths. I notice this at night . Only been on med for a week but read that these side affects are dangerous. Now afraid to continue pain control with these pills. I was wondering if this is because I take zoloft at nite with the pain med? The pain can get severe so dont know what to take anymore. ## Hello, Mickact! How are you doing? Has there been any change? I think it would be best to consult your doctor, because yes, those could be danger signs, and you might need to switch to a different medication. The FDA lists the typical opiate side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mo...

300-30mg acetaminophen code in vs 5-325mg hydrocodone with acetaminophen no story please just need to know which is stronger, thank you! ## Hello, Cynthia! How are you? I'm happy to help you with this question. Compared to the opiates that were derived much later, Codeine is very mild. For example, according to the opioid converter provided by Global, it takes 33.33mgs of Codeine to be equivalent to each 5mgs of Hydrocodone. Thus, while it may not look like it, if you go by the dosage numbers, Hydrocodone is actually much stronger than Codeine. The FDA classifies these medications as narcotic analgesics, so they carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help...

what is the difference between percocet and vicodin? wanted to know what makes the drugs different don't they do the samething? ## Hello, Glo! How are you? The NIH lists Percocet as containing Oxycodone with Acetaminophen, while Vicodin contains Hydrocodone with Acetaminophen. So yes, they treat the same conditions, but are different medication formulations. Not every medication works for everyone that tries it, so there are usually several available in any given treatment category, thus your doctor can try a different one, if you don't respond to the first you try. The FDA classifies these as narcotic analgesics, so they carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Looking for an understanding Pain Management Doctor in Pa. I was with a great doc, and went for a visit to find out he had to pull my med's due to 2 of his patients that OD'ed. My pain management doctor just cut me off of oxy because I neglected to tell him my dentist prescribed pain meds after he removed 3 dental implants and pulled 3 teeth. I am in the process of having the remainder of top teeth pulled for full dentures. I had a total left hip replacement in December and continue to have pain in my back and hips. My right hip is now starting to show the same symptoms as my left before it was replaced. I'm not abusing the drug; I take as prescribed. However, because I didn't inform my doc of dental issues AND because I had the script filled at a pharmacy closer to my home (after dental surgery), he thinks I am trying to run a scam. Can anyone help me?

I was prescribed 60mg Morphine ER twice a day with 10mg norco up to 6 tablets a day for 2.5 years. I always took it as prescribed never asked for early prescriptions. A few months ago my rheumatologist sent me to a pain dr for management because he said I am too young (35) to be on this many narcotics. The new dr is super nice and you can tell he wants to medicate me to manage my pain but has changed my medication around all over the place to doses that are too low or medications that don't work or cause side effects. I was managed on the morphine and norco and told him I didn't need him to change anything but to just give me a new rx. Because of the DEA and FDA he wanted to see if there were medications that would help that aren't as controlled by the DEA. Because of the ag...
