How can I get off them, must I wean off them? ## Hello, Jeanne! How are you? There is a difference between addiction and dependence, knowing the definitions of each, as provided by the NIH, may help you feel more comfortable about taking it as prescribed. Addiction generally occurs because someone likes that way a drug makes them feel, such as high, energized, calm, or etc. However, since those are actually just side effects, they tend to go away with time, as their body gets used to the relevant dosage of the drug of choice. As a result, they have to keep taking more and more to get those feelings back. If they suddenly stop, they may experience dangerous withdrawal effec...
Can you take this medication while you're pregnant? My friend is taking this and she is saying that she is pregnant. ## Hello, Amber! How is your friend doing? Hydrochloride in itself is not a medication, it simply designates the specific chemical salt that a medication has been derived from, as explained by the NIH. Thus, there should be some other component to the name of the medication, for example, Oxycodone Hydrochloride, or Hydroxyzine Hydrochloride. Thus, can you please double check the name of the medication and post back? Thanks!
i found some hydrocodone in my drawer, they were kept in a dry dark place in the original container, they were prescribed in 2007 but expired in 2010 and now its about 7 years past the due date. are they still safe to take? ## Hello, Lexi! How are you? They do not become dangerous, once expired, but they do begin to lose efficacy, being that old, they will most likely not work well, anymore. Thus, it would be best to dispose of them and see your doctor for a new prescription. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?
Yes im just wondering if Ibuprofen will do much good for my arthritis in my legs. My knees swell a lot an it hurts bad. My doctor recommended Tylenol 3 with codeen which im highly allergic to. Any suggestions. ## There's really no way to know, except by trying it to see if it helps you. However, there is no 500mg Ibuprofen available. Over the counter doses are available in 100mgs or 200mgs, prescription doses are available in 400, 600, and 800mgs. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. Are you on any other medications?
does any company make a light yellow 20mg Roxycodone with no markings at all on either side ## No, there is no unmarked Oxycodone tablet available on the U.S. market. Under current FDA law, all prescription tablets must have a unique marking on them to enable their identification, in case of emergency. These markings are all registered with the FDA and can lead a person back to what the pill contains, the dosage, and the manufacturer. Unmarked tablets are most likely just some type of over the counter product, though there is a small chance that it may be a foreign medication. Is there anything else I can help with?
I'm a soon to be 47yr old with chronic back and neck pain. So far this year ive had 2-3 flare ups in my lower back, unable to barely dress myself. I went into my doctors and she had given me a 60mg inj. of ketorolac but almost 28hrs later I still have no relief from this inj. I'm already on 60mg oxytocins twice daily plus 10/325 Percocets and nothing is relieving any of my pain and I can't keep living like this. She wants to do an MRI a month from now and I so can't wait that long with the pain level I'm at. I just don't know what to do especially with these drug seeking people out in this world that prevent people who really need help from getting it. I just don't know what to do!
Updated in ToradolLooks like a blue jelly bean. Letters AS + SD engraved in the side. ## Hi Jess, I haven't located an exact match, but I may have found a lead. The company 'Bayer' manufacturers an oblong orange pill marked with AS DC. It's reportedly identified as an OTC cold/flu medicine containing: 325mgs of acetaminophen 325 mg + 10mgs of dextromethorphan hydrobromide + 5mgs of phenylephrine hydrochloride. Perhaps contacting Bayer directly may offer some insight or clues as to what your pill is. The following link will direct you to Bayer's contact form: consumerhealth.bayer.com/contact If you don't mind my asking, whereabouts did you get your pill from?
Found white round pill that is scored with R on one side of the score and P on the other side. The back of the pill has a 5 on the top of the pill and 325 at the bottom. What is this I can't seem to find it anywhere ## Rhodes Pharmaceuticals lists this tablet as containing 5mgs of Oxycodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic and lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. I have chronic pain and have taken oxycodone 30 mgs for years now and I have been trying to kick the habit. What pain med would be closest to the relief of oxycodone ## Hello, Nancy! How are you? There is nothing available close to Oxycodone that does not also carry the risk of being habit forming. There are some nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories that are fairly potent and available via prescription, but they will not match the pain relieving power of Oxycodone. The FDA lists their typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. Why do you think it has become a habit? Have you been taking more than you are prescribed?

Have you tried seeing a pain management specialist?
Can my pain medicine cause very hot heat in my face and nodding out after taking it? I'm on Oxycodone 20 milligrams. ## Hello, Bobby! How are you doing? Yes, the FDA does list those as being possible side effects, you may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, and constipation. How long have you been taking it? Most side effects will improve, once your body adjusts to the medication.
I'm wondering what kind of pill I have ? Its a small white round pill with the purepac logo on it with 714 next to the logo. Can anybody help me ? ## Hello, Michelle! How are you? Actavis lists this tablet as containing 50mgs of Tramadol. The FDA classifies this medication as an opioid analgesic, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?
I just received the 7.5/325mg yesterday, I have been reading the reviews and I am very concern. I have always taken the 7.5/325mg. by the brand Watson. I have been on disability since 1994. I don't know what to do if it doesn't work and this is the only type availability. Why would a pharmacy have a contract with this company? I have chronic back pain plus I have other medical problems, If this pill doesn't work and I have other side affects, is there any other Percocet that I could use? ## Pharmacy distributors will have a contract with whatever generic manufacturer is offering the cheapest price, since not everyone has prescription coverage. It is permissible, as long as the given generic has been approved by the FDA. Not everyone has a problem with this product from Alvog...
Hi I am trying to get off NORCO how long to go threw withdrawel I was on 8 a day and then 5 a day for three months ## Hello, Mari! How are you? A slow taper would be best, to help eliminate most of the withdrawal symptoms, which the NIH lists as possibly including nausea, dizziness, rebound pain, depression, and diarrhea. If you stop abruptly, it may take a month, or more for them all to taper off and go away. Is there anything else I can help with?

The complaints vary from issues similar to yours, to severe headaches, severe bruising, and general pain, all of which the FDA does list...
My pain dr recently started me on 50 mg of Lyrica. If the 50mg doesn't help what mg should I take? I have deep sore stiff pain and it only hurts worse when im walking or standing to wash dishes. They say I have osteoarthritis in my back and knees and they are rubbing bone to bone. What should I tell my pain dr.? Please help me. ## Hello, Verna! How are you? Well, the best thing to do is to give the Lyrica a chance and see if it will help you, or not. How long have you been taking it? It usually takes about 4 to 5 weeks for it to reach its full level of efficacy in your body. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, mood swings, and weight changes.
Can I take oxycodone and dilaudid and be on the fentanyl patch at the same time safely? ## Hello, Hauler! How are you? Has your doctor prescribed all of these? It's odd to be on 2 regular release medications, as well as the time released patch. Usually, just one regular release is prescribed for breakthrough pain. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Taking too much can create the risk of overdose, especially if you aren't opiate tolerant. ## Was on Dilaudid for hip replacement. Horrible drug to get off of. Am in withdrawal now. Tried Fentenyl patch and that was just as bad. ## Trust me, you don't want to. I'm t...

My Doctor that I saw there was Dr. Bowen and she moved and when her replacement came in she kicked a lot of us patients out. after taking an oxycodone how fast does it take to get into your urine? ## @rockstar, From what I understand, a medication's half-life is already under-way the moment you ingest it. So in my opinion the best way to determine when it starts passing through your urine, would be to look at the half-life; which is estimated to be about 3.2 hours for immediate release formulas of Oxycodone. I'm not saying this is 100% accurate (as other variables could also come into play), but it's the only thing I've found that seems to make sense outside of pure speculation. The following article by NIH also notes that (in their controlled study) Oxycodone appeared in urine within 2 hours (a number that isn't too far off from the proposed half-life): ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23609023 I ...
