I had reconstructed surgery on both my feet. For 4 months I was on generic Diloded.(hydromorphone) My Dr.just put me on 5mg oxycodone with Hydrochloride. He said it's supposed 2b stronger than Percocet. Can sum1 tell me if that's true. Sincerely-B. 9/12/16 ## Hello, Blacky! How are you? No, it is about the same, maybe a little weaker, depending on your body's individualism. If you look at the NIH pages regarding this, Percocet contains Oxycodone with Acetaminophen. The Acetaminophen augments that action of the Oxycodone for some people that take it. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. The only thing you can do is try it and see if it helps y...

My Pain Dr is changing my medication from oxycontin 60 mg to opana 30 He is trying to get the pain level to a point that I can be to a point My pain is live able What is the difference I am reading its twice as strong but If your getting 1/2 your dose So Wont the pain medication still more or less be the Same? I start on Monday So any info is appreciated thank you ## SWEET: Supposedly, the Opana actually stays around for 12 hours, whereas you probably know, the Oxy does not. BUT: Opana is very expensive, and depending on where you live, it is very hard to find a pharmacy that carries it. I live in a large metropolitan area, and I found 1 pharmacy that had it, but my copay was 330.00, so I declined. Also, check with your insurance company about what drugs they will pay for in that class ...

My regular pain meds where not working for my chronic back pain so I went the hospital they gave me a small shot of Dilaudid. November 3rd I went to my pain management told them they had me do a UA, signed paper for them to get copy from hospital. Had another appointment on 12-1 they said nothing then on 12-29 they told me they couldn't see me anymore cause my UA from November showed positive for Dilaudid. I told Them there was no way that could be possible, none the less they didn't believe me, now I have no pain doc, now what? ## Due to people getting "hooked" on this type of medication, the doctors do not like to give it out. Yes, it does come in pill form - 8mg or 3 mg. If you have all your paperwork from the time you had your shot at the hospital etc. and can show i...

MS CONTIN have been taking for 2 weeks 60 mg tablet twice a day. How long will it take to be out of my system. I had a rx for oxycontin and someone stole my medicine so my friend gave me thses to use. ## Most narcotics are out of your system in 24 to 48 hours, though it can vary a little from person to person and depending on the length of time and dosages that you have been using. Do you know what type of test they are doing? If it is just the basic urine test, then it only checks for the presence of opiates and not the specific ones. However, if it is the expanded 12 panel test, then they check to see the specific ones you are taking. If this is a pain management test, then you could end up with a problem, either way, if you didn't report the theft. They usually use their tests to...

iam takin 100mg ms contin for a year now and am sick of it what would help in detoxing. I dont want to take more drugs and i know the pains in the legs are coming because i detoxed of panadiene forte years ago i would just like some tips ## What type of leg pain did you have? What is just aching, or was it muscle cramping? I have done this exact detox, cold turkey, so I can try to warn you of what to expect and give a few tips. If it was leg cramping, it might be due to the fact that narcotics tend to sap the potassium in your body and a low-dose supplement can help with that. You should check with your doctor first, though, because high potassium levels can also be dangerous, so you shouldn't add a supplement, without their approval. If you can get your doctor to help, by prescribi...

What kind of pill will work on pain and give me energy and motivation like before I lost half of my foot ## Hello, Bill! How are you? Sorry about your amputation. This is classified by the FDA as a narcotic analgesic, it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. What medication has your doctor recommended?

pain medication ## Oral Ketorolac (Toradol) is used to relieve pain and reduce inflammation (swelling). It is used for a short time to treat headache, dental pain, sports-related injuries, and other painful conditions. Ketorolac is used to relieve moderately severe pain, usually pain that occurs after an operation or other painful procedure. It belongs to the group of medicines called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Ketorolac is not a narcotic and is not habit-forming. It will not cause physical or mental dependence, as narcotics can. However, ketorolac is sometimes used together with a narcotic to provide better pain relief than either medicine used alone. ## I was in Mexico having pain in my upper right gum area that went up into my jaw. 3 months before, I had 1 root ca...

I need a pharmacy that carries Endo brand morphine sulfate. It needs to be within a twenty mile radius of Jackson Tennessee. ## I go and get mine . The orange 60's oval endo pill. I go to rite aid. I'm in Nj. Tho.. but your right that they are the best morphine sulfate manufacturer by far. Well you could always just go to a local mom-and-pop and see if the order it for you specifically that brand ## Hi, I specifically take the Endo brand of Morphine Sulfate ER 60 MG pills. I fill mine at Walgreens. That was the brand that they normally dispensed for quite some time. Then all the sudden they changed to some other brand and partially filled my script with 8 of the new brand. The switch gave me an uneasy feeling, so I checked it out before my next refill. (They switched brands beca...

I've been on methadone 15yrs. I need to get off. I'm in pain management for a back injury and the methadone is blocking my percocet. How can I get off methadone? ## I am on both Methadone and oxycodone for pain. As long as you take your oxycodone about 45 minutes before your dose of Methadone and eat about a half an hour after after you take your Methadone, your medication will work as it is supposed to. Follow the same pattern if you take several doses of both medications a day, like I do. Just always make sure you take the oxycodone first, because it sets the tone for the day. I alternate between both and it works amazing. Good luck.

Hi, I'm just wondering how long oxycodone takes to get out of your system? I had been taking oxycodone 10 mg up to 4x daily for about 4 and a half years. I stopped completely 12 days ago, haven't had anything since. Are my chances good that i will test negative in 4-5 days from now on a drug test?

I have Hep. C and my Dr. still prescribes to me Vicodin. Isn't this bad for my liver? What pain pill affects the liver least? Thank you for any ideas. ## Well the problem you and your doctor are going to face here is that approximately 90+% of all medications are processed through the liver. There are very, very few that aren't. When prescribing something, your doctor has to consider the risks and the benefits, there really isn't anything or a narcotic nature for pain that will be processed less through your liver. Just make sure to not abuse it and only use it as prescribed and keep all doctor's appointments. ## I have read that the reason there is concern about Vicodin is the acetaminophen they combine with the hydrocodone. This doesn't make any sense to me to beca...

I see a pain doctor once a month. He occasionally does a drug screen to see if you're taking you're meds, and any meds you shouldn't be taking. I tested positive for Nucynta, I have no idea why, I have never even heard of it. the only pain drugs I take are Tramadol, and Flexerill. I do take several other drugs for various reasons. I am very curious to know why I tested positive ## The same thing happens to me I take hydrcodine and tested positive for nucynta I never heard of either until today what causes this ## My PM doctor took me off my Oxycodone for breakthru pain relief with my Nucynta because he says its not needed, and then substituted it with Diclofenac...I have degenerative disc disease, bulging discs in my lower back, full body arthritis, and Fibromyalgia, I am st...

Hello, I'm wondering if it would be OK to take 2 hydrocodone/Acetaminophine 10/300 at one time. Has anyone done this? I used to take 2 5/300 when my pain was excruciating and my Dr increased my dosage, so I wouldn't have to take two pills. ## Hello, Jules! How are you? It is sometimes prescribed that way, take one or two tablets as needed, but it would be best not to do so, without your doctor's approval. If you aren't opiate tolerant, it could cause an overdose, which may put you in danger. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Well, thank you so much for your reply. I appreciate it. I've been on...

Hey guys, My pain doc in W.Va., who I've been seeing for years was shut down, so my family doc sent me to a pain clinic in Va (there are no pain clinics left in wva). CVS and another pharmacy close to the pain clinic will not fill my prescription because my address is W.Va.. I asked them to call the doc to verify it and I offered my MRI report proving that I am in bad shape (2 major back surgeries, 3 herniated discs, spondy, stenosis, scar tissue, arthritis, etc., etc) but they refused to fill it, treating me like a criminal. My pain level is always high, it never stops. I have kids who I am trying to keep up with and all of the other responsibilities that I have. Without meds I am bed/lazy boy bound. I have a good relationship with my pain doc/clinic. I don't abuse my meds and ...
