I took 5/325 hydrocodone twice daily but also drink a lot of water - my last test came back negative when I had taken one the day before the test (they were late refilling my prescription) and the test showed no trace amounts of it in my system - could I be drinking too much water? ## I have had the same thing happen to me and they have threatened to stop prescribing it if I get another negative test. I am prescribed 2 per day as needed for breakthrough pain. That means some days if I'm in excruciating pain I will take more than 2 and I know that other days I will have to take less. I don't need them every day so this is how I "manage" my pain. I can't understand why I've come up with negative tests at all. I sometimes will only take a half if I am running low or...

Found a white oval pill with imprint 2172 in my son's sock drawer and need to know what it is. ## Hi Lisa, From what I could gather, a white oval pill marked with 2172 is identified as a generic Hydrocodone Bitartrate 5mg + Acetaminophen 325mg tablet. Apparently it's a fairly new manufactured version made by Actavis and that may be why there aren't many references to it here/online yet. For verification, the national drug code is reportedly 0591-2172. I hope this helps! ## Thank you so much for the information David this was very helpful ## This is true. New generic for Norco 3/325. I got this for my back (sciatica). ## Sorry, my typing. It's generic for the Norco 5/325. ## Thanks so much Sven this really helps alot it's scary to know that my son has this medication ...

I just picked up a new prescription of vicodin from the pharmacy a week ago and i've taken four. The rx was for 60 and i counted three times and the count keeps coming up to 40. I noticed my neighbor when I visit or outside working always offers to fetch things for me in my house. I have fibromyalgia and I have two tears in my rotator cuff. I try not to take them but sometimes the pain can be unbelievable. I am on a lot of medication and I even noticed my adderall coming up short. I would like to make sure before I confront her. I know that she has her own rx but when she gets them she has said that she sells hers. Is there anything that I can replace my vicodin with, without it being too noticeable? ## Hi Linda - sorry to hear about that. It might be tough to find a vitamin or OTC ...

I called a coworker, who happens to be a nurse also, from my house (she was at her house) and asked her some questions about pain meds. My husbands had been misplaced during our move and he was having an awful time. He's diabetic, has heart issues, has neuropathy and a few other issues. I've overheard her telling others about meds she has at home if they needed them (not necessarily narcotics). I asked if she had anything or knew what he could take like 4 Advil then and hour later 4 Tylenol. I assumed because she knows I'm not a pill popper that she was aware I wasn't asking for narcotics. I have learned that she called HR on me and said I was asking for pain meds (in a way I was). I did ask for alternate methods that he could take due to his issues but not wanting her t...

Hi, I suffer from chronic pain (lumbar spine) and see a pain management doctor. I've been on medication this time for about 10 months, before that I had about 8 months off of everything following 1 year of taking them. I'm looking for some answers about my current dose of Oxycodone, I'm wondering if my dose is considered normal or on the high side and also what side effects other people have experienced on OxyContin & Percocet. I am thinking that I may want to get off of it and wondering if it's best to taper down or just stop. And if taper down how would i do that. Really I have a lot of questions and would love someone who knows about this stuff to respond. I have googled a million times but never find a thread that is active. I have also tried to talk to my doctor...

i have a prescription from my pain management doctor for norco 10-325 but it has been on back order each time ive tried to have it filled at not only my pharmacy Rite Aide but other major pharmacy's have also been unable to fill my prescription is their any reason for this or is there any suggestion's ## Two things are possible. One, when it was reclassified as a Schedule II the bottles the pharmacy's had were sent back to the manufacturer. It is possible they are running short or don't have any. Second, this time of year it is not unusual for Schedule II meds to become very hard to find or not be able to find them at all. The reason is because the manufacturers are only given a certain amount of active ingredients for 1 year. When that runs out, they have to wait until ...

Are the oxymorphone half moons still being dispensed? My pharmacy changed back and forth twice from moons to g's and now just g's for a while. The problem is the cost increased by hundreds of dollars. I live in Biloxi. My pharmacy told me that this is the only brand being sold right now. Is this true? If so I may need to see about switching pain meds. My insurance does not cover oxymorphone at all. ## Hello, Kaysha! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. Many medications have gone up, a lot, in price, though I can't give a valid reason as to why this happened, other than possibly supply and demand. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth...

I survived a compression fracture @C5 and then two more medically necessary (surgically induced) fracture/repairs @C5. I walked away after all of that. In 1998 my spinal cord attached to C5 and the repair work has been scratching into the cord ever since. Prescribed Oxycodone Acetaminophen 5-325mg and carefully monitored ever since I am now at 6 pills a day and have held that level for the last 5 years or so. This month my prescription changed to OA 5-3. It is a smaller pill so I am guessing it is 300 mg rather than 325. Is my guess correct? I am in agony from the forced reduction. What else can I take -- in addition to the prescribed oxy -- to compensate for the reduction of the pain med. Something that won't kill me. I tried Tylenol as a substitute but had to give it up once I was...

My girlfriend had surgery on her right foot she has pins in her 2nd anD 3rd toes and 3 screwdozen to fix a bunion. They gave her oxcicodon and tramadol can she alternate taking them ## While it is always best to follow the advice of one's doctor, that can be done, if necessary and the doctor, or pharmacist doesn't feel there is a reason it isn't safe for her to do so. The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

Is it possible to get the codeine without the Tylenol and or is dilaudid a better than Tylenol w/codeine? ## Yes, Codeine is available by itself, with the Acetaminophen/Tylenol. Dilaudid, however, is a much stronger analgesic. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Yes, you CAN get straight Codeine(anytime you can get a med w/o Tylenol, please do so as it's less damaging to kidneys)& this way YOU can control the amt of acetaminophen you injest. As for which med us better? That all depends on your need for pain relief AND what your Dr. recommends. I'm in stage IV kidney diseas...

I picked up my usual prescription for Percoset and it was obvious when I opened the bottle that it was not the same manufacturer, as my medication has always been oblong white capsules by Mallinckrodt (which I just found out from my pharmacy - CVS - who aren't willing to do anything without speaking with my doctor). Anyway, I have been telling my boyfriend all weekend that these were not working and I have had to take more than prescribed. I have been in constant pain for over 3 years and I know my body well enough and my schedule well enough to know that these do not alleviate my pain unless doubled. I am FURIOUS because I never would have questioned the manufacturer thinking, as a layman in pharmaceuticals, that the ingredients would be the same but their NOT. My weekend has been ...

I have a bad toothache can I take Amox-clav 500 mg for the pain with ibuprofen? For the pain ## Hello, Nikki! How are you? You should make the medications that have been prescribed by your doctor or dentist to ensure that the infection is full eradicated. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and stomach irritation. You also need to make sure to keep all follow up appointments, since these medications will not correct whatever underlying problem has caused the toothache. Is there anything else I can help with?

is a 80mg op stronger then a 30mg perk ## The OP, as you call them are Oxycontin, which is a time released formulation of Oxycodone and, in this case, that would be an 80mg dosage. Percocet contains a combination of Oxycodone and Acetaminophen and it is only available with a maximum of 10mgs of the Oxycodone, there is no 30mg dosage of it available. Are there any other questions or comments? ## Hi Mickey, I know what u r talking about. The op 80 is stronger. They r just time released . Where as the 30s, will release at once. ## Has anyone heard of OP 80 strips that go under you're tongue? I can't find them anywhere to verify its legit. capsule ## First off, I would like to state that there is no medication called Roxicet. This is a confusion of the names of two different brand name medications; Percocet, which contains Acetaminophen and Oxycodone and Roxicodone, which just contains Oxycodone. The Oxycodone is a narcotic and can cause side effects such as: nausea, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Can you provide the imprint from the capsules? That will enable to us to help you determine what medication you have. ## sorry but you are wrong, roxicet is the new generic form of percocet, I just got some from CVS for a migrane and it said on the bottle "ROXICET 10/500" ## have got roxycet from a drug store in GA. they are generic and they are red and white with no marking i have never seen this before. 512, white round tablet ## what does this look like? ## i found one ## Since I use professional subscription databases to provide our site users with the most up-to-date and accurate information possible, I cannot post a picture here due to copyright issues. However, I can identify this pill for you and tell you that this is NOT JUST OXYCODONE! This is a generic for Percocet, which means it contains Acetaminophen 325mgs and Oxycodone 5mgs. Still a narcotic pain reliever, but buffered with the Acetaminophen. This pill should be white with a score line and the number 512 on one side of the tablet. ## I've got a round, white, scored pill with a V on one side, other side says 10/48. I can confirm that this medication is not working as intended. Aurolife Pharma is not to be trusted. I'm going to see if I can get a lab to analyze this medication and pursue legal action. ## Unfortunately, you have no grounds to pursue legal action. Under the Hatch-Waxman Act of 1984, generics are allowed to differ, in the amounts of the active ingredients, by as much as plus or minus 20%, this was done to get generics to market faster and create market competition to try to keep prices lower for those that are uninsured, or underinsured. Additionally, generics are not required to measure against each other, only against the name brand… so, conceivably, you could be a taking one that has the proper amount of the active ingredients, or is slightly higher in them… and sud...
