Alvogen Oxycodone - Apap 10-325mg Tab Round Yellow 230 Logo

My last 2 months of taking Alvogen 10/325 are turning faint yellow and look like they have been in water as the shape and medicine doesn't seem to be that effective. Can you tell me why the pill is changing its color and not effective as of 3 months ago? I may have been taking the Watson brand or some other brand.

Hi Judy,

Are you meaning to say that the new prescription is yellow when you get them filled or that the pills gradually turn yellow [perhaps through oxidation or other unknown causes] while you have them in your possession? If the latter, I think that is really strange and this is probably the first time I've heard of something like that happening to any pharmaceutical. If I were you I'd consider contacting the pharmacy who filled your prescription and ask them if this is a normal occurrence. The change might also be the result of you taking a different brand, but if you don't know for certain then please do take the time to call and confirm. If I'm not mistaken, most pharmacies usually keep a database with patient/customer information, so they may be able to tell you what manufacturer you had filled before this one.

Just for the record, Alvogen's 10/325 generic percocet (with a National Drug Code of 47781-230) is depicted as being yellow... So I doubt that it's actually changing colors before your very eyes? Odds are that you had a different manufacturer and were switched to Alvogen without any prior notice.
