Oh heck. Please stop taking 13 Tylenol tablets at a time! The 8mg of codeine isn't a particularly effective analgesic and the acetaminophen 300 mg, is paracetamol, which whilst being a very effective, useful, broad spectrum analgesic for mild to moderate pain (it can also be used to reduce a temperature, but I digress) is incredibly toxic when taken in excessive amounts. The maximum safe amount of acetaminophen/paracetamol you can take in a day is 4g/4000mg. So yes, technically you can take 13 of them in 24 hours, but you can't take them all at once. Acetaminophen toxicity has replaced viral hepatitis as the most common cause of acute hepatic failure and is the second most common cause of liver failure requiring transplantation. Whilst the toxicity levels for adults are around 7g/7000mg taken all at once, over an extended time there is a cumulative effect. It isn't that the drug remains in your system, but the liver will struggle to function when you're constantly battering it with a maximum dose, taken all at the same time.
I'm hoping that I just read your question wrong and you're actually only taking the maximum dose, spread out throughout the day. It still isn't great, but at least you will be giving your body time to metabolize the acetaminophen between doses. However, you are still putting yourself at risk of addiction. Even in the low 8mg dose, codeine is highly addictive. Far too many people start taking it for genuine pain, only to find themselves unable to wean off, or worse, increasing from the safe dose instructed, to crazier and crazier levels, until they make themselves seriously ill.
If you are suffering from chronic pain or having to look at taking a serious analgesic to deal with a painful injury, you really should be doing so under the care and advisement of a medical professional. Self medicating can be dangerous. If you were already being prescribed oxycodone, then you have already been consulting a doctor. Why are you no longer receiving that prescription? What did your doctor suggest as an alternative to you, once your prescription for oxycodone was discontinued?
Doctors are clamping down more and more on pain medications after the huge epidemic of prescription medication addiction of the past 20 years. But they still have to assess the concerns and requirements of their patients. He/she may have only wanted for you to be on the oxycodone for a short period of time, to avoid dependency from setting in, but there are other pain medications available, both from within the opiate/opioid family and others. If they believe your concerns to be viable, then there are stronger codeine based formulations available on prescription that you can discuss with your doctor, but long-term use of anything opioid or opiate isn't ideal.
If you are still suffering from pain then please speak to your doctor. Oxycodone is a lot stronger than codeine; 100mg of codeine being roughly 10mg of oxycodone, depending on various factors (they are not the same drug and so comparisons regarding strength/efficacy are not exact. Not to mention that everyone processes medications different, so it's never going to be an exact science. Anyway, your oxycodone tablet of 5/325 had 5mg of oxycodone in it. That's about 50mg of codeine. Technically that would mean that between 6 and 7 Tylenol would be a comparable amount. But that doesn't take into account the added analgesic effects of the acetaminophen/paracetamol which will also help with pain.
HOWEVER.... I don't know whether your question is simply about pain relief, or to do with the recreational use of said substances, because question like this are often raised by those who are trying to find products that give a comparable high, to a medication they have been using. If this genuinely isn't your concern then I apologize, but lets just say I've been around long enough to recognize a familiar question when I see one. If you are trying to find an OTC medication, for recreational use, that will compare to the feelings you got from oxycodone, then starting down the road of using something like Tylenol is very dangerous. Not only is it incredibly easy to develop a tolerance and then a dependence, but the added acetaminophen can and will damage your liver if you take it every day and find yourself gradually increasing the number of pills you take. Once you get started down that road, it's very hard to stop. If you are already suffering from addiction/dependency then go seek medical help now before it gets any worse. Do not be ashamed, doctors see this every day and will know how to help you/refer you for treatment. The sooner you do so, the easier the journey back to health will be.
Of course, if you have no such inclinations and truly are just looking for a good basic painkiller, then Tylenol 3 is a fairly good, basic analgesic combination that is suitable for short term use only. For longer periods of recovery, get your doctor to prescribe you a suitable medication, where they can also keep an eye on your liver function via blood serum analysis while taking said meds.
I hope this helped.
